Happy Thanksgiving!

Looking forward to spending the day explaining to my extended family why everything they they have heard this elections cycle was wrong.

I imagine the first punch will be thrown around four o'clock or so.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Gryphen! There are several sites online that give advice as to how to deal with deluded and argumentative Teatard relatives on this day.

I've noticed that this year the news stations haven't really covered our President pardoning the turkey; they've mentioned it in passing, but they hate our President so much they can't even show a lighthearted turkey-pardoning.

Ain't it fun? Here's my checklist: immigration, abortion, Obamacare, the pipeline, gun control, the rising economy, and of course the obvious craziness of the right wing. If they haven't packed up and left by this time, slander the hell out of St Ronnie.

    Have a great Thanksgiving, Gryphen!

Happy Thanksgiving Gryphen, IM'ers and your loved ones.

I've seen the first punch tossed around in comments in my local papers where the tea party types (after the Grand Jury verdict) whine how Obama (though they call him other names) will never invite Darren Wilson to the White House. Though Obama would if he were black.

Anyway, I imagine the same tea/libertarians/republicans will be in the press today once the liquor or drugs (legal or otherwise) kicks in in the early afternoon, or in comments when Fox or other media or constant constipation gets them riled up.

I try to take them in stride. Figure they're a dying breed of haters. I come to IM as it's a form of brain bleach (good to read most comment here).

For all the friends here and the not-so-friends and even the trolls who frequent these pages: May we all take a deep breath and slow down enough for us all to remember that it was the Founding Father's wishes (despite the theories produced by the liars and some of the less educated or more susceptible to lies) that we all become one people and that before they created this wonderful country, the pilgrims and those who followed them, failed to remember the native inhabitants were the ones who helped white man to survive the first few years - and then we turned around and slaughtered them, lying about what they did and said.

Happy Thanksgiving, people. Try to remember FACTUAL history, please. White Man destroyed the native populations because of their (white man's) greed and ignorance and religion - the history that few want to remember.

Wouldn't it be nice if what we THINK is the truth (the peaceful gathering, the gratitude and the sharing of the bounty available in this great land) was the actual truth we lived by?

Obama Takes a Jab At Republicans During Presidential Turkey Pardon

...Obama joked that his pardon of turkeys Mac and Cheese will be his most talked about executive action of the month. The president said that he was acting within his executive authority and was doing something that both Republican and Democratic presidents before him have done.

The president later joked that some will call his turkey pardon amnesty, and said, “But don’t worry, there’s plenty of turkey to go around.”

We could say that besides pardoning Mac and Cheese, the president didn’t let a few turkeys on Capitol Hill, who are claiming that he is acting like an emperor and a dictator off the hook. The president had a little fun at the expense of his Republican critics, while enjoying what he admitted was a welcome bit of lighthearted presidential duties.

This year, President Barack Obama and his family are spending Thanksgiving at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, where they'll dine on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes -- and six kinds of pie.

Here's this year's menu, as provided by the White House press office:

    Dinner:

    Thyme Roasted Turkey
    Honey-Baked Ham
    Cornbread Stuffing
    Oyster Stuffing
    Braised Winter Greens
    Macaroni and Cheese
    Sweet Potato Gratin
    Mashed Potatoes
    Green Bean Casserole
    Dinner Rolls

    Dessert:

    Banana Cream Pie
    Coconut Cream Pie
    Pumpkin Pie
    Apple Pie
    Pecan Pie
    Cherry Pie

As the Associated Press notes, it's Obama's responsibility to pick up the tab for the meal -- as he does every other day of the year.

It's just so sick how they keep wanting to 'punish' him:

Happy Thanksgiving, Gryphen and everyone here at I.M. When things get crazy, they really do get crazy. looks like Fox could use a journalist worth her salt. They somehow got Sarah mixed up with a real legitimate female who could be a candidate and mop the floors with Sarah "Pass the rice, please" Palin.

    Can someone pass the Rice?
