President Obama brought an early Christmas present for the Democrats, and the rest of the country.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Democrats on Tuesday received a gift high on their wish list — an invigorated economy that they believe will give President Obama much-needed clout when he faces off with a Republican Congress next year.

Current and former Obama aides say they expect the White House to get a year-end boost from the 5 percent expansion rate of the economy in the third quarter, and expect the president to aggressively talk up the gains in the months to come.

The growth figures also could give the White House new leverage as it seeks common ground with Republicans on a range of policy areas, such as trade and taxes, and as it prepares for battle in others, like changing the healthcare law.

"The proof is in the pudding," one former senior Obama administration official said. "There's really nothing else to say."

Yeah there really is nothing left to say is there?

It seems the minute that the polls closed on November 4th, and before the Republicans could even uncork their champagne bottles to celebrate what they thought was a victory, the President was already opening the can of whoopass that he was planning to present them with for the next two years.

God I love the holidays, don't you?

Could not ask for a better Christmas and start to the New Year, than President Obama clowning the GOP. Mitch the Bitch, queen obstructionist and all around tool will have the two years he deserves with Rove's Tea Party wacko birds nipping at his ankles, while the remaining sane folks in Congress smack him on the nose with rolled up legislation. Bad dog, Mitch. Bad, bad, dog.

    HAHAHA - love it!

Notice the elephant has no tusks or teeth.

Also note that he/she could just let go of the duck's leg and be free.

  4. Well, all I can say - a lifetime Democrat - is that our biggest problem is our totally incoherent messaging. Please, President Obama and Congressional leaders, please tout these facts from the rooftops. Please...

Robust economic growth in third quarter raises hopes that a boom is on horizon

We just re-financed our 30 yr mortgage for a 15 yr mortgage through HARP. Super terms, low paperwork, appraisal only to establish there really is a house to re-finance. It's our Christmas present for the next 15 years saving us almost $100K.

    Thank you, President Obama :)

And a Merry Thanksgiftmas to you, Uncle G!

You know the country is making great progress when even Politico has a story titled "Everything Is Awesome!"

And still, some of the commenters are complaining about Obama's "failed policies". They simply cannot accept facts.

Merry Christmas to you! What wonderful economic news! Too bad for the GOP. (I typed GOOP by mistake, and I almost left it that way.) They are getting a well deserved trouncing, and Obama is just the coolest guy ever. I love to see him smiling.

We are doing well too. My husband just retired from a major company after 37 years. We have a good pension, good healthcare until Medicare kicks in, and we are now wealthier than I ever dreamed we could be thanks to living within our means, buying efficient vehicles, and paying off our mortgage early (against the wishes of the financial advisor, who later changed his tune! ) Now we can help the grandkids with their college funds, help the two kids if they need it (they won't-both college educated and in professional jobs) and gee, maybe donate a whole bunch anonymously to Democrats for the next election.
Thank you, President Obama, for all you have done. I haven't agreed with everything, but the country is now on the right track, and the GOP is screwed.
And Jesse, thank YOU for another year of entertainment, disbelief, and education! Your interest in science and kids has made me pay more attention to those areas. Happy Holidays to all!

    Gryphen,
Are you going to give your readers a Christmas present from your informant tomorrow? Pretty please?

    1. No, I'm not.

Tomorrow historically has the lowest numbers of visitors of the year, so posting it then would be silly.

Plus people should focus on spending time with their families tomorrow and NOT concern themselves with Sarah Palin.

Any way you cut it 5% for any quarter adjusted any way is phenomenal- and it's a pretty good Christmas present for a POTUS.

And yet the Democrats abandoned him and distanced themselves in the run up to the last election and the Democratic electorate couldn't be bothered to come out and vote and give him the congress he deserved. Pathetic. I magine what he could have done if Democrats cared enough to vote.

Gryphen, during physical therapy, when they get to the
torture part, I try and think of every hilarious name you have
named Sarah Palin, and I get through it with no problem.
Nostradumbass will always be my favorite! Thank you

always check your blog for my material. You are a natural!
