Jess (Duggar) Seewald |
I will speak to you a hard truth. I do not write this because I think that it will bring me popularity. It won't. But it is Truth from the Word of God: the Bible. To not tell people this is to hide the truth from them. To keep silent is to not care for their eternal destiny! I care about you, and this is why I am speaking out!
By "truth" of course this minimally educated shut in is talking only about what she has learned in the Bible. And as far as she is concerned there is really nothing else of any importance worth reading.
God's judgement isn't something to be taken lightly! It should scare you! Man's "judgement" is a 1000x lighter... usually just a voicing of disapproval. But when unbelieving, sinful men die and stand before God, He justly condemns them to hell.
Yes first this "God" creates man "in his image" and then hides his presence from him his entire life, only to judge him at the time of this death and condemn him to an eternity of pain and suffering for being human.
Sounds fair.
First off, our human hearts are bent toward sin and not righteousness. We shouldn't follow the inclinations of our heart, but rather we know what is right and wrong according to what we find in God's Word: the Bible. Secondly, God isn't slacking to fulfill His promised Judgement on sin--it's coming. And the only reason you're are alive right now is because He is merciful and has kept your heart beating for another day. He is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should reach repentance. But He will not hold back forever. The hours of your time here on earth are ticking away. You're not promised another day, or even another breath. God's Day of Judgement draws near. It will come as a thief in the night--when you least expect it. Everything that you have done in secret will be exposed. Nothing we do is hidden from God's view.
And here we are worrying about a little government snooping into our private phone calls and e-mails. Apparently God is the biggest spook of all.
This is one of my biggest condemnations of religious indoctrination.
The "if you don't believe you'll be sorry" approach.
And my biggest complaint is that these are the tactics that they use on small children. Which has resulted in literally billions of children throughout the years lying in their beds at night terrified that at some point in their future they will be judged unworthy by God and sent to a place of eternal punishment, while their friends and family are welcomed into Heaven to enjoy eternal life at the side of their Lord.
There is literally no form of child abuse that tops this for emotionally scarring people for the rest of their lives.
And this poor ignoramus continues to spread this nonsense to others, without any real understanding of the damage she will ultimately do to the idiots that listen to her.
I have never been more free, less judgmental since I ditched religion. I have a lot of sadness about lost time and lost opportunities ...but am not indoctrinating my kids so that they won't feel this way. They are free to explore whatever religion they want or not.
ReplyDeleteWho is paying that silly woman to write all of that stuff? The Duggars are no better than the Palins.
ReplyDeleteAll the idiots who cared about the Duggar freak show enough to watch their show regularly.
DeleteThe Palins don't push their faith onto people like that. All Bristol said to joan rivers was it was wrong to judge the attire of people and mock it on that show. Other than that she keeps her faith and related things to herself and son.
DeleteEven Sarah doesn't push the bible verses down strangers throat. Thy share stuff amongst the family
The duggars are actually closed minded and probably refuse to have even gay friends.
The Palins have gay friends and reserve no judgment for anyoe
I went to catholic schools all the way through high school. One of my memories of childhood is sitting on the stairs one night, terrified and crying out of fear. Not because I thought I might go to hell, but just the concept of eternity, spent in either heaven or hell, was just too much to bear. I was in third grade.
ReplyDeleteI also went to Catholic schools all the way through high school. I had the same feeling. The thought of eternity in either heaven or hell was too much for me. I was a basket case of guilt. Now I'm agnostic.
DeleteThe upcoming overuse of her poor uterus will be dimming her
ReplyDeletebrain cells further. It mostly happens to people who are subjugated on a daily basis. When they get to judge---they judge the hell out of you.
Sadly, there are millions of chidren damaged by this vicious bible based fear cult.
ReplyDeleteThose Duggar girls are doomed to a life of nothing but being a baby factory, housewife, and submitting to rape by their husbands.
According to Jim Bobblehead and Michelle Duggar, women must ALWAYS submit to be fucked, no matter what they might feel like.
NO excuses, because those weak Christian men may have to go find another wet hole somewhere else.
Remember ladies iti's ALL your fault!. You ate the apple, you were decieved, and you are the whores of Babylon, unless you submit to your husband just like he was GAWD!
Jessa is starting to become my least favorite Duggar, which is not an easy accomplishment since Jim Bob, Michelle, and Josh are all tied for #1.
ReplyDeletePlease don't tell me you actually WATCH that crap!
DeleteGee, for some reason, the word "delusional" comes to mind.
ReplyDeleteTrue, dat. My grandchildren's mother committed suicide years after her divorce from my son, then when they visited my ex-wife, she sat them down and told them that because their mother killed herself, she was going to hell. They don't visit my ex-wife any longer.
ReplyDeleteIt is for this, and many other reasons that I despise this group of home schooled idiots.
ReplyDeleteHow sad her daily existence must be to carry around such fear of her biblical god. She is still young and I hope for her sake she will eventually come to see how paralyzing and harmful this type of religious zealousness can be.
ReplyDeleteDon't count on it. There's lots of positive reinforcement (money and fame) for her to stick with the flock.
DeleteIt's not just fundy Christians. Extremely long story short--I have a granddaughter who wants to be Catholic like her mom, but is being raised in her Egyptian father's household. Now that she's reached puberty (14 in April), he's pressuring her to fully convert, take to covering her head & arms, etc. She's the spitting image of my daughter, his now ex-wife, so she's not exactly being cooperative. He told her that Allah will judge HIM & HE will go to hell if she doesn't convert. She replied that Allah must be some God if those are the rules. Did I mention how much I love my granddaughter?
ReplyDeleteI wish your granddaughter well in her struggle to be independent. And I hope that her father will see that loving his daughter is more important than scaring her into doing something just to please him. We saw Shakespeare's "King Lear" the other evening and one lesson I took from the play is that parents should never shut out their children completely for being independent. It only leads to great sorrow and regret for everyone.
DeleteBeaglemom
Thanks, Beaglemom. We only get to see her a few times each year, but thanks to Facebook, can message her every day. She lives in a very rural area where she's the only student in her school of Islamic descent. She's about to enter high school--I don't know about you, but being a freshman is it's own special kind of hell. She doesn't need the extra pressure.
DeleteAs for her father coming around, it's never going to happen. Now that he has a son with his new wife, my granddaughter has been relegated to second class status. She's counting the days until she can leave. Unfortunately, in our state, that's not until age 18. In the meantime, we message her as often as possible to keep her spirits up.
The whole family are ignorant freaks! I watched one show years ago and they made my skin crawl.
ReplyDeleteAlso, can't spell "judgment" correctly.
DeleteThere's an "e" added only in Britain.
Thank you, 8:32! I was about to point that out.
DeleteI noticed that, too, and told her in the comments that she needs to repent her mistakes and edit!
DeleteShe's been thoroughly brainwashed.
ReplyDelete"... human hearts are bent toward sin and not righteousness." Speak for yourself. My instinctive emotional and physiological inclinations, though sometimes harmful, do not negate my goodness; I am not demon-tainted garbage by default. I can be a selfish screw-up sometimes, but the goodness in me is not disqualified by even a sliver of the bad.
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't be more right about religious fundamentalism as child abuse. As a Catholic school survivor, I was LITERALLY physically ill with terror. I knew, even when I was six, seven, years old that if I died, I'd be hurled straight into hell because I hadn't yet figured out how to appease this God who obviously despised me. The first time I heard the "God is love" meme I thought I'd stepped into the twilight zone-- Huh?! Love? Are you fucking kidding me? I'd read the entire bible as a child, compelled by the very same fear that this woman wishes would govern humankind, and it drove me insane. All I knew was that this God really, really hated me. Look at all the evidence-- he WANTED to banish me to hell. He was as giddy about it as a kid itching to open presents on Christmas morning.
"For God so hated the world that he fashioned a flaming garbage pit of inescapable nightmares because, well, justice, and because by his standards we're so miserably rotten, it's not extreme-- it's what we deserve."
I don't see any difference between her and those that think Obama is the Truth & the Light. It is plausible that both sets were conceived by apes.
ReplyDeleteAre you the Troll that worships the Palin family? I voted for Obama twice, and generally pleased with his presidency, but in no way do I think the sun and moon rise on him. I don't worship him or any other human, or the great spaghetti monster in the sky.
DeleteAlicia from Florida, pretending she's not a 30 something year old being supported by her parents because she can't function in the real world.
DeleteHey! Just like the Palin kids! No wonder Alicia loves them so much. Too bad, unlike the Palins, Alicia's parents can't help her get anywhere in show business, especially since Alicia is a theater person.
All these duggers are headed down hill ,like snow ball headed for h=#:.
ReplyDeleteWhat with that troll under the bridge, that thing under my bed, a sadistic, sociopathic, serial-killer god on the loose, and that snake from Swiss Family Robinson, childhood demanded courage.
ReplyDeleteI remember that snake. I blame SFR for completely messing up my adult life by convincing me I am capable of doing anything and everything.
Deleteahhh... the old "We KNOW what happens when you die" argument.
ReplyDeleteReligion - what a racket:
You give US 10% of every dollar you make during your entire lifetime and you'll get your reward ...when you DIE.
You can't know if what they're saying is REAL and TRUE
...until you are dead.
Like I said: what a racket.
You don't have to agree with her, but why does she deserve your derision and name-calling? I'm not a fan of the Duggars, but jeez.
ReplyDeleteShe's telling us if we don't obey and fear her god, we are all going to hell. She's telling us we are all wrong and bad and evil unless we believe what she believes.
DeleteShe deserves everyone's derision.
Why such a hateful blog post?
ReplyDeleteIt's not hateful. It addresses the crippling psychological damage associated with Christian extremism, how its cornerstones of judgmentalism and condemnation victimize children and suck the life, not to mention the humanity and empathy, out of adults. Read the article again.
DeleteIt's about how the doctrine of eternal damnation poisons the perspective of believers like Jessa. They come to dehumanize those that don't fit the appropriate mode, and they feel divinely justified in doing so. She can rhapsodize all she wants about love-- ultimately, her religion tells her that the very people Jesus allegedly hung out with are monsters more repulsive than feces, and they deserve to burn. This dehumanization destroys people, especially children. It shreds their innocence and dignity, and all from a supposed pulpit of righteousness.
Listen to the Duggar's buddy Bryan Fisher for a few minutes, and you'll understand why the AFA is a hate group.
Well, gee. It appears we are having more and more people coming here to spew their idea of decent argument. You know, telling us we hate everything and we don't understand? The ones who are 110% Palin fools and right wing religious suckers?
ReplyDeleteI mean, let's take the comment by 6:28. the question posed is:
"Why such a hateful blog post?"
Now personally, I don't find the posting hateful. I find it embarrassing. And painful. And disgusting. But I find it is those things ONLY because of what the girl's family is doing to her. Most of the postings here on this thread have been displaying pity for the girl and shock at a family that would DO that to their daughter.
That part (what they are doing to her) IS hateful, I agree. But the posting is no more hateful than a report on the murder of an Isis captive. The REPORT is not hateful.
Whoever you are, 6:28. I would like to have you explain how THAT is hateful. Come to think of it, no. I'm not interested in your explanation.
The feeling is mutual, I'm not interested in anything you say.
DeleteProbably because you've worn out your soundtrack of PALIN, RELIGION, PALIN,, RELIGION, PALIN, RELIGION, PALIN, RELIGION...Get a fucking life, loser.
So this is how I understand what she said:
ReplyDeleteBelieve in Jesus because he saw you wanking off and if you don't believe in him he's going to tell all your friends and family.
You'd think the Creator of the Universe had better things to do.
Catholic school and related things are the kind of indoctrination that is considered wrong for kids.
ReplyDeletethat isn't to be confused with simple church or faith based activities that revolve around good will, charity and community.
via Gods word and God's good will.
Kids always have the option to leave for any reason. But church is typically not a bad thing. However, I am religious and do not go to church. Not my style. I tried Sunday school as a child and grew disillusioned by the people who were there only because their parents were pillars of the community. They are still religious today, but it doesn't define their lives, but serves as a moral backdrop.
I knew a pastor who cheated on his wife and is working hard to recover from it and be better. He is a good man.
Christians don't call themselves perfect. They don't judge. Jessa isn't judging. She's giving her "thesis" on her faith. Is she pushing it down your throat? You never even write about her. I didn't even know a Duggars name until this post. Kind of like how I didn't know several of Sarah's kids names until 2 weeks ago.
Can you defend your judgment of these people when you don't know them?
But as long as YOU are judging and trashing anyone, it's good you are not a man of character, faith, or good will and charity.
You are such a liar, Alicia.
DeleteHow can these religious people be so naive? Don't tell me there is a god interested in anything I do. If so, where is it/he/she when these tiny children are painfully starving to death, when parents are mutilating their young girls genitals, when innocent people are having their heads cut off, and very young children with their teachers are being gunned down in their school?
ReplyDeleteAll this happening daily when religious zealots are spewing forth that their god cares about every hair on my head. How dumb or ignorant does one have to be if you can read the daily news or listen to the radio or TV with the ugliness around us rolling forth from the talking heads?
Caring? The religious definition must be a new one for caring if all the above mentioned horrors are totally acceptable to the followers of said religions.
Additionally, if a god does not care enough to intervene and save those mentioned above from their suffering then why would anyone think that god gives a damn about a test, an illness or a wish I might pray for?
Everyone needs hope but fantasies are not a strong thing to wrap your wishes around.
Where is god when my Seahawks lose. I prayed and believed and they lost..
Deletesnark
Jessa is indeed very ignorant. She would hate and judge Jesus himself because he hung out with sinners, tax collectors and prostitutes, everyone that was judged and hated by people in the society of His day. She is very judgmental and the bible says to judge not lest ye be judged. I wonder what bible she reads. It also says take the log out of your own eye before you criticize the speck in someone else's eyes. The Duggars are a self righteous bunch and she has appointed herself the main spokesperson. She knows nothing of the real world, raised in a home school cocoon by her parents. The real world is not real to her.
ReplyDeleteMisspells 'judgment'. How'd that homeschooling work out for ya, Jessie? Applied to any colleges yet? Going to get a real job someday?
ReplyDeletei dunno, Gryphen, she sownds pritty noliggible of the inner workings of god's brain which you kinda figger must be enormuss being that he's god and all. Would it be so tearbell to worship her? Yes, I think that is the ansir! I shall worship this Duggy woman!!! Not today, but soon and for the rest of my life!
ReplyDelete(Ok, how was that? Authentically nutbaggy enough? Must be nice to live in her head and be so confident that you know the mind of the imaginary creator of the universe and yet be so thoroughly, indisputably, horribly, totally wrong... )
