Courtesy of the Chicago Sun Times:
Though President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle still have two years left in the White House, their foundation has come up with a bold slogan for their next chapter: “Eight years is only the beginning.”
When they leave on Jan. 20, 2017, Obama will be only 55 and his wife, who turned 51 on Jan. 17, will have just celebrated her 53rd birthday.
Not that I ever doubted it, but the Chicago-based Barack Obama Foundation‘s revamped website, which went live Friday, makes it clear the Obamas intend to maintain a robust public presence in the decades to come.
I have to imagine that the mere thought that Obama will continue pushing his agendas in the private sector must make conservatives want to pull their hair out.
I predict that in only five years of leaving office Barack Obama's presidency will be considered one of the greatest in American history and that his popularity will soar.
And with that I have little doubt he will commit himself to charity work, and social programs that will rival the incredible accomplishments of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.
The clinton foundation is frequently discussed in its huge travel expense reports. Yes, he had security detail and obvi travels a lot, but millions worth?

It's great to know the anti-Obama crowd is supplying clicks to your site too Gryphen. Thanks guys!
DeleteAh, Rupert's little rag---The Post.
DeleteObvi when you take a rapid right winging writer that is mad as hell that President Obama has been so highly successful and that all his dire predictions have come to naught, then that when you'll be looking into the beady eyes of Michael Goodwin. He's spittin' mad that he's been so completely wrong about the demise of this presidency and is unabashedly whining about it. No surprise that you would cherry pick his writing to support your ignorant troll post.
Delete4:04 AM The up all night jobless troll is at it again. Spewing untruths with little or no research. Aren't you ashamed of living off of Mommy and Daddy? Aren't you tired of being a lonely Bristol Palin Stalking fool?
Delete4:04
DeleteSeriously-- is it too hard for you to tackle the same rudimentary literacy skills that all children must master before proceeding to the second grade?
"Anonymous4:04 AM http://nypost.com/2015/02/07/de-blasio-and-obamas-lack-of-experience"
Delete----------------------------------
"Lack of experience"? The entire article is a pile of wishful thinking and patronizing hogwash, especially since neither you, 4:04 am, or the article author can apparently comprehend that out of seven billion people on this planet, only two, yes two, individuals have as much experience as Preident Barack Obama in running this country.
Suggesting that meeting payroll is good experience for governing is just stupid. People who think in terms of being the boss will never comprehend that as elected officials, they are the employees and their constituents are the bosses.

DeleteI discovered the truth about the NY Post back in 1986 when I was with a tour group in Kiev when Chernobyl exploded.
The articles that the Post published screamed that 20,000 people were dead and that mass chaos was reigning throughout the streets of Kiev. I was there for 5 days after the initial explosion before we were able to evacuate.
The reality was that a lot of people didn't even know what was happening 60-some miles away (it WAS still the days of the old Soviet Union, after all) and, for the vast majority of people, life went on the way it had before the accident.
They were clearly puling the stories out of their nether regions, but it was selling newspapers and that's all they were concerned about, the truth be damned.
I miss George and Laura, a genuine relationship.
ReplyDeleteI also have no idea, besides work in Africa, what the Clinton initiative DOES. Or where it gets its billions. hmmm
Google it. That might help you in your quest for information.
DeleteLaura Bush? The robotic stepford wife married to the guy whose mental development was arrested at 15? with those pasted on in- the -headlights eyes, yet she is the most clueless mommy-wife ever observed.
DeleteHmmm, let's see just how amazing and successful the Clinton Initiative has been, so our little troll can get schooled in what she doesn't know and is too stupid and lazy to find out.
DeleteBecause of our work, 26,000 American schools are providing kids with healthy food choices in an effort to eradicate childhood obesity; 28,000 African farmers have improved their crops; 248 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions are being reduced in cities worldwide; $20 million is being invested in small- and medium-sized businesses in Colombia; 8.2 million people have benefited from lifesaving HIV/AIDS medications; and members of the Clinton Global Initiative community have made more than 3,100 Commitments to Action, improving over 430 million lives around the world.
and that's just the start.
https://www.clintonfoundation.org/about
and where does it get it's billions...hmmm, the answer to that is contributions, by tons of people, organizations and businesses.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_Foundation#Contributors
So you can take your hmmms and shove them up your little trollie ass.
@4:07 AM We have no idea why you comment here all day and all night, Asshat Troll. GW Bush was a drunk and a Cocaine user. So certainly you miss that.
Delete"I also have no idea, besides work in Africa, what the Clinton initiative DOES. Or where it gets its billions. hmmm"
Delete------------------------------------
Hmmm. Must be because you are a fucking ignorant moron too stupid to read the huge volumes of information about the Clinton Foundation.
Well George and Laura are both sucking on bottles of booze in Dallas, where they somehow got a public street blocked off and we tax payers paid millions for the house next door that his security lives in. Arrive for a visit with a bottle of bourbon and you can probably sit and drink in a smoke filled room with Laura.
DeleteLaura Bush? The teen murdered and alcoholic?
DeleteDoes this mean Biden-Obama?
ReplyDeleteSorry, not possible.
DeleteThere is some debate about how this amendment works with the 12th Amendment. The 12th Amendment limits who can become Vice-President to only people who meet the requirements of being President. One side of the debate points out that since a 2 term president can not become president again, that person can also not be vice-president. The other side of the debate is that the 12th Amendment deals with requirements but the 22nd deals with elections. This side points out that not being allowed to be elected does not mean that person does not meet the requirements needed by the 12th Amendment. Since no president who has served two terms has ever tried to be vice-president, this problem as not yet been decided by the courts.
Deletehttp://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution
Depends on what Obama you are talking about.
DeleteI will stand with the the fact that as Vice-President he would be President should the elected President become unable to perform the duties of the office, which would mean he would be the President again. Can't happen.
DeleteAnon @ 8:10 am.
DeleteNo, it's not so clear since we have already had one president serve 3 terms.
Not only is it not legally possible, who would want a former President stealing their thunder as VP? Silly IM kids and your silly wishes.
DeleteI'd put money on future Obama initiatives to change the definition of ex-presidential "charitable work".
ReplyDeleteYep, he will knock it out of the park in ways never before seen, because that's just who this amazing man is.
DeleteHow come the bush's and raygun never did any charitable works?
DeleteBush senior did some stuff, Bush Jr is too busy "painting" and Raygun had Alzheimer's didn't even know he was president, Nancy was running the country with her psychic.
DeleteWhat a beautiful couple they are - President Obama and First Lady of the United States. Such love, affection and happiness between them.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to believe that Mrs. Obama is 51. She looks a day barely over 40. Wonder if her husband's love and respect for her is part of Mrs. Obama's secret to her youthful aura.
Look at Mrs. Obama seven years ago....she gets better and better. Compare that to $arah. YIKES.
DeleteThey were born one month apart in 1964. Mrs. Obama exercises every day, eats healthy food, loves her family, works to improve conditions for veterans' families, and, clearly, has the brains and the drive to make her life something to be proud of.
DeleteMichelle Obama, whose father had multiple sclerosis and hobbled to his working-class job every day, was smart enough to graduate from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
Those who point fingers and allege that these accomplishments are only the result of affirmative action don't acknowledge that minorities were being welcomed into competitive schools at that time -- but it didn't guarantee graduation. There's nothing about her that says "second-rate."
That's the part that conservatives can't stand -- that minorities have proven they can be the equals of the white majority. They hate and mock the Obamas all the more because white supremacy has proven to be a lie.
Compare this to Sarah Palin, who also had a somewhat humble background, but one in which education and achievement were not valued. She floundered, never being smart enough to get a real college education, or smart enough to get herself scholarships, or take out student loans, to attend good schools.
She clearly has spent her life in self-indulgence, demanding to get what she wants by whatever means. She doesn't appear to have much time for her family, and her three adult children have never been urged to apply themselves to get a college education or job training that will give them a solid foundation. She spends money on plastic surgery because she thinks her looks are her most valuable commodity, which probably has been true, since her brain is third-rate.
So, 51 years in the life of two women. Michelle Obama would have been a happy, successful woman, whether or not she was First Lady. Sarah Palin will never be, and has never been, happy.
Anonymous6:38 AM
DeleteThere really is no reason to even try to compare Michelle and Sarah. Sarah is only a F-rated reality show star.
Sarah is getting the face she deserves. The ugliness on the inside has seeped to her outsides.

There's still a part of me that would love to see him declare martial law and REALLY get done what he wanted to for the people. Talk about heads exploding! HA!
ReplyDeleteWTF?
DeleteLOL!
DeleteLet's hope it is an incredibly TINY piece of you that wishes that!
DeleteARE YOU FREAKING NUTS?
I want NO president to declare Martial Law ever. Even the ones I like .
DeleteI was joking, Leland, but you proved my point!
DeleteThe only problem with your fantasy is that he never was going to declare martial law, that was just in the minds of the paranoid hatemongers on the right. So, either you are one of those, or you're an idiot.
DeleteSorry, 6:06, but that is something that should NEVER be joked about!
DeleteAt the very least, some asshole repube could take it and run saying that's what we WANT him to do.
As was said a long time ago in a very popular radio show: "Tain't funny, McGee!"
@5:11 PM
DeleteOh look,
Palin and her kids are now reduced to posting Fox talking points to earn money.
Pitiful, isn't it.
Poor little Palins.
I apologize, Leland, I truly do!
DeleteFormer Presidents Carter and Clinton both still continue to help citizens, as will President Obama. Meanwhile, the cause of so much destruction in the world paints portraits of HIMSELF. His father jumps out of planes once a year, at taxpayer expense. There is a stark difference between Democratic presidents and republican ones, it is glaringly obvious.
ReplyDeleteBoy, if that isn't the truth!
DeleteRead my post when it is approved. We're singing the same song.
DeleteAnd lets not even start on the true evil behind the Bush 43 regime, Cheney. All he does is bad mouth President Obama and try to push us to war with someone, anyone, for his own profit.
Delete"Meanwhile, the cause of so much destruction in the world paints portraits of HIMSELF in the bathtub."
DeleteFIFY. Added a very important - and disturbing - detail.
what a wonderful family. unlike Bush..history will be kind to this man.
ReplyDeleteConservotards will misread it as "SEE he's going to instill martial law and become a dictator!"
ReplyDeleteI've mentioned on other sites that Repug ex-presidents play golf, sit on boards, give silly speeches for lots of money, and paint amateurish pictures while Democratic ex-Presidents go on to forge vibrant lives of service to humanity. Something to think about....
ReplyDeleteIt makes complete sense.
DeleteThe GOP Presidents are only in it to acquire power and fortune for themselves and their corporate supporters.
The Democrats genuinely want to make the country a better place for everyone.
It is only logical that the two groups continue pursuing these same goals after their terms have ended.
So true! I'm wracking my brain trying to think what Reagan and both Bushes have done for the betterment of our country and our world since they left office and I can't think of anything. I'll give Reagan a bit of a pass because he had Alzheimer's. But there is no excuse for both Bushes.
DeleteThat being said, I'm really looking forward to what the Obama family will do once they leave the White House, including Malia and Sasha.
Jennifer K.
>>I predict that in only five years of leaving office Barack Obama's presidency will be considered one of the greatest in American history and that his popularity will soar.
ReplyDeleteAnd you will be absolutely correct in that prediction, there's no question in my mind about that.
Not only that, but his daughters will also go on to be highly successful, deeply loved young ladies who will take the world by storm with their graciousness, their intelligence, their beauty and their kind hearts. They will be respected and honored around the world, demonstrating a profoundly mature and responsible nature.
Yes, they will. This family will make a HUGE difference in the well-being of millions on the planet, always reaching outward, offering service.
Agree about the President and First Lady AND about their daughters. They all have their priorities very straight and have demonstrated how much they value education, hard work and giving back to the community.
DeleteI have the utmost respect for our President, the First Lady and their two beautiful young daughters. They have exemplified grace and dignity while representing our country. I believe history will remember President Obama as one of the great ones!
ReplyDeletecons rely on a Low information to jump to such rediculous conclusions of o he's spending our mooooonnnneeeyyyyy! o he's going to declare martial llllaaaaawwwwwwww! cons count on bottom feeders with with short term memory issues. says alot about their *base. think of all Your kids lost in Iraq u suckers. did these cons send Their kids to war or even go to war themselves? we all know the answer to that. $$$ spent on Iraq!!?? do you get the picture? I know you do...but ignorance is bliss .again....suckers!
ReplyDeleteThe more I see this man, listen to this man, I am deeply grateful to have lived in this time of his presidency and cannot wait for what he will accomplish going forward without the right wing Congress blocking his way. It will be EPIC.
ReplyDeleteOn Thursday, President Barack Obama met with 13-year-old student Vidal Chastanet, who had been featured in the immensely popular photography project Humans of New York.
Obama sat down in the White House's Oval Office with Chastanet, his principal, Nadia Lopez, and Humans of New York photographer Brandon Stanton. During the visit, documented on the Humans of New York Facebook page, Obama answered questions about the challenges he's faced in life, including the moment when he felt "most broken."

Bravo! I ❤️ The Obama's !
ReplyDeleteRepublican ex-presidents are soon forgotten around the world. If they are remembered it is for the destruction they caused (W) Carter, Clinton and Obama will ALWAYS be welcome in any country, unlike W who can not leave the US in case he is arrested for war crimes! Even W's VP is forced to stay in the US. Obviously, SOMETHING is wrong with gop candidates. President Obama wants to make the US a peaceful partner worldwide, save lives and end wars. Contrast that to little lumpy Johnny Mac and some of the other gop candidates advocating for "boots on the ground" As long as those boots are on the feet of voters, and not their family members.
ReplyDeleteBuzzFeed is about to have its first presidential interview.
ReplyDeleteOn Sunday morning the website announced that its editor in chief, Ben Smith, will sit down with President Obama at the White House on Tuesday. Obama will also take part in a video shoot.
BuzzFeed is using Facebook to amplify the interview, first by having Smith invite users' questions for the president ahead of time and then by posting the Obama video on Facebook afterward.
The video is being produced by the site's relatively new video production division, called BuzzFeed Motion Pictures. It's intended to be funny and appealing to young people.

Yes he does keep making huge leaps and strides in moving this country forward and assisting Americans in living healthier and happier lives. He and his administration have been front and center with making this country a better place even in the face of the obstructionists and racists that have done everything they can to try and stop him. They've spent BILLIONS of dollars and still he continues on with his mission to turn this country around and we are seeing the amazing results, with so much more to come.

ReplyDeleteHo ho. Unlike the Pee Pals.
DeleteWrong blog, 7:07 AM C4PEEPEE is where you can go with that. You Palinbots are infatuated with a fraud. Get real, Troll.
DeleteAhh, you're just jealous because President Obama's accomplishments are real and not based on creating a brand and a myth to promote himself like Skankella does. We who see the hard, cold facts of his influences and accomplishments are deeply impressed and moved by his non stop commitment to a better world, and fairer country and his unwavering stance on getting the job done.
DeleteHe doesn't stand on the sidelines, pissing and moaning and lob angry, vicious, vindictive diatribes from Facebook and Twitter, he gets in and gets the job done. We honor him and respect him for that commitment and for his producing amazing results in his time in public service. It's what intelligent adults do, they recognize quality and sincerity. And that just burns your ass because there is nothing that is quality or sincere about Sarah and her minions. It's all smoke and mirrors and more and more people are seeing it for exactly what it is, FRAUD.
Fuck off asshole.
DeleteIf one needs to know the meaning of 'obsessed' one needs to go no further than to read the comments here.
DeleteAnd when he leaves office, you can be sure that he won't be whining and moaning about what the next administration is doing -- he'll be working for positive results in whatever he puts his mind to.
DeleteThat's the difference, Sarah. You are a black force of negativity, with nothing creative or constructive coming from you, no matter how many speeches you give, how many hours of "tv channel" you spew out, or Facebook posts you complain on. You're not a leader, because you have no ideas, no vision, no humanity.
Orlin you quit signing your name, not so proud of your ridiculous posts today?
DeleteMaybe you should look up the definition of respect.
ANONYMOUS evidently isn't willing to put his real name on a comment. Morel like Anon-Mouse
DeleteFunny how ex-democratic presidents continue doing good works for mankind while republican ex-presidents slink off and hide...
ReplyDeleteAnd come out of hiding to give a speech if enough money is offered.
DeleteI see the divide as the Rs making money for personal gain and the Ds making money for foundations for social good.
I will follow the Obamas after his second term is completed as POTUS. They are wonderful people and I'm sure will continue doing good things for our country and world. We are very fortunate to have them amongst us!
ReplyDeleteAgree with you 100%
DeleteI hope he stays out of public education policies.
ReplyDeleteWhy, not enough Jesus in science class for you?
DeleteHe's probably the best educated of the entire govt at this point. If not, he's by far the most intelligent. I'd like to see him as the bar we set for our elected politicians. Oh, and his humanity and sense of humor are top notch, too.
DeleteMildred
Don't worry Sarah, no one is going to force your family of thugs to get an actual education.
DeleteHe may be the best educated president we've had in decades but he knows NOTHING about public education and he appointed an equally unqualified Secretary of Education. Teachers have no confidence in Arne Duncan and haven't pretty much since he took over. Likewise they may support the President in general but when it comes to education policy, they do NOT support his ideas and consider many of them damaging to public education.
DeleteSo yes, I hope he stays out of public education policies as well.
Look at that picture! Our amazing President and his wife are clean, well-groomed, similing, attractive. So unlike that hateful harpy Skanky Pay-me.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy our Commander-in-Chief. But I am excited to see what he will do once he's out of office and can relax a bit. Then he can say what's really on his mind and influence politics without having to give in to conservatives.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wonder what JFK would have been like post-Presidency if he hadn't been killed. I think Obama is much like him, fairly young, respected and admired. I hope he and Michelle live to be 100! And have good health along the way.
President Obama has done more than JFK ever did or planned on doing.
Deletebesotted? obsessed? Proud of our president and his accomplishments. Proud of his Morals. Proud of his family.as Never have they embarrassed themselves or those who support him. Proud of his Values . Proud of his concern for our peoples welfare. Proud of his respect for peoples right to differ on opinion. the list goes on. what say you 8:29 for your scarecrow idol?
ReplyDeleteLook at the amazing accomplishments of Presidents Carter and Clinton..... and then there's Bush, painting his feet in the bath.
ReplyDeleteIt's rather interesting to compare the last 2 Presidents.
ReplyDeleteGWB was a businessman and Governor of our second largest state. As such, he should have been eminently qualified to run the country. He did. He ran it right into the ground, crashing the economy and starting 2 unnecessary and unwinnable wars based on lies. He lost the respect of millions of people around the world and created enemies that plague us to this day. The world is a much more dangerous place thanks to his policies.
On the other hand, we have a supposedly unqualified 'community organizer' with no real political or corporate experience. He took a country on the brink of financial collapse and, despite the other side obstructing every step he made, managed to pull us out of the rapidly deepening abyss. Our economy is stronger now than it's been in years, and most of our military troops are now home. He has regained the respect of people around the world, and has joined with other countries to fight terrorism, improve the world economy, and tackle climate change.
I'll take the community organizer over the idiot with the Daddy complex any day!
Hears a question that should make Oily Orlins head explode.
ReplyDeleteWhen President Obama takes his senate seat back will he be referred to as President Obama in the Senate chamber?
Or will it be President Senator Obama? Or President Obama? Or The honorable senator President Obama?
I'd rather see his as Justice President Obama.
DeleteSupreme Court would be better than the Senate.
Chief Justice Obama sounds nice... for either one of them!
DeleteAfter reading these replies all I can do is shake my head and say once again. Liberals are nuts.
DeleteUnlike so many past ex-presidents who used their status as a way to make money through speechifying, I see Obama as being more toward the Jimmy Carter side. Carter used his status to do good and motivate change. Homes for Humanity comes immediately to mind. While I don't see Obama on a roof with a hammer, I do see him using his status and influence to make change rather than make money. He's got money. He's got plenty of money. If he needs money, he'll just write another book. He isn't cut from the more is never enough cloth. He won't use his post presidential time to just make the same basic speech over and over again just to accumulate more money.
ReplyDeleteLol. How cute your naive admiration.
DeleteThe Obamas will be making lots-a money.
wow is that not the American way to make money. once we realize that our great country is on a roll the repub. will get the credit and that's ok but history will document the truth about him and his effort to save lives and our children.
ReplyDelete
