Rachel Maddow covers President Obama's exuberant speech about his administrations successes.

I watched this yesterday and I was laughing out loud at Obama's gibes at the Republicans over their predictions of catastrophe as a result of his presidency.

Instead we are seeing amazing progress and unprecedented job growth.

In short the man delivers. And as he points out so do almost all Democratic Presidents.

At one point during his speech the President challenged his audience to fact check him.

Politifact took him on that and found that the man speaks the truth.

I have to admit that sometimes when I see the President, especially the way he is today, I am overwhelmed with pride that I voted for him twice, and sometimes wish I could do so a third time.

I don't just "sometimes" wish I could vote for him a third time, I always wish I could vote for him again.

      Amen!

Anyone that braved the sub-zero temps the night we caucused in Muldoon and was blessed to be part of the energy that reverberated in the auditorium, hallways and classrooms for the voting will never forget the feeling of being a part of something so important, so life-changing. It was an honor to be there, an honor to have the privilege to vote freely and an honor to be able to vote for Obama! Hadn't felt that exhilaration since the Kennedy campaign - grateful to have experienced both waves and to know we were a part of something so profound. And, it's been an honor to have President Obama lead us and restore the dignity of the United States in the eyes of the rest of the free world.

I, too, wish I could vote for President Obama a third time! He's done an outstanding job in spite of the constant obstruction put out there by the Republicans/Teabaggers!

And, they are still giving him a horrible time even though he's not running again.

'That' Rudy G./New Yorker currently speaking out against President Obama is saying some pretty idiotic stuff about our good POTUS! He's indicated President Obama is un-American and doesn't like Americans?! Think Rudy forgot there are videos out there saying otherwise! Plus, President Obama's actions and work as our top leader indicate otherwise.

Rudy G. is nothing more than another Republican jerk making an utter fool of himself!

Rudy Giuliani's "All-American" upbringing included a father and uncle who were in the Mafia. His father couldn't serve in WWII because he was a felon. Rudy took as many deferments as he could to avoid fighting in Vietnam.
"Obama doesn't love you, Obama doesn't love me,"
said Hizzoner. Well, Rudy, Obama probably doesn't love you, and neither do we.
We're pretty sure he loves America, though.

Also, please explain what an anti-colonialist is, and why that's bad. The Revolutionary War was created and fought by our Founding Fathers, who were the first anti-colonialists.

How about DEBT: Durbin said the Obama administration was going to "reduce the overall debt of the United States by $3 trillion over the next 10 years."

Sorry, but his talk about the overall debt was ridiculously wrong. Instead of going down $3 trillion, the best estimate of the debt over the next 10 years is that it will rise by $8.6 trillion.

That's a difference of ... $11.6 trillion. That's real money to anyone. PolitiFact rated his statement Pants on Fire!

"Mostly" does not qualify as 100% Fact or 100% true. It simply means he spun enough yarn that it kinda looks like a sock.

Where was the talk about Slowing Down troops leaving Afghanistan, or sending 4,000 more to Kuwait, or wanting authority to wage global warfare against the enemy he, and he alone created: ISIS. Wht is he sending arme to Ukraine, Syria and other?
Why is he making eligible thousands of dollars in tax refunds to millions of illegals who never paid a penny in taxes?
Why is he secretly, behind closed doors, trying to fuck up the internet? Well, we don't know because it is mostly secret.
Again, snafu after snafu with Obamacare.

Yeah, this guy is a real marvel to behold.

You forgot all the scary things that were supposed to happen if he became president and then if he won a second term. Gas prices would be through the roof, unemployment would be at an all time high, the stock market would collapse, the economy would be in tatters. I hope you were as outraged when the Bush/Cheney gang started two wars and put them on the credit card, when Reagan gave amnesty to all those undocumented aliens, raised taxes 11 times and tripled the deficit.

One must assume you have not read the mission statement of this blog which clearly and unequivocally states:

I wish I could vote for our president a third time too. But, he and his family need a rest from this stressful office. Being a lifelong socially responsible person, he will undoubtedly do something of great significance when he "retires" from the office.

My heart aches about who the players will be in the next administration. I don't see anyone in the current line-up who will continue to move America forward, with immigration, foreign policy, fiscal responsibility, healthcare, no-more-wars, and renewable resources (climate change). Hillary is the closest bet, but I anticipate the Koch's and GOP have tricks up their sleeves to stop her from winning.

Aren't elections supposed to be fair? Isn't that a democracy? Why do the GOP prevent people from voting and tamper with voting machines? I hope that whatever they do, it backfires on them.

    1. Better yet, I believe that the Koch's already own HRC. Note their contributions to the Clinton foundation(s).

Whether you are for or against legalizing marijuana, this youtube with Bill Maher is quite entertaining, asking President Obama to pardon all the people in jail for non-violent drug charges before he leaves office.
