To open his show on Feb. 3, Ventura simply asks, "What do you get when you combine delusion, performance art, and a desperate need to remain relevant?" The former governor gives a quick response, "Sarah "the quitter" Palin, of course."
The beef between Ventura and Palin started when Palin attacked Ventura over his recent lawsuit against the estate of Chris Kyle. Claiming in his book to have knocked Ventura out, the former Minnesota governor sued Kyle and the book company for slander and defamation. After the jury found that there was not enough credible evidence to back Kyle's claims, Ventura cleared his name and was awarded $1.8 million. Following the jury's decision, Palin defended Kyle, who she says is a hero, and criticized Ventura, calling him a "jacka**" for suing a "military widow and her fatherless children."
When asked if he thought Kyle was a hero, Ventura didn't hold back. "My definition of a hero; a hero has to have honor. Unfortunately if you are a liar, you can't have honor," Ventura said.
"I'll be blunt. Chris Kyle is a liar and I proved it in court. And so there for, he can't have honor, so it disqualifies him from being a hero."
"Sarah Palin hinted at a 2016 run, trashed Michael Moore, and took aim at Hilary Clinton," Ventura points out, but questions what her motives really are. The former pro wrestler and actor noted that if Palin was to run and win the presidency in 2016, it would be important who her vice president was. Ventura brought up that Palin only served a half a term as governor of Alaska, after media scrutiny took a toll on her and her family.
I am not always a fan of Ventura's but I have to say that he is certainly in the catbird seat these days.
With all of the controversy surrounding Chris Kyle Ventura is the one person who can say that he proved that the man was a liar in a court of law.
And as for Palin well by taking on Ventura she was clearly punching above her weight class again.
And that line about the importance of Palin's running mate if she were to run for President?
That line is gold.

DeleteI read a lot of negative comments about Ventura's lawsuit. Some claimed he was going after a war widow. After reading more about the lawsuit (filed before Kyle's death) I believe Ventura is right and I am glad he won. Kyle lied was told not to name Ventura in his book, so he just did it in a promotional interview instead. The false story became popular and helped his book sales. What Kyle and his publishers did to Ventura was outrageous. So glad justice was served.

For those who don't know, Wasillans are planning to erect a statue in front of Wasilla City Hall honoring Sarah Palin. The design is done, they are just looking for a sculptor for the job.
It will be a 12 foot statue of Sarah Palin, and in her left hand she will be holding a copy of "Going Rogue". In her right hand will be placed a smaller statue of Bristol. The inscription on the base of this giant memorial will read "Between the two of us, we've screwed you all."
We already put a statue of Bristol's vagina in front of Wasilla High, I think we've done enough.

When I heard Sarah Palin say words to the effect that her side was a winner because of the huge box office popularity of "American Sniper" it made sense that it is pretty simple to go to war again. When America goes to war, America needs snipers, especially snipers that are heroes.

Pilot Tells Jake Tapper: Brian Williams Helicopter Did Take Fire
ReplyDeleteExplaining that he was piloting the Chinook helicopter following closely behind the one that was struck by an RPG, Krell said that his chopper “took small arms fire” in the attack. He said Williams “would have been aware of it because of the activity of the crew and the door gunners were returning fire” and said the small arms fire only creating some minor damage to the helicopter.
Leaving the RPG question aside, Tapper asked if Krell took issue with other parts of the story Williams has been telling for years, “that the helicopter took small arms fire and that he was scared.”
“Well, no, we were all scared. That’s the truth,” the pilot responded. He said could understand why members of the crew of the chopper that was struck by an RPG do “take issue” with Williams’ accounts. “I don’t think it was anything derogatory towards them,” he said. “I agree he needs to apologize and get the record set straight, but I don’t take offense to it personally, no.”
Asked once more if Williams is being “accurate” when he said the helicopter he was in took fire, Krell replied, “Yes, that is a true statement.”
