Quote of the morning.

Courtesy of Elizabeth Warren:

"If Scott Walker sees 100,000 teachers & firefighters as his enemies, maybe it's time we take a closer look at his friends.”

Excellent, excellent observation.

By the way Warren is hands down my daughter's favorite politician, and she wants her to run with Hillary so bad she can hardly stand it.

I think is everyone's favorite (she and Barney are the only sane members of Congress, as far as I can tell!) But I'd hate to see her leave the Senate, where she is doing such great stuff, for a VP slot where she'd mostly be an advisor. Better she stay where she is and do some real good for the country.

I agree with your daughter. Clinton has the power for the win. Warren has our backs. I would have preferred Warren with Franken or Sanders, but I think we need to look at who could actually win.
We have to win; President Obama has laid the groundwork to progress, and we can not go backwards now.

With all the old, white, gop doodoo birds in the Senate, we need to keep Elizabeth there as a voice of sanity and she can actually get things done. She would be wasted in the VP role. Warren is by far one of the most effective legislators of all time.

    1. I see her as becoming the leader of the Democrats in the Senate after Harry Reid, if/when he finally steps down.

I'd be thrilled to death with 99 just like her in the US Senate.
Oh who am I kidding, I'd be infinitely happy with 50 more...

I think Mass. will try its hardest to come up with a candidate the equal of E. Warren. She's a national treasure, wherever she is.

But she speaks truth to power, and Hillary's Wall St. pals won't like it.

Folks like warren used to be considered republican back in th day.. Today there are no more liberals left just moderate republicans and republicans . To be considered liberal one needs to be anti war . Period.

Back in the day Warren would still be a democrat. And please, do not put all liberals in one little box, we are individuals with our own thoughts and ideas, unlike republicans.

Warren is pro war. If we truly wish to care for veterans we need to stop reckless wars. Hillary is a professional pol. But guess what, she is a "dem" so the base will vote for her. This group think is not good. We need higher standards for our political aspirants.

    3. Your fallacious generalization that to be a liberal you have to be anti war is ridiculous.

We need Warren in the Senate. Also I think a two females ticket would be an obstable instead of an enhancer, sadly.

Equating teachers and firefighters with ISIS was a huge political blunder for Scott Walker. Warren's quote says it all!

Warren is the best. I disagree with your daughter that she should run as Hillary's VP. America will be best served by Warren remaining in the senate where she will have more actual power to effect change.

She started out as a special education teacher on an emergency certificate because her degree was in speech pathology.

  15. Sorry to disagree with your daughter, but we need Warren to run against Hillary and become the nominee herself.

Hillary has so much baggage I really can't believe she can win, no matter what the polls might say today. I know at least one person who will never, ever vote for Hillary because of her vote to authorize the Iraq War. Democrats overwhelmingly oppose the war, and it will be a tough sell to get lots and lots of Dems to the polls to vote for Hillary. It will also be tough to get lots and lots of young feminists to the polls to vote to put known sexual harasser Bill Clinton into the White House as First Gentleman (yuck).

It IS important that Democrats win in 2016. That's why we must nominate a fresh face who is speaking out in support of the middle class. Warren 2016!

    1. Warren would never win.

We need the strongest Democratic candidate possible for 2016, 2020, 2024, as long as it takes to get this country back on track.

We need a sure thing. Hillary is more of a sure thing than Warren is.

Personally, I'd love a Warren / Sanders ticket but that's not gonna happen either.

I smell a "concerned troll". Warren will be a very tough sell to the male population. Those same men will be much more likely to vote for Hillary. And most women will vote for a strong women like Hillary as well, her husbands issues will only be negative for those who are looking for a reason not to vote for her anyway.

Warren is an extremely valuable asset right where she is. She has the connections, the brains and the courage to get a lot accomplished in the Senate. Hopefully she can lead some of her fellow members of Congress in continuing the President's policies and minimizing the damage the GOP can do.

There's also my own Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, who's making a name for herself and promises to continue the legacy of powerful progressive women in Congress.
