Florida Democrats suggest Jeb Bush lawyer up after it was revealed he identified himself as Hispanic on voter registration form.

It was from a 2009 registration form.

Currently Jebbie is trying to laugh it off, but in fact it might not be something that can simply be dismissed with a shrug of the shoulders and an insincere mea culpa.

Some legal experts are saying that without evidence that Bush was trying to deceive it is unlikely he will face legal repercussions.

Political repercussions however.........

I cannot honestly believe that Jeb Bush has a chance. I honestly don't see it. His brother made sure of it!

I never thought dense "W" had a chance either. But with the bush machine, hogging all the donors, Hispanic family and busy/ lazy uninformed voters who vote against their own self interest - we should not rule him out. Money and family power are strong

W never would have been President if Anonymous had been around in 2000 and 2004. His daddy and Karl Rove stole both those elections for him. They tried in 2008 and 2012 too, but it didn't work thanks to Anonymous.

The Not-So-Supreme Court helped also, too! Imagine the uproar if President Obama had checked Caucasian on his voter registration? Even though he is 1/2 white. The hearings on THAT would make Benghazi look like small potatoes.

It would be sweet karma if Anonymous could go digging and publish all the juicy goods on the lying, treasonous palins and their enablers; then it will be "Mission Accomplished"!!

    5. The Rebub nominee in 2016 is Governor Nicki Haley. Be ready, this is no laughing matter. She's going to give Al Gore a real tussle (I'm assuming we don't succeed in drafting Senator Warren).

    6. W would never have been president if Gore had wanted to be. Now, he will--provided Liz Warren doesn't.

Is there any truths to the musings out there on Gore thinking of running? It would be really interesting if he did, that would make a hell of a conversation piece eh Gryph? It has been discussed out there on the interwebs.

I will be voting for a presidential candidate that takes his/her ballot seriously enough to not make careless "mistakes".

No one who makes that kind of mistake should be a nominee for president. If he is so stupid as to enter his "race" incorrectly, wtf else is he going to screw up?

By this logic, Sarah Palin is Native American.

    2. By this logic, I am male because I checked that box on the voter registration form because I am married to a man and gave birth to three baby boys (now, indubitably, men).

Republicans certainly aren't bright! First Todd Palin accidentally claimed to belong to the AIP (for seven years), thinking he was claiming to be an independent. Silly repugs, one thinks he is brown and the other thinks WE are that stoopid! Right, AIP Sarah Palin?

while i am hardly a fan of jeb bush, i must wonder what does it matter? i know i have checked wrong boxes before while hurrying through boring forms, so a mistake is not an improbability.

if you want to ascribe felonious motives to him, than ask yourself, what advantage could he possibly accrue to himself by claiming to be hispanic ? he already had about every advantage a person born on third base could want.

seems to me this is just noise, a distraction,an opportunity for democrats to try to nick him, all pretty standard stuff in the rarified atmosphere of presidential politics.

why even bother paying attention to something so minor, he has much bigger skeletons in his closet that need airing.

    1. Let's say it is just a mistake.

Do we really want a man that careless as Commander in Chief?

I consider voter registration important and take it quite seriously. I don't want someone as president who doesn't.

      Delete
    2. Anonymous11:43 AM

Yes... as much as it pains me to even remotely defend a "Bush", I just don't think this is more than a distraction. I don't see a motive to do this and in the absence of some self-benefit, it seems no more than a benign bit of negligence. I don't see many people developing outrage over it unless someone can show some self-beneficial intent, as we've all likely filled out forms without giving it our undivided attention.

It is not about motive. It is about carelessness. It is about a member of the Bush family, groomed for the office since early childhood, too privileged to consider the importance of honesty on his voter registration form. It is about a member of the very party trying so desperately to eliminate voters for just this sort of mistake, too privileged to be caught in the self-set trap. It is about enormous hypocrisy.

Can you imagine the uproar at Fox News if Hillary had done this ? They would be drooling all over themselves, but you won't hear a peep out of them 're:Jeb.

  8. Please don't do this Dems... it's Palin-worthy pettiness and dumber than birtherism. It's likely a mistake because what earthly gain could he have gotten from it? Let him hang himself on worthier issues.

    4. Sorry, but Democrats have taken the high road down the toilet.

Time to take some pages from the Republican handbook. They aren't going to pull any punches. So we should give better than we get for this once to keep the Oval Office blue.

I agree with you 11:43pm. I used to be a good Dem that was against guns and open or concealed carry and I'm still a Dem but have myself a really nice handgun and a concealed carry permit and I have to admit, it does make me feel a lot better when I'm out and about, shopping or at the hairdresser, having my trusty sidearm with me as there is way too much craziness in this world!

There are some pages we can take from the Republican handbook and carrying a firearm is one that happens to work for me, a lifelong Democrat.

      @12:45

Please assure us that you have arranged for someone to regularly check that you are mentally and physically able to control your "trusty sidearm". Even something as simple as a drug reaction can make you a danger to people around you if you are not in control and use your firearm. Alzheimer's, dementia, emotional turmoil, shock, etc. can make you an IR_responsible gun owner.

Anyone with a gun should have a designated person that is smart enough to take the gun away when it's no longer safe. Anyone that thinks they will ALWAYS be safe is lying to themselves and deliberately endangering hapless bystanders.

There are some pages we can take from the common sense handbook and telling people to be REAL responsible gun owners happens to work for me, a lifelong Democrat.

Ah the irony of Karmic Comedy. Jebby loves to throw out his love for the immigrants (while busy taking away their rights)- so much so that he accidentally even marked his voter card to claim that cultural identity! LMAO - when we really know there's no way in white jebus hell that he would want to be thought of as of Hispanic descent.

  14. Why is that question on ANY voter registration form? How does one's parentage have anything to do with eligibility to vote? What if one is adopted and doesn't know? The "what if..." questions are just so wide ranging that they could fill a book. How does one "translate" their genetic code into an answer to these kinds of questions. My mind is boggled.

It doesn't really matter at all when it comes to voting rights.
It's just another way for the guberment to force the information from you (under the penalty of perjury) if you want to exercise your right to vote.

    2. Anonymous1:58 PM

I was going to post a similar question. What does it matter what your ethnicity is when registering to vote? I'd recommend that all minorities in Florida just go ahead and mark "white" else they may find their names "accidentally" put on a list of felons who need to be purged before the next election.

  17. While I won't make too much of this, I'll also keep it 'at the ready' as reasons why I would not vote for JB.

Now, on Jeb's plus side is that he really does speak Spanish pretty darn well. Sarah Palin can't even talk correctly in one language most of the time. But I wonder what the ultra-fundies who don't like the immigrants would think of a First Lady Columba Bush (heck, I'm wondering what Columba would think of being First Lady - she is not exactly a media hound).

Add in a dash of Common Core and the Fastest Flip-Flop in the East on Indiana's Religious Freedom Laws, and you have ...

... one unattractive candidate I certainly will not vote for.

I'm thinking it was done on purpose. It would have eventually come out, but seems well timed as Bush is certainly hoping that Hispanic voters consider him an honorary Latino. Mexican wife ~ check. Middle of the road on immigration reform ~ check. Speaks fluid Spanish, well immersed in Latino culture and is a Texan. Check x three.

    Gee, I think not.

Take Hillbilly Bush off the lineup. That leaves us Canadian Cruz and Ayn Rand Paul.
