    That's right! They have to embrace the monster they created. Perfect example of exercising a short game plan without considering the long-term impact.

    The Teaparty started out being just about taxes and balanced budgets but soon morphed in to an unholy conflation of militant evangelical Christianity and scorched earth economics.

    Barry Goldwater warned us about these fanatical Christian Ayatollahs 25 years ago, and here's his famous quote:

    Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them."

      But Barry Goldwater predated Charles and David who have fed and nurtured the teabaggers for years now. They own the GOP.
