We are all Africans.

If image does not expand click here.
All of us, every single one of us, well except those people still living in Africa, are descendants of immigrants who bravely left their homeland to explore the world.

And yet today immigrants are the most vilified group on the planet.

Borders, territories, state lines are all the creation of man, and an attempt to lay claim to that which can never be owned and which should be open and accessible to every human on the planet without regard to their place of origin.

Because ultimately let's face it, THEIR place of origin, is OUR place of origin.

O/T: Americans United For Separation of Church and State has an article about U.S. charities proselytizing overseas using public funds.

Among the worst offenders: Samaritan’s Purse. The Boone, N.C., based charity, founded by Franklin Graham, is active in India, and conducts international aid projects with the intent to evangelize local beneficiaries. That makes sense given who runs it: Graham, son of Billy, is infamous for making inflammatory remarks about Muslims, atheists and LGBT people, and there’s no question that his charity work is intended to double as a conversion tactic.

Close but not exact. Each of us has unique DNA and it is the one and only. We all have the basic strand and then it varies from there. This is also the new and lastest medical revolution in healthcare. Customized healthcare according to your DNA. Each of us has inherited risk, drug response, and predicted health issues. We can solve many diseases in families, We can have better outcomes in treatments and we can lower risk. And then the Ancestry? wow is it interesting. Everyone has a story and path that brought them to here. Today.

  7. I read a couple books about this last year. It's amazing stuff. DNA analysis on old bones has revealed a lot in just the last couple of years.

"Some 75,000 years ago a super-eruption from the site of Lake Toba in Sumatra blasted out more than two hundred cubic miles of ash over an area of over a million square miles. This program investigates the devastating aftermath of the most powerful volcano of the last twenty-five million years - including the theory that it triggered a human genetic bottleneck leaving a tiny band, as low as a few thousand survivors to preserve the human race - and looks at the threat of super-volcanoes in the 21st century."

About 10 years ago, I saw a documentary on PBS called "Journey of Man" about a geneticist named Spencer Wells who used DNA analysis to track the migration of humans. It basically said the same thing...modern humans (okay, so some conservatives have a ways to go to earn that designation!) all originated in Africa.

It was fascinating in the way it showed, through genetic comparison, how the changes in physical characteristics, including skin color, evolved as an adaptation to the environment. It also explained why and how the various groups moved to new territory, and the routes they took.

  11. And yet, all the posters at C4P and every right wing talk show host have proclaimed that borders (exclusion, dominion, and artificial boundaries) are THE most important feature of a country.

Yes indeed. since I am 97% uk but born in America....dual citizenship should be given. We are in a very unique time in history. DNA connects almost every American today to UK and elsewhere. Its sorts out the melted pot. Truth And with much grace.

You only have to look at Australia: the world's oldest surviving civilization (at least 40,000 years) and the world's highest rate of skin cancer from the white population which hasn't evolved to belong here.

The cradle of civilization. If there was a Jesus, he'd have darker skin and different characteristics than those who painted what they thought (or should that be "believed") he looked like. What I wonder is why people make divisions and borders arbitrarily.

We all started from one tiny group and diverged into many different races and ethnic groups. Now, through interracial marriage, we're seeing more and more people blending back together again.

One more giant Circle of Life, perhaps?
