Darn those lesbian mayors!

You know rather than be angry at a woman who just so happens to love women, why not be angry at a god that would drown a bunch of your fellow citizens as punishment for it?

And since supposedly God sends messages through the weather, I wonder how these folks would explain this?

What do you think? Lesbian pastor perhaps?

Just goes to prove that not all of us evolved at quite the same pace.

The mayor was interviewed by the beautiful, adorable, funny, smart Rachel Maddow a couple of days ago.

    There you have it.

    Long may they reign.

beautiful, adorable, funny, smart, and sold out.

do you remember the day she had on the 9/11 "Truth" debunking books she was hawking? How she hopped up on the party-line bullshit? After that, i see her as just another hack, corporate lackey, although w/good writers perhaps.

Hey Rachel! WTF happened to WTC-7?

I don't think the GOP has evolved at all past the caveman stage. You know, their main goal in life was to kill prey, drag it home, and let the little woman skin it and cook it.

2:52, I must respectfully disagree. The OLD GOP - you know, back in the sixties and earlier - were considerably better about most things. However, since the holy rollers have gained control of the party - one of Barry Goldwater's fears - things have rotted to the point that I feel the GOP has DEvolved!

If they like signs so much, they should compare maps of the bible belt and the tornado belt. Ho-ly-shit.

Ever wonder if it is the haters that are being disciplined by their God, but who are too stupid to ask themselves if maybe they are the target, the ones He is screaming at? Maybe if they were not so totally hateful to all they don't understand the world would be better off? Maybe if they showed some tolerance instead of hate the weather would slam them so often? Nah, never happen. They are incapable of any introspection at all.

4:24, I am certain of one thing along those lines: They are all so blatant about claiming to want world peace, but would be totally horrified at the idea of TOLERANCE to ALL being the key to that goal. They are taught from the time of comprehension that all religions except their own are wrong and vicious and don't deserve to survive.

Drowning in blood? Those folks at Repent need to talk to ATI about their curriculum. Texas isn't flooded by blood. They are drowning in water - silly people.

On a serious note - my thoughts are with those (people and animals) who are harmed by the floods. I do live my life for the good of all and may it harm none.

    That said - WTF RWNJ?

Ignore climate change data, tell the Feds you don't want their stinking 'Anything', and then cry because your state did not prepare for this sort of disaster and help help help because it's me that needs help, not anyone else.

May we please all put on our big people pants from now on and address the issues in front of us? Like adults? I am so very tired of being the only person in the room using skills and manners. Climate change is here. Events will play out that the storms are bigger, stronger, and have the capacity to destroy more. It's like those scientists said - change is coming. How we deal with it is up to us.

Based on the response from Repent, they are going for business as usual. UGH!

    Occupy USA
They thought to bury us, they did not realize we are seeds.

So why don't these idiots get the hint that God is sending them earthquakes to get them to stop fracking? Do they need to be hit over the head to see the obvious connection?

As I lifelong Houstonian, this offensive sign really bothers me. Natural weather "issues" affect us all & many of them are related to climate change. I don't know which is more sad...our recent local news reports or the fact that there are such hate filled people in the world. Annise Parker has done a fine job - despite having to deal with people such as Ted Cruz, Greg Abbott & Pretty Boy Perry.

Very true. Everyone is born equal, but only a few minutes after birth that all begins to change.

Is this the same God who apparently sprung into existence on his own, created a universe of infinite galaxies, solar systems, and planets, chose Earth for special attention, created woman from a man and then chatted with them about morality etc? Not to mention the time it took to develop DNA, atomic particles, etc.
I mean, that's some serious planning and creating. You've really got to be impressed with a creator who can do stuff like that. It takes one hell of a workshop for that kind of undertaking. And yet with those astounding, staggering capabilities, the only way he can articulate his displeasure with the election of a lesbian mayor is to whip up a storm? Come on, why not just appear and say, "This stuff pisses me off!" That way there is no confusing climate change for the wrath of God.

  13. What's taking him so long, did somebody forget to nudge Rev. Robertson? "Wake up Pat, there's something new to blame on marriage equality?"

I live in Texas and we have been flooded all over the place, but it would seem to me it has more to do with climate change than anything. Humans have devastated the earth and there is a price to pay. For all the climate change deniers, you are insane to think you can destroy and pollute and not have consequences. We do have a lesbian sheriff in Dallas too, so really the large cities in Texas are much more liberal. It is the rural areas and many suburbs that are the problem. I ran into a man, who tried to talk to me and flirt with me at a Walgreens one day. I went outside, trying to get away from him, and he followed me. I almost barfed when I saw his truck with McCain/Palin stickers on it and a big flag emblem. It was before the election and I am SO glad his candidate lost.

Wow, why would a god be so angry at lesbians and planned parenthood, and allow heteros and kids to die and suffer in floods?
Who bleeds clear and deep enough for cars to submerge?

  17. I wonder why God did not restrict the flooding to Houston, and spare all of those good Texans who elected male mayors, the way the intended things to be.

Well, the last time Houston flooded was when tropical storm Allison rolled through. We had the same level of flooding and Lee Brown was mayor.
