Forget Nostradamus, the real prognosticator was Nikola Tesla.

Nikola Tesla 1926:

"When wireless is perfectly applied the whole earth will be converted into a huge brain, which in fact it is, all things being particles of a real and rhythmic whole. We shall be able to communicate with one another instantly, irrespective of distance. Not only this, but through television and telephony we shall see and hear one another as perfectly as though we were face to face, despite intervening distances of thousands of miles; and the instruments through which we shall be able to do his will be amazingly simple compared with our present telephone. A man will be able to carry one in his vest pocket."

Almost ninety years ago this man predicted the future we are living today, including cell phones and the internet.

Tesla is one of my daughter's all time heroes, along with his contemporary counterpart Elon Musk.

What can I say? I raised her right.

  1. If he came back today, I'm not sure which would startle him more -- the spectacular fulfillment of his prediction in the internet, or the fact that so much of the "world brain" is dedicated to spreading cat pictures, porn, and right-wing propaganda far more inane than either of those.

There's as much Jesus on the Internet as there is cat porn, it depends on for what one is looking.

However, i believe Elon is channeling Nikola regarding AI.

The two people I would love to invite for dinner are Elon Musk and you, Gryph. What a fascinating evening it would be.

If you have not watched Elon Musk's presentation of his new PowerWall, here it is. 18 minutes of AWESOMENESS. I truly believe the Powerwall will be the development that will stave off climate change. It is affordable, beautiful, efficient and when you combine it with a plug-in electric car and solar panels, you'll put the fossil fuel companies out of business. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yKORsrlN-2k

Hi Gryphen! Truly prophetic words spoken by a true visionary! The "wireless world" we live in today owes a huge debt of gratitude to intellectuals such as Mr. Tesla! I also admire Mr. Musk for carrying on his name in such a remarkable car; owning one is high priority on my bucket list! I still shake my head at the stupidity and narrow-mindedness of simple fools, such as palin, who criticized the fact that Tesla Motors received federal stimulus assistance a couple of years ago. The fuckin' moron and her minions tried to rub it into them with her retarded "drill baby drill" drivel, but it back-fired on them, as intelligent people realized the potential of this great advance in technology. The world is moving on away from idiots like palin; she is going to have that drill rod shoved up her ass!

    Amen to that.

And, yeah Gryph.....if your daughter has Tesla as one of her heroes, you raised her right.

    quote from Tesla on wiki:

...man's new sense of pity began to interfere with the ruthless workings of nature. The only method compatible with our notions of civilization and the race is to prevent the breeding of the unfit by sterilization and the deliberate guidance of the mating instinct ... The trend of opinion among eugenists is that we must make marriage more difficult. Certainly no one who is not a desirable parent should be permitted to produce progeny. A century from now it will no more occur to a normal person to mate with a person eugenically unfit than to marry a habitual criminal.

    1. And Dr. Seuss drew racist cartoons for the military during WWII.

Considering the extent to which our population is overwhelming this planet, I wouldn't be surprised if a century or two from now what Tesla says does in fact come true. For the human race to survive we may have to live in the world of Gattica.

  7. Your daughter has great taste.

The text waited a little, because these superficial gay eyes were first stopped at the picture. Take it from me, with the wavy hair, the fixed gaze and the pushbroom mustache, in addition to his genius, Tesla was a formidable male babe for his times too.

Reading Tesla's biography, makes you very angry. Assholes like J.P. Morgan, who already had hoarded enough money that he and his great great grandchildren, would never be able to spend it all, ruined Tesla's life, with their unbridled greed.

Tesla wanted to make it so everyone on earth would get FREE electrical power...but thanks to Thomas Edison and others, that didn't happen.

Of all the amazing stories of Tesla's life, this is the one I love the most:

He was given a Rolls Royce vehicle to experiment with...and created a simple drive train, hooked up via two wires, to a black box. On its test run, it managed to get up to 90 mph.

The reaction of the people witnessing this, ranged from fear of his being a witch or an alien, to simple jealous hatred.

It pissed him off so much, that he yanked the black box out from under the hood, left the area, and no one has ever seen that box again...so we have NO idea what the hell it contained.

    1. Tesla was truly a genius. Probably more so than Edison.

But Tesla was also Italian and the bigotry of the time has served to suppress his accomplishments.

Leave it to a gullible lib to promote a hoax story if it fits their leanings. The Tesla Black Box hoax story is one of the biggest Tesla fallacies out there. There was no car that he yanked the engine out of, there was no mystery black box by Telsla that powered the car around at 90 mph. There was none of this (not to mention the ridiculous physical impossibilities of such a thing). Never happened. God you guys are morons.

Oh, aren't YOU just the world's foremost fucking authority?

Your hateful attitude shows up so well, anyone can tell in a single sentence that you are a selfish, fearful, jealous rightwingnut--with few if any friends.

I took the story from a best selling book on Tesla's life...where did you get YOUR information from? Fox "News?" "The National Enquirer?"

It is a hoax story 8:15. A hoax story.

Sorry you fell for it. Btw you might also want to take note of the factual accuracy (cough) of best selling books, combined with your gullible senses, as well as your obvious lack of understanding of physics and other sciences, that could actually allow you to believe such a tremendous impossibility.

Sorry to have to be the one to let you know, you are not smart.

I'm a self made multi-millionaire, and have so many good friends I can't make the time for them all.

I enjoy laughing, especially at assholes who think they are smart, and signal when they lose an argument, by being unable to provide anything other than smarmy attacking comments like yours.

Let me just guess: you've been whining about the big black scary President now, for six freaking years, right? Its a pathetic cry for attention.

People who know their silly little lives have no meaning or purpose, scream out, "LOOKA ME! I'm such an important person that everything said or done by the President of the United States, affects me tremendously!"

No, it actually doesn't. What the mayor of your town does and says probably doesn't work its way down to making the slightest alteration in your existence.

I'll bet you don't even know that person's name.

Oh Jesus... it is the 'supposed' self made milionaire type internet poster! Let us all bow to your internet riches because you have declared yourself the internet richest!! Is this how you settle things when you realize you've been called out on your internet stupidity?

Hahahahaaaaaa. Talk about flying off the handle!! Mr. 'self made millionaire'. You are a moron. There was no Nikola Tesla 'mystery box' that powered a 30's Rolls Royce around at 90 mph. It is an old hoax, a well known one. Has that sunk in yet? You can find out about it yourself, not that you should have to due to the obvious physical and scientific impossibilities of such a contraption.

You ever heard the term, "if it is too good to be true it probably isn't"?

Oh and BTW, I'm an internet billionaire!

I'd say more like an internet butthole.

My "bragging" about myself was in response to your juvenile comments about what a stupid fool I must be...your judgment based solely on your delusions.

I researched further the claim of the "black box" and sure enough, there are those (who sound suspiciously like Fox news commentators) who call it all a hoax, based on how there is no PROOF of it.

That was the entire POINT of the event: there were such people at the time, who pissed Tesla off, so he figured they didn't deserve to be given the benefit of his research--and instead of letting yet another criminal take credit for it, he quashed the whole thing.

So, having read one of those National Enquirer type poo poo stories, you present yourself as the world's foremost authority on Tesla.

I smell your comments elsewhere on this page. Does it not occur to you that there is something indicative of a serious personality defect, that you take such weird pleasure out of telling others that they are stupid, and that only you know the truth of everything?

Use some of your billions to seek professional help.

See 8:47 that is the problem right there.

You are still believing the story. Again, It is a hoax! Beat that into your little head!

You really just can't -not- believe it can you?

Apparently to you, the proof, is that there was no proof. LOL.

You really are just a total dummy clinging on to hope that there is some magical little black box device and technology out there that makes endless energy, or can at least power a rolls royce around at 90 mph back in the 30's. Do you have any idea how dumb you have to be to believe that? Get some knowledge of science and physics, including the history and advancements of technology.

  9. Tesla was highly underrated and still is.

He was robbed during his lifetime and is dismissed after his death.

But he does have a really cool car company named after him and hopefully his genius and legacy will start to become more well known.

    2. The supreme court awarded the "invention" of the radio to Tesla. Marconi and Tesla were long dead and too many people still think Marconi was the inventor. They have no idea their world would be completely different without him.

Alternating Current in the U.S.? Tesla.

      Neon and Fluorescent lights? Tesla.

      Remote control? Tesla.

He didn't invent any of those things mlaiupa....

Tesla was no dummy, he payed attention to emerging technologies and inventions around the world and by others, and in many cases built on that, or was smart enough to know that it would gain traction in the US.... but all these inventions you list as being his, that is a laugh. In addition all these 'predictions' you list, anyone with working knowledge in the same field had the same predictive base as Tesla. Much like Musk (who is entertaining), Tesla was a self promoter, and somehow it stuck as larger than life thru the ages.

You DID raise her right. Da Vinci is another one. To think of something and describe it so clearly was amazing, and now we take it for granted. Can't wait for the car to become more affordable. Not only is it technologically advanced, it's luxurious and adapts itself to different drivers.

  11. What Tesla didn't invent he predicted.

    Inventions:

    Tesla Polyphase system.

    Alternating current.

Electric motor with rotating magnetic fields.

    Neon and Fluorescent lights.

    Radio

    Tesla Coil

    High frequency generators

    Coupled and tuned circuits.

    Rotary and series spark gaps.

    Oil-insulated transformers and condensers.

Mica condensers impregnated with wax under vacuum.

    Stranded conductors.

    Aerial and ground connection.

Selective tuning by beat waves or heterodyning.

    Arcs for producing continuous waves.

    "Ticker" for receiving continuous waves.

    Choke coils.

    Radio-Controlled Vessels I.E. remote control

High frequency induction furnace and heating

    Electro-therapeutics (diathermy)

    Speedometer

    Synchronous electric clocks

    Radar

    Predictions:

Facsimile -"World Wireless,. of 1900, Tesla proposed: "The interconnection and operation of all the telephone exchanges on the globe; the world transmission of typed or hand-written characters, letters, checks, etc.; the inauguration of a system of world printing; the world reproduction of photographs and all kinds of drawings or records." Prof. Arthur Korn, who actually sent the first pictures by wireless, credits Tesla with some of his system.

Other "predictions" cover Broadcasting, robotics, lasers and wireless communications.

Tesla also predicted being able to broadcast electrical power wirelessly. I believe this was accomplished on a limited basis a few years ago.

One thing is for sure, you are a great example how humans have a really hard time accepting anything but the myths they choose, or have been led to believe about their favorite heroes, especially the ones that are portrayed as the 'underdogs'. The greatest invention of Tesla- was probably the many myths of the man himself.

No it isn't just one thing. Most the inventions mliuppa credits above to Tesla are false too, but those are actual things and inventions, he just didn't invent them, they were invented by others- he may have played a hand or copycatted, or been the first to push the technology in America, or the like. But what you are talking about isn't even an 'invention' by anyone, it is a 'mystery magical black box' lol. Tesla does deserve some mention in the history books, he wasn't a complete nobody, but 95% of what people believe is attributed to him is false and hype.
