Woman gets three and a half years for running down husband with her SUV because he did not vote for Mitt Romney.

Courtesy of AZ Family:

A judge has sentenced an Arizona woman to 3 1/2 years in prison for running over her husband with an SUV because he didn't vote in the 2012 presidential election.

Thirty-one-year-old Holly Nicole Solomon, of Mesa, pleaded guilty to assault charges stemming from injuries her husband suffered days after President Barack Obama was re-elected. She was sentenced on Thursday.

Authorities say Solomon was upset about Obama's re-election and began arguing with her husband when she found out he didn't vote.

Her husband told investigators Solomon believed her family would face hardship as a result of Obama's re-election.

Police say Solomon chased her husband through a parking lot, circled him as hid behind a light pole, struck him and pinned him under the vehicle as he tried to flee.

Wow, I knew that Republicans who voted for Mitt Romney were probably a little unhinged, but this takes it to a whole new level.

However you have to admit that the woman wasn't wrong. Her family really DID face hardship after the reelection of President Obama.

Gryphen, I appreciate and thank you for your constant vigil in your effort to keep your devotees of IM apprised of relevant newsworthy items. Thank you.
I want to just say one thing: and please bear with me fellow IM devotees: I want to remember and thank my pop for his service in WWII. He enlisted in 1939 in Canada and was promptly given a 'crash course on flying' and sent to England just in time for the Battle Of Britain. He made it through; came home to the U.S. In 1946 but was never afforded 'veterans benefits.' Why? Because he would have had to denounce his U.S. citizenship and he wouldn't do that. He's not buried in a veterans cemetery. No, just a simple little grave on a simple little green hill in a simple little town in California. He's my hero. Thanks, pop.

  3. Surprised she didn't run over him a few more times seeing as how awful her life has probably been. And it was all her husband's fault.

I sincerely hope that was sarcasm. If not, that is one HELL of an assumption!

Wonder if Medicaid expansion or the ACA (Obamacare) allowed them to avoid bankruptcy due to medical bills they faced as a result of his injuries?

My daughter's Neanderthal / Fox News / Savage Nation boyfriend, who smugly taunted us about how badly Obama would lose, broke up with her after the election. His reason: she was on antidepressants, and he knew Obama had a list of gun owners (him) and the mentally ill (her??) and they would be cross-checked. They'd come for his guns because of her. Oy... Unfortunately, they got back together a year later, but at least they're not living together and they don't talk politics. As someone who volunteered for Obama and who still proudly displays her Obama Biden 2008 bumper sticker, I cannot tell you how painful it is to hear him spout utter nonsense with such conviction. There is no reasoning with him; he just talks louder until he's yelling. It truly is an illness.

It's YOUR home. Tell him point blank either leave the subject alone or leave.

I would hope the resulting explosion would tend to make your daughter see the lunacy of sticking with him.

Please bear with me as I am old, Gryph....but what exactly did you mean by that statement?

She got nearly as long a term in prison as President Obama did for his second term in office.

I'd bet that husband/ex-husband will never vote, just to spite her. Or because he's too busy at the track or in front of the TV.

Did Mitt Romney lose Arizona's electoral votes by only one ballot? If so, she might have had a reason to be furious, although there may have been more people besides her spouse who didn't vote. If Romney lost by more than a couple of votes, well, she had no case. Of course, it should be Ann Romney, in her Cadillac that flew to Arizona to take vengeance on the single non-voter.
Did her auto insurance pay for repairs for "running over spouse and damaging the front end of the car?"

Now, I've visited parts of Arizona and for the most part, they were cordial and friendly, but this woman's face has that "Stepford Wives" look to it, kind of like Sarah, only younger and with her own hair.
Seeing the fiasco of the justice system in Arizona in a few cases, I have a feeling she'll be out on good behavior in less than half her sentence. I hope they took away her driving privileges for life.

There has been a lot of talk lately about the brainwashing of conservatives. There it is... right there. She was CONVINCED that the world, her world, was coming to an end if Obama was re-elected. That is the faux news effect.
