An exhaustive probe dug up the shocking revelation that the married agent assigned to protect Michelle was busy trying to hook up with a prominent female Washington D.C. staffer and ignored his duties.
Racy text messages and a graphic “selfie” that the agent snapped and sent to the woman were also discovered during the probe.
Agents brought the woman who received the incriminating phone messages to Secret Service HQ in Washington D.C., where she spent “three hours answering questions,” the source tells Radar.
“They went through her phone and pulled every pertinent text and photo related to the agent,” continues the source, who notes agents “asked the woman if she planned to go to the media” and “made her sign a non-disclosure agreement.”
“They are in cleanup mode now because they know it’s about to be a bigger story somehow,” says the source.
Seriously folks WTF?
This Secret Service agent is trying to get his wick wet rather than protect the First Lady of the United States of America?
If I were the President I would rip this guy a new one, and make sure he never worked in any law enforcement capacity for the remainder of his life.
And this is not the first time, by any means, that the Secret Service has dropped the ball.
Here is a laundry list of Secret Service screw-ups since President Obama took office.
I swear if any harm befalls this family the very first place the investigation should start is within the Secret Service itself. Either through incompetence or malice, that is where the trail will likely start.

DeleteFirst off, it is the JOB of the US Secret Service to protect the POTUS and his/her family, duly authorized by Congress and financially supported by them. WE are paying them to protect the POTUS and his/her family. Until President Obama took office, the protection services were quite good - or at least, there were no major scandals as have broken about this POTUS. AFTER he was inaugurated, it became lax.
Second, the Murdoch media organization would dearly love to see the current POTUS out of office (I suspect, by any means) so they certainly aren't going to be the ones to make it "into a huge scandal". And to most citizens of the U.S., it SHOULD be a major scandal, regardless of how they feel about the person holding the office! Even that murdering pig Dubya received better protection, and that's disgusting, but I supported that even though I found him to be grossly ignorant and so on and so on....

And while I agree with you about her brains and competency, protection is a specialty and should not be something she needs to learn or handle.
What "vast resources" does Michelle Obama have? Granted she is extremely intelligent and capable she is not some billionaire with a collection of gigantic paid body guards (a la Kim Kardashian). Mrs. Obama is the First Lady of this country and any person whose job it is to protect her should be doing that and nothing else while on duty.

It is totally unconscionable that - even with all the scandals that have come out over the last few years - they STILL keep on diddling around. I do not understand why President Obama did not simply get rid of the whole crew after the first scandal broke, and hired a new team that was entirely on HIS side, and not on the side of those who wouldn't mind seeing our President encountering harm. Threats agains HIM have increased by more than 400% in comparison to former Presidents - including DumbYa.
Not to pile on, but what everyone else said. You're paid to protect the first family, and your salary is paid for by taix payers. We're still footing the bill to protect every living President.

ReplyDeleteAs much as I hate the militarization of any type of police force, I really do think it's time for the Marines( or a combo of all branches, can you imagine an elite elected force, much like the Swiss guard) to take over all duties of the SS. First of all, there could be a lot more oversight into their personal lives before they were selected. Secondly, they would be the top notch "best and brightest" most likely those that wanted to make a career out of the service.

He has betrayed two oaths, to his wife and to his country. His bosses have the evidence (attorneys can argue about the meaning of texts, but a dick pic selfie is beyond refutation).
Fire him "for cause" without benefits.
Dereliction of duty is a firing offense, made worse by the constant barrage of threats against the First Family. Even if testimony is given, his oath is worthless.
Honor is not the same as religion. The staffing of the Secret Service needs a complete shakeup.
Maybe the Secret Service should start hiring eunuchs for Presidential/First Lady duties.

ReplyDeleteI know the job is supposed to be non-partisan but they do draw from military and law enforcement and partisanship is seeping in to everything.
Is this just a symptom of shoddy training and management or is it a sign of something deeper and systemic?
