This man cannot return to TV fast enough for me.

This is the message I give my daughter all of the time.

What a beautiful, thoughtful post to read first thing in the morning.

    Thank you.

I like Colbert, but it's a fine line between cynicism and healthy skepticism.

I love me some Stephen Colbert. I think he's the tops. But in this case, I think he's wrong. What is cynicism? Simply noticing that people's actions and people's words don't match up. Those of us who realized quickly the Sno Ho was not VP material got there by realizing her super-Christian "hawkee maum" schtick didn't match who she actually was, were the first ones to say "oh, hell no!" Saying yes to the Shrilla from Wasilla would not have let anything grow; it would have sunk the country.

  5. It's a good message for all of us, young and old. Cynicism is what keeps people from the polls -- if progressives/Democrats don't vote in 2016, their cynical belief that politics can't change anything will come true and a Republican victory will send America back 100 years. America is at a critical turning point -- will the revolution that's brewing be humanist or regressive?

Think about that, you IM people who don't want Hillary (if indeed she gets the nomination) so won't vote. You want to give away your rights to the American Taliban?

Barbara, it never ceases to amaze me the number of people who cannot understand this simple statement: The ONLY wasted vote is one NOT cast.

Excellent quote and a great "teachable moment" for the young.
Your daughter's fortunate to have a Dad like you.

  7. Stephen Colbert is a religious man, specifically a Roman Catholic. Gryphen is a cynic.
