Morality is not determined by the church you attend nor the faith you embrace. It is determined by the quality of your character and the positive impact you have on those you meet along your journey

Hypocritical outrage image of the day.
Remember kids, you can only crap on military heroes, when they are Democratic military heroes.
The fact that there are people who believe the propaganda from the gop is a sign of the stupidity of some Americans. The politicians who kept silent during all this sre cowards, most of whom never served. Mc Cain has used his status as POW all these years, he is a creepy little excuse for a man. Explosive temper, foul mouth, all excused because of his service. I RESPECT John Kerrey, never will I respect McCain, NEVER.
And let us not forget, McCain was over in the middle east being chummy with ISIS and wanting to arm them. Some here, eh? Guess the GOP has conveniently forgotten about that little but of treason....
They did the same shit to the Roosevelts during WW2. This country is chuck full of racists and bigots and just plain old haters.Nothings changed except maybe they are louder now.Best advice ignore them. They are losers.
We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that the worst thing that Trump said that day was that he didn't like anyone who gets captured. He broadened the criticism instead of backing down. So, now, anyone, who has the the ill fortune to put himself/herself in danger for a noble cause and gets caught by the enemy, is automatically unworthy of Trump's concern. If, you aren't his kind of winner, you're a loser. Imagine Trump the Chump in the White House! It's simply an unacceptable thought. Beaglemom
After WWII, Stalin had all the Russian soldiers who had been taken prisoner by the Germans executed, because they should have chosen death over the shame of being captured.
So, I guess this means Donald Trump must be a communist, right??
Seen on a bumper sticker earlier today, "I'm the proud parent of a 7th grader who hasnt shot any of his classmates yet. But he does sell drugs to your honor student".
And let us not forget that during the 2008 campaign Republicans were just fine with Johnny Walnuts and repeatedly referred to him as a hero. Back then Republicans conveniently quashed McCain's war record and focused on Obama, his birth cert and Jeremiah Wright instead.
And, look at Donald Trump - couldn't go to war because of his feet, but played golf, etc. (Viet Nam war)
But, have to also say that many, many young men in America did obtain deferments from participating in that war. Many moved to Canada as an example.
I remember that war so well as my brother was a participant - and, he did come back home - but rarely speaks of his experience all these years later.
War is Hell on all concerned and negotiations should be worked on prior to ever taking that step. So love and appreciate the way President Obama and VP Biden have handled things even though they've been constantly ridiculed by Republicans who are the 'war mongers'! They are 'negotiators' and don't want war! Thank you, Mr. President!
" “The Bush campaign is trying to define John Kerry now, but for my money, the defining moment was 35 years ago when both of these young men, graduating from Yale from favored families, had a defining moment in their lives, ... John choose to volunteer and serve his country and risk his life doing so. George Bush did not.”
Let us forget. John comes from a military and was placed into his service for his future. Today. Lots and lots of questions from many regarding his service, his behavior, his anger, his honor. Arranged honor and hero we have in many families. Playing the military card. Can or will we the usa ever quit fighting the senseless wars and concentrate on the tech wars and cockroaches.
The way America can fight wars today is far different than it use to be. I just want us to stop protecting everyone else in other countries. Plus, I want to stop sending Israel money due to the jerk that is governing their country. They are healthy financially and the majority of Americans would like to see 'our' money going to them!!! I doubt seriously that many in America do not want to protect that country!
I know it's selfish, but we need to take care of our own - to include our veterans that have been so horribly hurt and maimed in current and previous wars.
Our Republican politicians 'use' our veterans and always appear to want war! They seem to care less that our young men and women are killed in battle. And, be assured as well that few of our Republicans serving in Congress (or have been governors of states), do not send their kids to war! Heaven forbid! (i.e. Mitt Romney!)
The GOP has gotten away far too long with smearing candidates, it needs to stop and each time it happens they need to be publicly shamed.
The members of Congress that disrespect President Obama should be sanctioned immediate, enough with their insincere, I really meant something else apologies.
They are like children, they need to be taught manners.
It's ok if you're a republican. Or filthy rich and can "buy" a deferment for flat feet etc. etc. But if you're middle class or lower and don't have that at your disposal, you've got one choice when your number's called. A friend of my brother's served in Viet Nam, he was one of the last to come home, and the way Viet Nam vets were mistreated is a stain on country. He was spat on and demeaned by others who thought the Viet Nam war was somehow "lesser than" other wars we were engaged in before. The VA hospital experience was rife with red tape, just to get his medications refilled was often an all day affair or more. He rarely saw the same doctor twice, which caused other delays and problems. I can't imagine how the patients in beds were treated. What bothers me most is the lack of respect and empathy shown now, especially by the GOP.
Disgraceful. Simply disgraceful.
ReplyDeleteTypical for republicans.

ReplyDeleteWell said.
DeleteAnd let us not forget, McCain was over in the middle east being chummy with ISIS and wanting to arm them. Some here, eh? Guess the GOP has conveniently forgotten about that little but of treason....
ReplyDeleteAs I recall, McCain also had his photo taken with them! It was published by the media! The guy is a horrible statesman!
DeleteYeah, I think it's time for that photo to be circulated again, especially since the GOP is using ISIS for all fear tactic related items.

The GOP are jerks as a whole! Vote them out of office every chance you get.
ReplyDeleteOne thing regarding Trump's recent comments. He's got us talking!
Our heroes don't get captured. Trump should fucking love them.

ReplyDeleteI like this one:
DeleteMy child is a honor student, my governor is a moron.

ReplyDeleteSheesh
OT/ but mistreatment is rampant:

Saxby Chambliss, who smeared Max Cleland, avoided the draft because of a supposed "bad knee".
ReplyDeleteNot bad enough to keep him off of golf or tennis courts, but certainly bad enough to get him out of service to his country.

Hers an excellent quote from Max Cleland;

ReplyDeleteThe entire cast of clowns for the fox news event are ready. Ready to continue the show. When will that party of zero's get it?

Thankfully, Joe Walsh was voted out of office in the primaries and Tammy Duckworth is now our U.S. Representative.
