The Girl Scouts ended up sleeping in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, according to a White House official.
But before the weather took a turn, the Girl Scouts sang campfires songs like "Love Being a girl Scout" with the President and the First Lady, practiced pitching tents, tying knots, and got a star-gazing lesson from NASA astronaut Cady Coleman.
As the President got ready to leave for the night, he told the girls "You guys are having so much fun, but unfortunately, I've got to go to work."
Some Girl Scouts were not pleased but Obama quickly added "but we can have a group hug," and all fifty scouts swarmed around him.
Hey just for fun imagine these Girl Scouts wanting to hug ANY of the current crop of GOP hopefuls.
Ted Cruz?
Lindsey Graham?
Little Rand Paul?
Donald Trump?
Yeah I wouldn't let my daughter anywhere near Donald Trump!
No I think the hug-ability factor would drop significantly if any of these guys were to take up residence in the White House.
What a handsome collection of no good, lying, sorry ass, creepy goddam fucking shitheads.
ReplyDeleteCruz's expression always reminds me of someone who has realized that what he thought was just a fart, wasn't.
ReplyDeleteFilled up with leakage.....
DeleteOMG!!! You are so right!!! He's not a fart head-he's a shard face!!!
DeletePerfect!
DeleteThe reaction of the kids is so cute...I love how one girl just calls him "Obama" (like that's what she hears at home or tv or whatever...) and one of the girls later on keeps coming back to try to hug him once more. They will remember this forever.
ReplyDeleteNone of that lot would let Girl Scouts anywhere near them, or the White House for that matter... I mean, the Girl Scouts let in girls of other color/ethnicity, and some of them might be poors, or carriers of the dreaded 'gay.'
ReplyDeleteI hear they also allow in transgender scouts who identify as female, too. I commend them for their 21st century attitude! So the Girl Scouts are alright with me. No phobias like the Boy Scouts.
DeleteBut asshole Chris Crusty says that Obama is not a people person. He doesn't like people!
ReplyDelete(And Christy likes people enough to let them wait on bridges for hours or die because EM's can't get through.)
DeleteGryphen!
On the bright side, thank you for a lovely reminder of Obama's warmth and humanity!
Sorry O/T but must read this -

Wow, Sunny, I thought I've seen it all, but this takes some serious chutzpah!!!!! They want money for the wedding AND a "dream honeymoon"???
DeleteDakota's grandparents quoted at Daily Mail story.
ReplyDeleteWe don't ever discuss Bristol Palin in this family' - Marine's split with ex-fiancé goes public as his grandparents hint war hero IS the father of her unborn child.
They did NOT say Dakota is baby daddy. They will love Bristol when she is squeezing Dakota for child support and calling him a deadbeat.
I just read the article. Very interesting development.
ReplyDeleteCruz seems a 50s holdout for Brylcreem. Whereas I can never look at Trump without being reminded of Jon Stewart's priceless characterization of him as an "antique doll hair thief."
ReplyDeleteWith few exceptions, conservatives are not interesting people.
They have to work hard at appearing normal, relaxed, approachable, and humorous. Too many come across as that sanctimonious preacher whose demeanor reflects arrogance,
smarminess, and something you never feel fully comfortable with.
And I think of Bill Maher's comparing Trump to an orange orangutan.

They all look like slimey pedophiles.
ReplyDeleteIn republican world our President is known to be hated and disliked by everyone, it is very noticeable.
ReplyDeleteFortunately reality has film and fact which shows our President is liked if not loved by most everyone who isn't republican or conservative.
The GOP is in for a humiliating ass kicking in 16. Not one redeeming quality in any of their sour, hateful, bitter and vicious candidates.
ReplyDeleteTonight, Thursday, July 2nd, I have a better opinion about Lindsey Graham. Rachel Maddow showed a clip of Lindsey talking about Joe Biden and it was the nicest most heartwarming interview I have seen about him. He had nothing but good things to say about VP Joe. If he could only change his political viewpoints but then he would be a Democrat.
DeleteWhen Barack Obama was let loose briefly in Australia's capital city, schoolgirls couldn't stop hugging him.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the POTUS part, he's an amazing role model for good fathers and good parenting.
ReplyDeleteI almost lost my cookies when I first saw this, but the Girl Scouts of America stood their ground!!!!!

Isn't that great! They stood up for what is right.
DeleteAs a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts, I'm so happy for the group that got to camp at the White House. My troops would have loved to participate in that. The President is awesome. I'm glad he's our leader and really wish that the Repubs hadn't sabotaged 90% of his agenda. History will revile them.
ReplyDeleteI just love this!!!
