Chris Christie suggests that the teacher's union deserves a punch in the face.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

In an interview that aired on Sunday, CNN’s Jake Tapper reminded the New Jersey governor that he had advised people to punch bullies “in the face” during his first term as governor.

“At the national level, who deserves a punch in the face?” Tapper wondered.

“Oh, the national teachers union,” Christie replied without hesitation. “They’re not for education for our children, they’re for greater membership, greater benefits, greater pay for their members.”

“And they are the single most destructive force in public education in America,” he added. “I’ve been saying that since 2009. I’ve got the scars to show it, but I’m never going to stop saying it because they never change their stripes.”

Christie attempts to explain his pugnacious attitude toward the NEA by saying that they are all about getting better pay, and better benefits for their teachers. (Which by the way help them to better educate our children asshole.) But he also goes out of his way to mention that they have already thrown their support behind Hillary Clinton as if he is somehow insulted that they would not wait for the GOP to choose THEIR candidate before deciding not to endorse somebody from a party that has done nothing but attack teachers and undermine education for the last fifty years or more.

You know what this makes me so fucking mad that I would like to volunteer to stand in for the NEA and receive that punch from Christie. My only stipulation is that once he has smacked me with his blubbery fist that I get a shot as well.

Trust me, it would be well worth it.

At this point the only contest that I can really see among the GOP contenders for the nomination, is which one I despise the most. It seems to change almost daily.

Today it is a toss up between Chris Christie and Donald Trump.

But hey, the day's still young.

  1. You only have to look at the mess Christie has made of New Jersey to realize what a disastrous president he would be. He's done incredible damage to schools in New Jersey.

His wife is as crooked as he is. Mary Pat started some bogus Drumthwacket Foundation, (that's the name of the New Jersey Governor's residence), supposedly to raise money to restore the mansion. Of course she paid herself a salary, and made her best friend the head of it for a six figure salary. Then there was her Sandy charity, years after the hurricane hit she still hadn't decided yet who to give the money to...yeah, right.

When those two leave office in New Jersey someone needs to count the spoons at the Governor's mansion. And check Mary Pat's pockets.

      Very good summation.

  2. When Christie attacked a petite elementary school teacher, screaming in her face, poking his finger at her, and all because the cameras were rolling, his wife Mary Pat stood grinning next to him.

She was so happy that her husband was bullying a small, pretty woman. It was like he was personally getting her revenge on the attractive popular girls.

  3. Christie travels around the rest of the country bragging about the magnificent job he's done as governor of New Jersey while the people of New Jersey pay for his star turns and the state he left behind crumbles.
Why don't you tell the people in the other 49 states what homeowner taxes are like in New Jersey, then tell them about all of the investigations ongoing into your administration, show them the videos of you screaming at constituents, verbally abusing women, and chasing people down the boardwalk brandishing your ice cream cone, tough guy.
When they stop laughing at you ask them if they'll vote for you for president. No one who knows Christie would vote for him for the highest office in the land. To know Christie is to loathe him.

I don't know him or live anywhere near NJ, but I loath him.

  4. When Chris Christie "danced" on the Jimmy Fallon show he said his motto is 'go big or go home'.

Go big or go home. Don't bother getting your state's credit downgraded once, or even twice. Go big! Get it downgraded six times with a seventh on deck.
Don't bother getting one or two measly investigations into your ham-handed attempts to play political hardball, get SIX investigations into your crooked administration. Go big!
Don't bother giving your partners in crime small raises in salary that might slip by the voters, reward them handsomely for their loyalty and ability to forget on demand. Go big!
Don't bother getting convicted for one or two misdemeanors, get indicted and convicted on the felonies you've committed. Go big!

Saw today an article about teachers paying for classroom needs out of pocket. The reality is teachers have been doing this for at least 20 years. Only now are people noticing? It makes me sad to see how our teachers are vilified. As a parent and volunteer in my children’s classrooms it amazed me to see the creativity and expertise teachers rise to everyday. In fact, it wore me out to help out! Teachers are heroes in my book.

I thought I wanted to teach until I subbed for a year. Teachers deserve so much more than they are paid.

I've worked in elementary schools in a city district for almost 20 years. Most people have no idea how much money it takes to set up and maintain a classroom. Working with low income students adds another whole level of expense because many of the students cannot provide much of what they need for the year. I'm not even a teacher (work as support staff) and I've bought the student I worked with underwear, socks, shirts, hats and gloves as well as several toothbrushes and a year's supply of toothpaste.

For the past several years. the classroom teachers in my school were given a yearly budget of $150 ($100 for special subject teachers). Prior to last year, that money had to cover all of the copy paper the teacher needed for the entire year (which used up most of the allocation). Any additional supplies and teaching materials came out of the teachers' pockets.

Go into any elementary classroom and you will likely see a comprehensive classroom library of age-appropriate books. Teachers who are moved from grade to grade will probably have boxes at home of books that cover various grade and reading levels. Classroom decorations, bulletin board supplies and classroom furniture (rocking chairs, bookcases, storage units) are usually supplied by the teacher.

As a new teacher, a good friend of mine spent almost $2,500 on equipment and supplies her first year.

You go, Barbara Delaney! Would you consider running for political office in your state? You sure know your Christie facts but I guess anybody who has been paying attention since "The Mangina" (check out Christie in the tight white baseball uniform, no balls, just a mangina) took office has plenty of facts to use against the big bully. Enjoyed reading your comments!

Whenever I see his face, I picture him in that baseball uniform. He looks like Tweedle Dum!! How did Mary Pat get pregnant, his tiny little manhood can not be detected. Is she a contortionist? Whoever convinced him that he looked good in that deserves our THANK YOU. How could they keep a straight face, seeing that clown?

    2. Thanks, I'm in Ohio where we have our own disgraceful republican governor. He's not as colorful as Christie but he's been bad for Ohio and, like Christie, has no business on the national stage.

It's going to be a battle for that tenth spot on the debate stage, isn't it? Last I read said it's between Christie, Kasich and Perry. Larry, Curly, and Moe....

Gryph, since Christie won't be getting the nomination and Scott Walker will, (Koch brothers have promised $889 million dollars to get him elected president) would you mind punching him in his good eye so it goes crossed to match the other one? Thanks in advance for doing your part in the coming election.

“At the national level, who deserves a punch in the face?” Tapper wondered.

What the fuck kind of question is that for a reporter to ask a candidate? Who of ANY American constituency deserves a punch in the face? Christie's a bully, but Tapper tee'd him up.

    Despicable on both their parts.

  16. Christie epitomizes the republican contempt for and fear of education and those who provide it.

Republicans need an uneducated constituency to survive.

Christie is a big blowhard and can go to hell.

My mother was a teacher and teacher's consultant for 38 years for learning disabled. Every time their contract came up they started from zero to negotiate salary and benefits.

When going through her papers I found a letter from admin requiring her justification for taking a sick day that she was entitled to, like a bad child.

Then Gov. Engler (R-MI) another jerk, stole the money from their pensions to balance the budget. When my mother passed away I wanted to find out what if anything was left in her pension, since I would inherit it. I could not get an accounting from the state and after speaking to other retire teachers they said no one knows how much is in their pensions since the state never gave yearly statement.

It is also true that teachers have been supplying children with the basics like pencils and paper for years out of their own pocket.

So Mr. Christie, when you start treating teachers with the respect they deserve and pay salaries fitting a profession, then you can open your big mouth, until then worry about how to close the another bridge for revenge.

Gov Chrispie Creme and MaryPAAAT don't send little pugsley to public schools, and was royally pissed when caught using a police heelycopter to watch a t ball game Pugsley was playing.

My sister was a teacher in New Jersey, she already got the punch in the face, but thanks for offering, Gryphen.

She lived in northern jersey, close to NYC, and the housing market and taxes were through the roof. The school she taught at for years went from being in the top ten in the state to slightly above Newark's public schools. I'm not dissing Newark, just an example of his loathing of the teachers and the teacher's union.

Looks like he needs a refund on the stomach reduction surgery, the tie covers a multitude of sins, and one vienna sausage "innie". Pardon my crassness, this creep has some chutzpah and a foul attitude.

  20. I am a retired teacher who has always been a member of NEA.
It's not a perfect union. I've disagreed with some decisions, not liked some leaders and members, but it has for the most part been an advocate of teachers and students. I've worked in districts where not having union representation left one at the mercy of administrators who were petty, vindictive, and self-serving.

There is no argument that can be made by defenders of teachers and education that will change the opinions of the haters. Never, ever, has any union member in the various schools I've worked in ever asked me to do something unethical or suggested doing something that would adversely students. But that doesn't matter to the haters. They couldn't care less how tough the job can be and how time consuming. Their narrative is a religion.

I worked hard and was committed to what I did. I make no apologies for what I earned and the subsequent retirement I am receiving. Because not one fucking individual in any other profession has ever apologized to me for their pay and benefits.

Typically I don't assault the appearance of individuals, but in Christie's case, I'll make an exception. He is a fat, undisciplined, hateful fuck. He throws his weight around spouting his truth. "You're going hear what I have to say whether you like it or not." To that I say, "Fuck you, fat man. I'm not listening to you, nor will I. You deserve every bit of rudeness and disrespect that people can throw at you."
