Donald Trump refuses to apologize for "blood" comments directed at Fox host Megyn Kelly, instead attacks GOP opponents for misrepresenting them.

Courtesy of CNN:

Presidential candidate Donald Trump defended himself Sunday from the fierce backlash he's received for criticizing Fox News debate moderator Megyn Kelly, insisting he said nothing wrong and that he values women.

"I cherish women," the real estate mogul told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union," adding that he did not mean to imply that Kelly asked him sharp questions during the debate because she was menstruating.

"Who would say that?" Trump said Sunday. "Do you think I'd make a statement like that? Who would make a statement like that? Only a sick person would even think about that." (And only an even sicker person would actually say it.)

.....

Trump handled the moment in characteristic fashion -- refusing to give an inch to his detractors and telling Tapper he did "nothing wrong whatsoever." He blamed his Republican presidential opponents for fanning the flames of controversy, and claimed he meant to refer to her "nose and/or ears" -- not a woman's period.

Trump attacked several of the Republicans who have criticized his remarks about Kelly.

He pointed to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's gaffe over women's health funding last week, saying he "came out horribly" and that the comment about overfunding -- which Bush said was meant to reference Planned Parenthood -- "will go down to haunt him and be the same as Romney's '47%.'"

Trump dismissed South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and former Hewlett-Packard chief executive officer Carly Fiorina.

Trump also went on to dismiss criticism from Erick Erickson, and pointed out that he himself has said worse things in the past. (That's actually true.)

Trump also suggested that he was much more popular that Fox News darling Megyn Kelly, "On social media I'm the one that's beloved.)

Later on Meet the Press Trump said this:

“When I was attacked viciously by those women, of course, it’s very hard for them to attack me on looks, because I’m so good-looking,” he said.

Holy shit! That is some industrial strength denial this guy is working with there.

Trump's arrogance has now turned him into a parody of himself, where there is literally nobody that can say anything as harmful about him that he has not already said himself.

Kind of reminds you of somebody, doesn't it?

Wow. He just continues to show that he just doesn't get how lagging behind he is when it comes to where society stands on the status of a woman and where a leader should stand. His use of the soft, loving word "cherish" and saying that he cherishes women, as if women are supposed to be mollified and stop being bothered, is an example--he doesn't see why what he thinks and says is problematic. And in one of his books he insisted that every woman on his Apprentice show flirted with him whether they did it consciously or not--he is so all-knowing, you know--it is impossible that the “bleeding from…wherever" comment can possibly have been even a subconscious reference to a woman being on the rag, as I imagine Trump phrases things when in private.

Damn, Teresa. I'm in my 70's and can remember the men 'back in the day' referring to women 'being on the rag'! It is nothing new and was very common place at one time. No one ever came out against the men in those days.

This is all laughable as far as I'm concerned! Nothing new and different is going on here - Trump isn't saying 'new' things by any stretch of the imagination.

Everyone is just horribly conconcered about being 'politically correct'! What bullshit! Republicans have never been 'politically correct'! Check their history and factual information.

Trump is still leading the Republican party in spite of the news coverage against him...and, this is since the debate! What does that tell you about how Americans are feeling as a whole?

Most Republican men are a nasty breed! Just look at McConnell, McCain, Boehner and many others of them currently holding positions in our 'do nothing' U.S. Congress. Plus, they are the most disliked Congress in history!

They are fucking assholes and nothing more than a joke! They should be ashamed of themselves!

That opinion is for others to make, not Donald Trump about himself. Really good-looking people are humble about it, because they know the praise will pour in, no matter what they say or do.

Donald Trump looks like a day-old crumpet, covered with orange icing. His mouth looks like an underwater creature.
His eyes are the slits of a preying monster. His hair is hilarious, which he's been trying to hide in the last few days with a baseball cap, but it's the outstanding sign of a man too vain to admit his hair loss and forget the dye job and the comb over.

Who would date this guy if they knew nothing about his "billions?" No one.

He's done it with wives and I have no doubt he's done it with any female employees he deigns to allow within the sphere of his Amazingness.

This is not the first time that Donald Trump has continued to make stupid remarks in the face of objective facts. I'm writing about his Birther Crap. Even after President Obama showed the long form of his birth certificate, Trump kept repeating the inuendo "well, if you want to believe him," stuff. Finally, President Obama made Trump the butt of his jokes at one of the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Trump respects women? He objectifies women in his beauty pageants. He said that his daughter had a beautiful figure and he would date her if she wasn't his daughter. He has traded in each wife for a younger model. There is nothing about Donald Trump that says that he supports women, that they will be "his thing" when he is elected president.

Who makes the dumber remarks, Sarah or Donald? Sarah's fame was short-lived. She went from zero to sixty when McCain nominated her and she ran for VP (and lost). She thought that she was cashing in when she quit her job as governor to appear on Fox and take the book and reality show deal. Now, she's nothing more than a joke.

Trump has much more money and he has been a public joke for a much longer period of time. There was his out-there marriage to Ivana, where they truly were a garish, boorish couple. Their breakup was equally flamboyant, with Trump stashing both his wife and his mistress, the future Mrs. Trump #2 in the same hotel in Aspen. His divorce was more fodder for the tabloids. He has been making obnoxious headlines for his land deals to set up golf courses and just about everything else. The only world where he had not tried making a splash was the political world. The good news is that it was his own former campaign manager who said that the stuff that Trump said as a real estate mogul or tv show host should not be said by a politician. The stuff that got Trump into the headlines is not the stuff that should be good for a politician. I hope that his early ratings don't last and that people have better sense than to keep supporting Trump as a serious candidate. They saw through Sarah Palin, and I hope that they will see through Trump, too.

You could be getting all this attention. All you have to do is through your name in and start saying all those outlandish things you are so famous for.

It doesn't have to cost you anything, just use your line about how you are running a "rouge" campaign and post stuff to Facebook and Twitter.

You'll get into the first few debates and then you can scream discrimination and play the victim if you get booted from any of the debates.

That will give you lots of self-righteous creds that should bring you tons of money in the future.

5:02 Actually they were. I couldn't find it but will link some Wiki stuff here.

One also must be careful not to take the Lennon More Popular Than Christ quote out of context. Wiki is interesting.

But, I digress. As I was saying, at the height of their popularity and having had been around and famous for a while at the time of Lennon's quote, it is not farfetched to think that more people around the world were familiar with the Beatles than with Christ.

Remember, music transcends language, culture and religion. And also add in the fact that the Christian religion is not universally believed and you see it could be possible.

Add in today's technology and I wouldn't be surprised if a few other mega-rock-stars couldn't also say: "At this given moment in time, more people know of us than know of Jesus Christ."

Right now we have 2.2 billion Christians on the planet. Out of 7.1 billion people. Since Christianity tends to be a Western religion and much of Christianity is centered in the Western world, is it safe to say most Christians have heard about the Beatles?

The next question would be what percentage of the non-Christian world population know the Beatles vs. those who don't. Extrapolate out how many might know of Christ vs those who never heard of the guy, etc.

When you think about the numbers you see that it is possibly true that even today, more people know about the Beatles than do J.C.

Here's what the Vatican newspaper said several years ago on the subject, via wiki.

"In a 2008 article marking the 40th anniversary of the Beatles' double album The Beatles (also known as the "White Album"), the Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, issued the statement:

"The remark by John Lennon, which triggered deep indignation, mainly in the United States, after many years sounds only like a 'boast' by a young working-class Englishman faced with unexpected success, after growing up in the legend of Elvis and rock and roll. The fact remains that 38 years after breaking up, the songs of the Lennon-McCartney brand have shown an extraordinary resistance to the passage of time, becoming a source of inspiration for more than one generation of pop musicians."[31]

He may even have passable legs, but the thought of having to see where they grow from, the hunched giant white whale part of him, naked in bed at night...ick.

And his comment makes no sense in terms of what he’s applying it to. He says women can’t criticize his looks and so have to say something else critical. No. They could criticize his looks but that’s not what they’re interested in. They’re criticizing aspects of him that are about what actually matters to them. He so does not attribute brains to women. This statement of his is just more proof of it and proof that he is such a relic of another era.

I think the Trump knows how to play to his audience. Like the person earlier said it's like the wresting on TV. Just hype and playing along with a script.

The bigger the boasting and the more audacious the comments, the more attention he gets. I doubt he will even remember or care what he said this time 3 years from now.

Sarah Palin fine tuned that technique. The problem I see with Trump (in terms of politics, not his hate, etc.) is that, like Sarah, there are people who totally agree with him to whom he is giving voice and making it all seem OK for us to go back to the way it was in the 50s.

Also, too, what else is scary is that there are those who will say that Trump has wonderful business experience and if he can run a multi-million dollar business, he can easily run the U.S. government.

    Huffington Post :
Palin's Shameful Silence on Trump's Misogyny

Alaska's quitter governor and the Tea Party's queen diva Sarah Palin uses her Facebook page to comment on all things political, including touting Donald Trump's candidacy for the presidency. But when it comes to Trump's outrageously sexist comments about her former colleague at Fox News, Megyn Kelly, Palin has remained shamefully silent about El Donaldo's latest round of misogyny.

So much for Mama Grizzly solidarity with conservative women like Kelly, with whom Palin once declared: "We are the women's movement!"

When Trump recently assaulted John McCain -- who plucked Palin from obscurity in August of 2008 to join him on the Republican ticket -- it was an entirely different matter. Palin immediately came to Trump's defense, calling him a hero and blaming the scuffle on the media. It was an act of betrayal directed at McCain -- and yet another instance of her blatant duplicity -- that only Palin could pull off.

Trump, of course, has been nothing more than a serial sexist when it comes to his constant attacks on women: He has called women "ugly," "fat," "dogs," "slobs," "bimbos," "extremely unattractive," ad infinitum, all leading up to his allegation this weekend that Kelly was menstruating during the Republican presidential primary debate Thursday tonight.

I guess in Palin World, that all makes you a "hero." So be it...

No one holds a grudge like Palin.... (aint that the truth)

    Washington Post :
    Sick of Trump-mania?

.... It’s nothing compared to 2008’s Palin-sanity. Palin's on that chart, too -- hers is the red line, as it is on the graphs below. We tracked the number of news mentions by week for Palin for the first eight weeks she was on the scene, and they make Trump's towers look like distinctly un-classy....

Sarah take a good look at the charts. It shows how relevant you really are.

In order to keep her name in the news, Sarah Palin has to create controversy and ride on the coattails of people like Trump, the Duggar family, President Obama and anybody else who is being reported in the news. What's really sad is Sarah Palin rode the coattails of America's Medal of Honor Recipient and now discarded him and also rides on the coattails of her daughter Bristol Palin and her blog written by Sarah Palin’s ghostwriter.

Why can't Sarah Palin be satisfied with the money she grifted from our nation and hideout in her Wasilla compound looking angrily from her tower at the people of Wasilla who once liked her and now hates her?

He's very Adamic. "It was the woman that YOU gave me SHE caused me to...". So similar reasoning as in "the garden". Leading anyone forward?
