Facebook page supporting police posts fake memorial mocking the death of Michael Brown.

Courtesy of The Free Thought Project:

One of the largest police pages on Facebook posted an extremely divisive picture, which is sure to inflame already fragile police-community/race relations in Ferguson, Mo. and beyond.

Surprisingly, the fake picture has received a large amount of blowback from law enforcement officers, despite the thousands of repugnant cops who liked and shared it.

The irresponsibility of a page that claims to represent and support cops, in posting something so shallow and disrespectful, regarding someone killed by an officer, shows a supreme ignorance and continual lack of understanding, regarding community relations and dealing with the public.

You can visit the Facebook page for yourself here, And if you look through it you will quickly learn that it features many insensitive and even racist posts.

By the way it appears that cops are now killing unarmed white teenagers now as well.

I guess that must be more of that American exceptionalism that I keep hearing so much about.

And Darren Wilson is whining because no one will hire him.

Darren Wilson had previously been fired from a police department for his racist actions BEFORE he killed a young man with his ignorant views. But somehow that was kept out of the media, why was that?

And another unarmed black teen was killed by police in Texas. He had crashed into a car dealership in Austin. Police responded and they say a struggle ensued when he was shot and killed by a 49 year old rookie officer who had been on the streets since March. So my questions are: How many officers responded? Did he have a training officer with him or how long do they have a training officer? This officer supposedly had no prior experience so what did he do before he became an officer? Are they going to say he was going for someone's gun? They are saying there is no videotape including from the dealership. Really? I am in San Antonio and these dealerships have more cameras than a state prison.

Field Negro, on Gryph's blog links to the left, has an excellent post on this story. He's often my next stop after reading the news in the morning.
Your point about the video cameras is a valid one, the car dealers here all have dozens w/signs posting you're being watched/taped.
Most people love car shopping when the sales people aren't there, so it's not unusual behavior at all.

California Cop Suspended After Pulling Gun On Man Recording Him

A California police officer was suspended after video surfaced showing him unholster his gun while arguing with a man recording him in a small city north of San Francisco.

...The video, taken last month, shows the unidentified Rohnert Park officer briefly point his gun at Don McComas, who was in front of his home. According to McComas, the confrontation began when the cop slowly drove by and watched McComas hitch a boat to his Ford Excursion. McComas started recording with his camera as the officer drove toward him and parked in the middle of the street.

About two minutes into the recording, the officer emerges from the car and orders McComas to take his hand out of his pocket.

“No, sir, I’ve done nothing. I’ve done absolutely nothing," McComas says, at which point the officer draws his gun.

Should we be surprised that cops do not have respect in our country? The bad ones are so damned bad it makes me sick to my stomach.

It's particularly sad in light of the fact that the Brown family hasn't had an opportunity to put up a headstone themselves.

FWIW, and on topic, this is a very good listen and food for thought. It's not easy to listen to, but very thought provoking and well informed.

Ah yes, those trigger happy assholes who have found refuges as "peace officers." Many seem to be sociopaths with very few people skills. Here is a very recent example. May the wrongful death civil case clean this officer's coffers. Let's see if his buddies feel like being rhymnin' simons then. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2015/06/22/mistake-over-high-beams-ends-with-michigan-cop-killing-teen/

And gee, not one snippet on Thursday night about the killing of American kids, by cops and by their father's unloaded guns. Instead, we get Trump defending his ugly remarks about women, and Rubio trumpeting how he paid off his $100,000 remaining college loans at the age of 43 (from a book endorsement advance.) Yes sir, the GOP cares about the people all right.

The UK Guardian has been keeping track of how many the U.S. police have killed. As of yesterday, I think, the number was 683. This year so far.

And yet nothing, Gryphen, about policemen recently shot and killed senselessly by thugs while performing their duty.

    Real nice.

You are aware that the DOJ report was in agreement with the officer Wilson's version of events, and found all the supposed 'witnesses' from Canfield apartments to be lying thru thier teeth and non-credible, yes? There was no hands up don't shoot. Michael Brown did rob a store 5 minutes before and did intimidate, threaten and man-handle an elderly clerk. Michael Brown did attack Officer Wilson in his car, and he did double back and charge Wilson until he was shot dead. Credible witnesses, per the DOJ investigation, mixed race and black, including an elderly black man who said he would refuse to take the stand out of fear of reprisal from the community, corroborated Officer Wilson's truthfull statements.

    Ridiculous.

One of my BIL's work in law enforcement. He works in internal affairs and I'm not at liberty to say what his job title is. I've seen autopsy photos, crime lab reports, and racist e-mails and rants cops being investigated have sent/ received for myself, and a lot of good cops are being painted with a broad brush because of the many stories about bad cops and what they've done, tried to cover up, and got away with, which isn't an excuse by any means for the slaughter of innocent lives because they look/act differently, or in some cases look/act just like everyone else, then a false narrative is made with no witnesses.
Sorry for the length of this comment, but I'm sick of reading story after story of bad cops killing people of color, across this nation, day in and day out.
Pages as vulgar as this one just drives the need for more cultural sensitivity and proper use of force classes along with body cams, and any technology available to help stem the bloodshed.
The Brown family has suffered enough, for these uniformed gung ho, gun happy, armed racist murderers to display their true selves in this manner should be a crime on it's own.

What manly men, sworn to protect and serve, pick on a victim who no longer has a voice, life, liberty, happiness, not even the ability to pursue their birthright as American Citizens. They're people with loved ones and deserve at least a shred of dignity. Who does one call for help, when the "help" IS the problem????

My heart breaks for the unarmed innocents murdered at the hands of racists officers of the law. When killers of any ilk get away with murder and who are lauded as 'heroes' are not accountable, when will this this blood-lust end? What will staunch the deadly carnage?

Does it only end when more unarmed white children are murdered-by-out-of-control violently angry officers of the law?
