Investigations launched in response to heavily edited videos have shown no wrongdoing on the part of Planned Parenthood. Update!

Courtesy of Mother Jones:

Completed probes in Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, and South Dakota have spent thousands in taxpayer money but turned up no evidence that Planned Parenthood is trafficking in the sale of fetal tissue. And in most of the other states that have launched investigations—including Ohio, Arizona, Texas, and Kansas—Planned Parenthood affiliates don't even have fetal tissue donation programs, making it hard to believe the states will find any illegal activity related to the practice. In Louisiana, where Gov. Bobby Jindal ordered an investigation in mid-July, Planned Parenthood does not even operate a single abortion clinic.

"In every state where these investigations have concluded, officials have cleared Planned Parenthood of any wrongdoing," Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood Federation, told the Huffington Post. "We've said all along that Planned Parenthood follows all laws and has very high medical standards, and that's what every one of these investigations has found."

Not every governor has taken the bait. Democratic governors in Minnesota and Virginia have rejected state legislators' pleas to look into the group, saying they won't waste time investigating programs that don't exist in their states.

"As far as I'm concerned, there's no basis for an investigation at taxpayer expense into a private nonprofit organization that has stated they don't engage in those practices," Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton told local reporters after he received a letter from GOP lawmakers asking him to take action.

Of course other states have simply decided to skip the investigation stage and simply defund Planned Parenthood. However by doing that they may be breaking the law, which of course will result in even more taxpayer money being used to defend their decision in court.

In their attempts to smear Planned Parenthood the creators of these videos have even resorted to using miscarried babies to fool the viewers:

The latest video intended to cast Planned Parenthood in an unflattering light relies on images of fetuses that were not actually aborted at Planned Parenthood clinics.

One of the photos (displayed at the video’s nine-minute mark) isn’t an aborted fetus at all. It’s actually a stillborn fetus prematurely delivered at 19 weeks.

The woman who took that photo, Alexis (or “Lexi”) Fretz, initially published it on her blog — where she also shared the story of grieving her stillborn son, whom she named Walter Joshua. In a Facebook post, Fretz said that she did not give permission for the Center for Medical Progress to use Walter’s photo, though she does not plan to take legal action against the group.

Okay this is all way past the ick stage.

At this point I dearly hope that after Congress finishes wasting our money on yet another failed investigation into Planned Parenthood, that PP turns around and sues the shit out of those Center for Medical Progress douchebags.

Update: Hey! They might be planning to sue!

Well good for them!

She should take legal action. It's a violation of her privacy and just plain disgusting.

Who needs concrete evidence of wrong-doing when you can just manipulate the emotions of those who claim to be pro-life with manufactured BS? Right-wing politicians have been doing this for years. It's a tried and true right-wing tactic used to raise campaign funds, win elections, and distract from the fact that they have no idea how to govern.

There's a huge difference between an abortion and a stillbirth. How despicable of these Breitbart loonies to do something like this. They should be prosecuted and I think that Planned Parenthood and the mother whose stillborn infant's photo was so abused should sue also. "Center for Medical Progress," my foot!

I'm so proud of Gov Dayton standing up to the pro-birthers and not wasting any taxpayer money.

I hope the mother sues AND Planned Parenthood sues these Breitbart wannabe zombie thugs. Not only is it obviously edited and biased, it's an invasion of a woman's loss and abuse of a corpse's image for political gain.
Be pro life all you want, pass out fetus keychains, stomp up and down with signs all you want, but invade someone else's privacy while making a false narrative isn't exactly helping your cause.

The rethugs will probable spend more in taxpayers dollars to investigate than is used to fund PP in the first place.

Then after they finish investigating and find nothing, they can investigate the investigation. Then keep investigating until the elections are over.

O/T Trump Tells His White Mobile, AL Audience He Was Right. Illegal Immigrants Are Rapists.

Donald Trump began his rally in Mobile, Alabama by claiming that he was correct about illegal immigrants being rapists.

Trump began his rally by insinuating that he was correct about illegal immigrants being rapists and used a scare tactic on his lily white audience. Trump said, “Between what happened in San Francisco….The other day in California, last week, a woman, 66 years old a veteran was raped, sodomized tortured and killed by an illegal immigrant. We have to do it. We have to do something.”

This rally is just beginning, but the tone of the event reeks of racism and bigotry. There is something very ugly about a candidate who appeals to the very worst elements in our society drawing a record crowd to a region with such a troubled racial past. ............

Massachusetts??? What the fuck is going on up here??? I've had fleeting thoughts of transferring to North Carolina to get away from this fucking snow, but I could never live in such a racist, woman-hating state. Now we have good ol' boys pissing and beating on sleeping latinos cuz Trump and beating on Moroccans cuz 9/11, AND spending tax-payer money investigating what could have been an Onion story??? We might as well be called North North Carolina. I guess that's what happens when a Republican governor gets elected.
