Joe Biden meets with Elizabeth Warren. Could this mean something for the 2016 presidential race?

Courtesy of The Hill:

Vice President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Washington, D.C.’s Naval Observatory on Saturday for a confidential talk with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), CNN reported.

Biden’s return to the District comes amid buzz he is seriously weighing a 2016 Oval Office bid.

CNN said that two sources confirmed the pair’s face-to-face, the biggest indicator yet that Biden is seriously tempted by an Oval Office bid next year.

“The vice president traveled last minute to Washington, D.C. for a private meeting and will be returning to Delaware,” an aide told CNN. Biden spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff declined further comment on the alleged rendezvous.

Okay first off let me just say that if Biden was to jump into the race and announce that he and Warren were going to share the ticket that this whole thing is over.

Hillary might as well call it quits and the Republicans can go right ahead and pool their campaign money now to hire a hitman to take Trump out for fucking up their chances of getting their messages out.

I know that may sound harsh, but face it Joe is much more likable as a candidate than Hillary, and Elizabeth has the liberal cred.

Having said that I think that if this occurs that Bill Clinton better pack his shit and leave the country, because if Hillary loses yet another nomination, like she did in 2008, she is going to be fit to be tied.

That's not exist, I think most men would react in a similar fashion.

Why are all the news sites saying this must be about a Biden run? Does misogyny run so deep in our country? When I first heard about this "meeting" I assumed it was about Warren's run.
That sad, I'm with you if these two are announcing a ticket together.

    1. Well Warren has already said pretty definitively that she is NOT running, while sources are saying that Biden is thinking about it more and more.

THAT is why we think this might be about a Biden run and not an Elizabeth Warren candidacy.

Let's just make it a done deal: Biden/Warren.

Hillary is not going to call it quits!!! What, you think she's a quitter?? She's not. I love Joe, I respect Joe, I hope he runs. But Hillary will not call it quits.

    1. No I did not say that Hillary WOULD call it quits, I said she might as well if Biden can get Warren to join his ticket.

And I stand by that statement.

  3. I adore VP Biden's intelligence AND passion. Ditto Senator Warren. So, we realize again that unlike what Sarah Palin says about the Republicans, the Democrats really DO have a "deep bench."

And Gryphen, I think that anyone--male, female, politician, non-politician, who is heavily ego invested in his/her work AND gets close to but does not achieve a big goal (a career high) not just once but twice, will take a long time to get over the disappointment. (Speaking as a lowly artist whose been in that position.)

If Biden were to be the nominee, u know Fox News will go crazy running all the videos of all his gaffes. And if I were him, I would beat them to the punch. Did I drop the f bomb when Obama care passes, yes, but I never told a long sitting Senator to go f himself on the floor of the senate. Did I tell a guy in a wheelchair to stand up at a rally? Yes, but I never lied to the American people to get us into a needless war. Did i vote for it? Based on the facts we were given, yes. Was it a mistake on my part, yes. Show me in any important event with serious consequences. And if you really want to know who he is, find the video of him three years ago talking to the families of our fallen soldiers. Can you see anyone on the Republican side speaking with that much candor and emotion? Other than Christie screaming at a school teacher.

LOL Humor form the Peepond. President Palin would be the first POTUS with a Journalism degree and they think that is great! Umm, piss ants, any POTUS should have a great deal more college education than a unused journalism degree in Palin's case

I'll believe Sarah Heath graduated from the University of Idaho with any kind of four year degree after an independent auditor presents absolute proof!

I think her "degree" is a lie, like most everything else Sarah claims about her life.

  8. The Biden/Warren conspiratorial meet up to ramp it up for the New World Order because Jade Helm didn't fill up all those empty WalMarts...... has a lot of Teabaggistani in a lathered frenzy. They did calm down a bit in comments around the web when someone popped up and said that Biden is a mean, cantankerous nasty man too old to duck a bullet. So, there's that.

By the way.....Another country song was written in the One Star State of Texas today. It’s got the three B’s…Bubbas, bullets & bagpipes

Los Vegas is taking bets on the odds there are three more B’s in the mix to be revealed as the days progress: booze, bibles and bigots

  9. Biden might be talking with Warren about her joining Hilary for the run... I don't know what this means. I do know I was really pissed off when Bush Junior Grade won and they were crowing about "only two families in history ever having TWO presidents- the Adams and the Bush families." As if the Bushes were even remotely comparable to a family of standing like the Adams! No, I want a Hilary win. I want the Clintons to be the ONLY family in history where BOTH partners were Presidents.

I first took notice of Joe Biden during the Clarence Thomas Confirmation Hearings, been a big fan ever since. When he debated Paul lying Ryan, I thought I died and went to Heaven. As of now I'm still team #FeelTheBern, but going to wait and see how this plays out, it's looking good so far. Speaking of Bill Clinton, has he critique another sitting President other than Obama, suggested that Obama extend the Bush's tax breaks, said Obama was acting like a wuss when it came to Putin, I was just wondering

I do like Hillary. And if she's the democratic nominee I will vote for her. But I'm not excited about her candidacy. My first election was Bill Clinton in 92. I was excited for him. I volunteered for him. I even briefly met him in the summer of 92. I was similarly excited for Obama in 2008. I cried when he won. I just don't feel the same for Hillary. But I do feel that way for Vice President Biden

I would love to see Biden run. I have so much respect for him. He's a good man. He has done things that matter in the senate (like the violence against women act). I trust him. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He's suffered so much tragedy but he's done it with such grace.

I admire the hell out of him and I would work my butt off to get him elected

    Please run Joe!!

I respect VP Biden and would be happy to see him get in the race ONLY IF Clinton ends her campaign. She will only falter if the Democratic Party either doesn't know how or refuses to counter GOP-manufactured faux scandals/outrage. I think that a failure to fully support Clinton against the attacks from the right will hurt the Democratic Party in the long run just like running away from Pres. Obama/Obamacare cost them the Senate majority.

I'd like Biden less if he looks to Warren as a running mate. She's a great Senator but I don't think she's ready to be VP or president. In general, I'd like to see us look to experience and competence (in national and foreign policy) and away from identity politics, populism, and personality cults.

Sorry to burst your bubble... Biden nor any other candidate or potential candidate owes Hillary Clinton anything, much less staying out of the process which could impede her. This is why there are primaries dummy, this isn't a coronation of queen Hillary even if your little brain thinks it is.

Old Hillary is basically done anyways regardless of what Biden does. As much as you would like to point the finger, she has no-one to blame but herself for the current mess she is in.

Think you mean sexist, and no it's not. I'd vote for Hillary if she is the nominee, of course. But I too think she thinks it's wrapped up. Now I'd love to see any combination of Biden/Warren/Sanders ticket. Hopefully if she is the nom, she'll be smart enough to pick one of these fine people.

I would love to see Biden/Warren. I think she would have a lot of influence on economic and consumer protection policies. And if a seat opens up on the Supreme Court, I think Biden should make history by nominating see someone who would be the second former president to sit on the court and the first to serve in all three branches. Start the heads exploding now.

Biden/Warren, Biden/Gore, Biden/Bernie, Biden/Clinton, any of 'em, all of 'em. I'm so sick of the GOP sideshow (already), So far, all the Democratic candidates have run respectable campaigns, and I hope that doesn't change. It'll be refreshing to see them discuss the topics they're most passionate about, and I'd be proud to cast my vote for any of them.
I was an Obama voter from jump street, and as much as I'd like a Democratic Candidate be the first female President, it's early, and I'd be fine with any of them, especially Joe. Biden. His personal bio and his long career of service most mirrors my family's and most working/middle class voters.
He'll have eight years of solid experience as VP, and proves he knows what it takes from day one.
The qualities I admire most are his humility, his work ethic, and he never forgot where he came from. Not a selfish bone in his body and he's genuinely sincere.

Yeah, Joe's a great guy. Before you get too enamored, remember that he wasn't exactly on the People's Side on bankruptcy. He's indebted to the credit card companies based in his home state of Delaware. He's basically more of the same.
