Ted Cruz insults Jimmy Carter the day after his candid conversation with the press announcing that his cancer has spread to his brain.

Courtesy of HuffPo:

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz slammed Jimmy Carter's presidency just one day after Carter announced his cancer has spread to his brain.

Speaking at the Iowa State Fair, Cruz recited a regular part of his stump speech in which the Texas senator says that "today is very, very much like the late 1970s."

"I think the parallels between this administration and the Carter administration are uncanny: same failed domestic policies, same misery, stagnation and malaise, same feckless and naïve foreign policy," Cruz said. "In fact, the exact same countries -- Russia and Iran -- openly laughing and mocking at the president of the United States."

On Thursday, Carter announced he is beginning radiation treatment for melanoma that spread to four spots on his brain.

Later Cruz tried to explain that he was only criticizing the Carter administration's public policy and not the man himself.

Which might have satisfied some of his critics if he had not said this right after Joe Biden's son died of cancer:

"Vice President Joe Biden. You know the nice thing? You don't need a punch line."

Yeah fuck you Ted Cruz you vile POS!

Jimmy Carter was the first presidential candidate I ever voted for.

He lost to Ronald Reagan but I have still never regretted that vote. I think Jimmy Carter is a great man, and was also a great President.

And Joe Biden? Well he is Joe Biden, and that is pretty impressive all on its own.

On the other hand I think Ted Cruz looks like a sleazy used car salesman who is secretly jacking off to internet porn in between talking to customers.

Anyone that would call out Vice President Biden so soon after his son's death is an asshole. And that's O'Biden to you, $arah, you stupid witch. Talk about pallin' around....

President Carter is a true gentleman, Christian and respected worldwide. No repub. president can hold a candle to his accomplishments. He can travel anywhere, and is welcomed. W, Cheney and the rest of that adminstration can not travel outside the US for fear of charges for war crimes. Cruz is the sleazy son of a fake Christian preacher, who preaches HATE and bigotry. He is not fit to shine Jimmy Carter's shoes. Usekess, ugly, snivelling bastard.

Jimmy Carter was also the first President that I voted for when I became 18 in 1980. He has more class and knowledge in his toenail clippings than Ted Cruz Will ever have. Likewise with Joe Biden.

I hope that once Ted Cruz is handily defeated in the GOP primary, he will slither away under a rock and die. Frankly, I believe Cruz himself is a perfect argument for abortion and I can only wish he had been aborted himself.

The only readson Carter lost to Reagan was because Reagan convinced the Iranians to keep the hostages until AFTER the election, making Jimmy Carter look incompetant. The usual tactics of the gop, cheating underhanded means to win. The ONLY way they win is by dirty tricks. Cruz should take his grifting father and go back to Cuba.

If only this site allowed memes. There's a great breakdown of Reaqan vs. Carter. That the faithful call $arah the next, and her continuing reference to him, is no attribute whatsoever

I heard the other day that thanks to the efforts of Jimmy Carter, the scourge of Guinea Worm has been virtually wiped out in Africa, and that's just one of many humanitarian projects he's been involved with in the last 35 years.

So tell us, Mr. Cruz, just what the fuck have you ever done to make this world a better place?

I read that also. In the past year there were only 11 cases where before there had been many thousands of cases per year. Jimmy Carter is truly a hero for the world.

Carter's integrity has always set him apart from the rest of the politicians. He has my admiration for all he has done.

  8. Trump has set the tone, and all of them, if they want to stay in the game, have to out-ugly the last one and the one before that. Only one debate in, and months and months to go, it's gonna get pretty disgusting.

What a A**hole. Surely he could have thought of about a million ways to criticize the current president.

He intentionally went after Carter knowing full well that he had just made the country aware of his brain cancer.

Jimmy Carter does more to benefit his fellow man before his morning cup of coffee than Ted Cruz will ever hope to accomplish in his life. I have always held President Carter as a personal hero and I always will. What an incredible man. As for Vice President Biden, he is a gentleman cut from a very similar cloth as President Carter. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this lovely man.

Well stated. Can the gop name even ONE of theirs who can come within a mile of either of these men? Just taking care of their own, to HELL with the rest of us. President Carter and his wife have built countless Habitat for Humanity homes. They are living "family values" not just spouting them. Wonderful people, well respected and loved.

  15. I voted for Jimmy Carter twice. He did a good job running the country. I also am especially grateful to him for showing the way for past presidents to conduct themselves and contribute.

BTW, we all prayed for the hostages to be released in those days.

I also proudly voted for Jimmy Carter twice. And no one ever mentions that the deal to release the hostages in Iran was done by the Carter Administration. It was Papa Bush and his buddies who got the delay in announcing the end until Reagan was inaugurated. Jimmy Carter is worth ten thousand Ronald Reagans any day.

    2. Eh, I only voted for him once. That was in 1980. Didn't trust him in '76 and cast my first-ever presidential vote then for George Papoon, National Surrealist Party ("I'm Not Insane!"). Realized by mid-'79 Carter was ably getting us out of the ditch the nation was in and came to admire him greatly. Couldn't believe so many listened to the reckless calumny spouted by Reagan, even though many did not vote for him--remember Congressman John Anderson (R-Il)? RWR in 1980 only took 50.8% of the popular vote, s'truth. The seachange came on March 30 in 1981.

These are the same people who will have a coronary and call you every name in the book if you dare say anything negative about Saint Reagan.

Jimmy Carter spent his post presidential years trying to make the world a better place. Whether it be building houses for the homeless or winning a Nobel Prize.

The elder Bush only makes news when he jumps out of planes and the only thing the younger Bush does with his free time is paint!

And I don't understand the venom sprayed at Vice President Biden. He is a good man. He's done a lot of good things in the senate and he's the most genuine politician I've ever seen. If Biden ran for president, I would proudly support him.

Ted Cruz is a slimy despicable little man. He is definitely cut from the same vile cloth as $arah Palin. I look forward to him failing miserably in the primaries and dropping out...At which point not even $arah will acknowledge that she knows him.

While you're at it Teddy, wash your hair. It looks like a freaking oil spill.

  20. We have John McCain to thank for ALL of these despicable politicians. He brought $arah on board and she encouraged the racists to stand up and speak out. These people have no sense of irony either. The birthers support a guy born in Canada who may have been born out of wedlock, since both parents were married to other people and their divorce dates aren't exactly clear. Another faux Christian POS.

Consider the source. Both men, Former President Jimmy Carter and Vice President Joe Biden have accomplished more in one day than MrCruz could even dream of accomplishing in a lifetime. Not only do they comport themselves with dignity and grace, both men have worked hard to raise the quality of life for many less fortunate.
Far more than their beloved patron Saint, Former President Ronald Regan, who armed the Iran Contras.
Name one Republican President who left office and continued to serve the poor, with no ulterior motives nor ego stroking, day in and day out.
    Cruz? Not so much.

  24. Cruz will drop out soon enough. He can't sustain a campaign where he continues to put his foot in his mouth.

Good riddance. Every time I look at him I can't help but think of a pile of oatmeal with two raisins that fell on the floor where the dog hair stuck to it.

I think that would be gay porn he is perusing! Yes, as a commenter said above, where is Cruz' mother? I have never seen or heard anything about her, other than she is an American citizen, thus allowing Cuban Canadian Cruz to run for president. He is the slimiest looking creature, born of the bowels of the Koch brothers, that I have ever seen.
