Courtesy of the Boston Herald:
Two brothers urinated on and beat a Hispanic homeless man who was sleeping near a train station and one of them said afterward that Donald Trump was right about deporting "all these illegals," police said.
The brothers, Scott Leader and Steve Leader, were held without bail Wednesday on charges including assault, indecent exposure and threatening to commit a crime. They pleaded not guilty.
A state police report filed in court says Scott Leader told troopers after his arrest, "Donald Trump was right, all these illegals need to be deported," The Boston Globe reported. Court records show Scott Leader served a year in prison for a hate crime against a Moroccan coffee shop worker after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, the Globe said.
Witnesses flagged down a state trooper at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday after they saw two men use a metal pole to beat a man near an MBTA station and then walk away laughing, prosecutors said.
The victim, who was treated for a broken nose, serious bruises and other injuries, told police he awoke to find the two men urinating before they ripped off his sleeping bag and blankets and beat him.
Look, the "Trump effect" is already starting to spread.
In a few more months I imagine hate crimes against brown people will go up significantly.
I can't even begin to imagine how bad it would be if he were to actually get elected.
Update: Here was Trump's response to this attack:
Told of the attack, which also left the man soaked in urine, Mr. Trump said at a news conference late Wednesday that it was the first he had heard of it.
“It would be a shame,” Mr. Trump said, before adding: “I will say that people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and they want this country to be great again. They are passionate.”
Yeah these guys are just are just passionate about making the country great again.
And with Mr. Trump leading them they will.
Even if they have to beat and piss on every Hispanic in the country.
And it all started as cheap labor for those same people who are vilifying them now. Aren't we a wonderful Christian country?
ReplyDeleteLike attracts like.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
DeleteYou missed a key part of this story - Trumps response. Trump said the two are just trying to make America great again. SMH

Trump's volunteer brownshirts can't even say Seig Heil but they don't need to. We get the message anyway.
DeleteExactly. No condemnation for what they did at all. In fact, he complimented them for their passion. At least he stopped short of praise and encouragement.
DeleteAnd, here is Trump's actually response:
ReplyDeleteAfter he was informed about the incident, Trump told the Globe, “it would be a shame . . . I will say that people who are following me are very passionate. They love this country and they want this country to be great again. They are passionate.”

edit: "actual"
DeleteWe're living in dangerous times.
DeleteIf Trump loves this country so much and wants to make it great again, how come Trump Enterprises imports workers from other countries on H1B visas?
DeleteAren't Americans great enough for Trump Enterprises? Maybe if Trump Enterprises hired Americans that guy would not be homeless.
Also too Mr. Trump how come Melanie waited until July 2006 to get her citizenship? Is Baron an anchor baby, he was born in March 2006. Did Melanie have a valid green card or visa at the when he was born? How do we know she wasn't illegal?
After listening to Trump basically dismiss the violence as an act of "passionate supporters" I have finally stopped laughing at him. He is a dangerous sociopath.
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Angela! Where is the outrage over this from the other passengers in the clown car? This is an excellent opportunity for them to cut this sociopathic egomaniac down to size. I'm terrified that this is not going to end well.
DeleteWow, what if more and more the rich are the other, then the rich will become this homeless man. Hope t rump mirror is the same as this homeless man.

I have a copy of that picture that clearly shows how much of Sarah's jaw has been shaved off in the photoshop process. A lot of Sarah was disappeared for that "photo".
DeleteLast year it was Jeff Foxworthy and this year it's Hollywood Sal the anorectic celebrity. Oy.
DeleteYou'll notice in the sponsors list: HOPE SPONSORS
DeleteChick-fil-A, Inc.
And: Passionate? Trump has an ugly and mean spirit.
I'm surprised at Gryphen. Mr. Trump (and I am not a supporter of his, btw) is not responsible for anyone else's actions. He did not tell people to go out and commit violent acts. Anyone could commit a crime in the name of someone else. If some irate Hillary supporter or Obama enthusiast did the same thing you wouldn't want Hillary or Obama blamed. This should be pretty self-evident.
ReplyDeleteLet me also point out that there have been a few incidents recently where lesbians have claimed to have been attacked or had their property damaged. All these claims proved to be false. But it is in no way a reflection on the LGBT community. For people on the right to try to "score a point" over these fake incidents would be unethical.
If Clinton or Obama were either careless with hateful remarks, that included dismissal of the value of another human being, and someone stated they were justified to commit childish, demeaning, aggressive acts because of those remarks, you're rootin tootin right, Clinton and Obama should be held accountable for their remarks. You know, like when Hilary said.........hhmmmmm.....well, you know when Obama said...................hmmmmmm.....guess they haven't said anything that hateful.
DeleteGo fuck yourself 5:09.
DeleteNo one is saying Trump is responsible for the violent thug's actions----but he is responsible for basically dismissing the violence and saying his supporters are just passionate and want America to be great again.
DeleteSo does that mean the passion of beating a homeless man will help make America great in some way? Trump is either an idiot or he really doesn't give a crap what happens to this country or interestingly enough--trying to destroy the GOP because after he finishes with this crazy racist stuff
will guarantee that republicans get zero percentage of the Latino vote and lose the WH forever. Hmmm.
Actually inciting violence IS a crime in many states.
DeleteSeriously??? Trump claimed these passionate supporters are just trying to make America great again. He should have vehemently condemned their actions as antithetical to making America great again.

DeleteHitler never pulled a lever on a gas oven, but his Cult of Personality and Fascism managed to kill millions of Jews.
Look in the mirror t rump, bad country yes. When you and your like are gone yes it is a great country.
DeleteAs I commented on one of your previous blog entries:
ReplyDelete"Thanks for posting this. I love intelligence. However, we have a situation today in which someone is telling us they want to help "protesters", particularly in Ferguson. What are those helpful meatballs called again? Yes, helping their fellow man understand that if they held a gun in their hands, they would be less bothered by those people with badges and stuff. Me thinks someone is picturing a bloodbath that might be on their own bucket list. Creepy."
The "Oath Keepers" are an example of sick people finding ways to exploit the politics of today in order to justify aggression towards the brown skinned community. I believe news of the "Oath Keepers" attempted manipulation of the passion in Ferguson belongs here in this discussion. They have encouraged protesters to carry guns in order to alter the dynamics of the Police/Black American relationship. They say they would stop harassment by doing so, carrying weapons. Who are they kidding? The aggression that is already accessible to those 'servants of safety' would only be more justified by the guns. Like I indicated, who here really hopes to see the bloodbath that potentially waits?
I bet Sarah Palin has her hand down her pants reading this. Violence turns her on.
ReplyDeleteShe should confine herself to her filthy bed and watch ID TV and read cheap murder novels. She would have an ongoing constant orgasm.
DeleteHere's a thought sarah, read some history about our country. There's plenty of violence and perhaps she could learn a little about the history of the country she professes to love some much but is so woefully uneducated about.
Sick Pieces of Shit, and Donald approves of what they did, says "They want to make America Great Again".
ReplyDeleteI agree, Mr Trump, care to lie on the ground so I can pee in your mouth? And deliver some fresh "Darby's Dose"? Yeah, America was so great when people could freely beat up other people and urinate on them because of their race and social status, Those were the days, huh Donald?
Where's the outrage from the right?
There won't be any outrage because the man was homeless (scandal!) and Hispanic (not white hetrosexual Evangelical Christian).
DeleteIt is Animal Farm all over again - All animals are created equal but some are more equal than others.
True story - a friend of my sister was dating a judge from the southeast and brought him to my nephews graduation. The poor gentleman was floored by the number of students with Hispanic last names and railed about "illegals getting a free education". My family didn't know what to say.
ReplyDeleteIdjut needs to learn some history as we live in Colorado and everyone on the stage was a citizen of the USA and many were here before Colorado was a state.
I am very scared of what happens next because history has been - well - historical. :)
Those of us who remember the past are now condemned to watch on the sidelines as those who don't remember take us down the rabbit hole. Really - there should be some sort of civics and history test for elected officials.
Beautifully said, Connie.
DeleteGreat comment Connie. El Paso, TX, one of the largest if not the largest border town with a very high Latino population has less violence than any other city of its size. If you were born or have lived in CO you grew up and went to school with Latinos, many are some of your closest friends. The best restaurants in my area are the Mexican restaurants they are owned and frequently family run by folks who work their tails off. If you live here chances are you have at least one family member who is married to a Latino.
DeleteThe gop has been stirring up this racial thing since that ignorant twat palin came on the scene. They want a race war because they know most minorities vote for the compassionate party. They also know the Latinos will not be the minority for much longer and it drives them crazy.
He is so thrilled that people are pissing on other people in his honor!
ReplyDeleteNot far off from SP's "kill him" "Blood Libel" hate mongering. Sick ignorant people in our midst who idolize hate and who follow through with this behavior are the real danger to our society.

ReplyDeleteI'm gonna call it -- this was a GOP smear attempt. Like when that fat woman in PA tried to say that some Obama volunteers beat her up and carved their initials on her face and then it turned out she was lying.
ReplyDeleteDo you really think the GOP wouldn't realize that most of its voters would not have any problem with anyone beating up and peeing on a homeless Hispanic?
DeleteSpooky, I was thinking about that woman only last night. I remember seeing a picture of Sarah Palin with a back-to-front B photoshopped on her face.
DeleteOr maybe it's just two assholes who agree with Trump's draconian approach to immigration.
DeleteJust hearing on Hannity a panel discussing Trump's accusation that Jeb Bush has no energy. Trump wants passion and energy, at the expense of pushing the crazy element to the edge. What is next, passional Trumpites killing for him?
ReplyDeleteTrump is dangerous and seems to enjoy the power he has over his base. He seems to love the idea they'd do anything for him, even if it means the angry racist goons he attracts. This campaign of his seems to be some power trip he's on and has nothing to do with a run for POTUS.
Gee, Adolf Hitler seemed to have lots of energy in his early days. Does that make him admirable to Donald Trump? He also did not care if he trampled on people's rights.
DeleteBeaglemom
Like sarah a narcissist who let's attention and power go straight to their heads. They bask in the sun as they imagine the world worshipping at their feet. They can look in the mirror and their hair looks like something the cat puked on but to them they perceive themselves to be "good looking". lol
DeleteI've only been reading here for a few years so pardon my ignorance, but I have a question. Sarah used have pretty hair back in 2008-09, but I noticed when she was on Fox the other day that her hair seems very thin and/or poorly styled. Does anyone know why this is?
ReplyDeleteGreat question! She has rat hair. That is a natural condition for vermin.
DeleteThanks
We suspect her drug use is causing her hair to fall out. And she wears wigs often.
DeleteThanks 7:36, I was afraid I wouldn't get a sincere answer. Some people here are very hateful but I thank you
DeletePeople who are suffering from certain mental disorders, or are in the later stages of various addictions (or often both at the same time) frequently fail to keep up their personal hygiene.
DeleteNow whether or not you think she might have any of those problems, it sure looks like there is something wrong. Add in her frequent bafflingly inappropriate clothes selections and the clues that something is wrong seem obvious to me.
It's almost like she is living a lie and is worried about being caught. That would be very stressful. Amirite Sarah?
In 2008 Palin had a hair stylist and makeup person on the campaign trail. If you are new here you would have been shocked at the obvious wigs that were horrible she wore often on Fox News. She has also worn extensions a lot.
DeleteMost agree she looked great and was well styled during the campaign.
And even the stylists on McCain's campaign have commented about Sarahs lack of personal hygiene.
DeleteNote, he never backs off or in any way considers how his actions and words affect others. Reminds me of the ex-governor quitter.
ReplyDeleteJared Loughner and Sarah Palin in Arizona. These Palins and Trumps are irresponsible.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Trump inspired of these scum balls. Wonder when Sarah will blame Obama for the Duggar mess.

Well we can certainly tell why you are unmarried and most likely never will be.
DeleteYou don't believe in masturbation?
DeleteNo fucking others and no fucking yourself? That's no kind of life.
His supporters seem violent and not passionate. Violence does not make a great country.
ReplyDeleteViolence only begets violence. I don't understand Trump or anyone in the GOP.
DeleteThe GOP must find someone to blame and become the poster child for everything that is wrong in this country. A couple of new cycles ago it was Planned Parenthood, now it's Hispanics.
How can Trump's supporters know the homeless man's immigration status by just looking at him?
Does the USA have a illegal immigration problem? Yes. Is this the way to solve it? No.
When are Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Jeb Bush, or anyone in the GOP running for the highest office in the land going to denounce Trump once and for all?
When one of Trump's yahoo supporters runs into a Hispanic that is armed to the teeth and fires back at them, will Trump say that the Hispanic is passionate about wanting to make America great again by exercising his 2nd Amendment rights?!
We are living in strange times, folks! Stay safe and be well!
Trumpty is such an ugly guy. Eww how can his wife do him. Eck!
ReplyDeleteTrump's wife just thinks about all of his influence and money and she's good to go! I wouldn't be surprised if she's pregnant again.
Delete"It would be a shame...."
ReplyDeleteWhat?
What would be a shame?
It would be a shame if what?
Finish that sentence Mr. Trump. Let us know exactly what you think.
So we all know what a racist prick you are.
Making America great again--one piss-soaked homeless Latino at a time!
ReplyDeleteIt "would be a shame" if someone threw a flimsy paper bag full of turd at Trump. But the passion! The glorious passion!!
Gee, Trump's policies and the "passion" they invoke sound familiar...as if sometime in history something similar happened. You know, when a government declared that all those "others" were destroying the country. He's not the only member of the GOP to espouse this so requiring law enforcement to do his bidding will be easy. Now he may think that he can deport everyone with a Hispanic name but, in the beginning that might prove difficult. Perhaps before he has authorities round up all these "illegals", he'll have to require everyone carry papers with them at all times. Then for ease of the roundup, a system might be employed to easily identify who is who, say like have some insignia sewn onto their clothing...say a star...and then he'll have to have detention facilities constructed, you know camps, to hold these people and then........
ReplyDeleteWhat is frightening is that a large portion of the population of the US is now so far right, they are getting dangerously close to the policies of that form of government. And while they love to pin the label on the President it is they who are treading close to that extreme. It is too bad that civics is no longer taught in most schools to understand that far right, ultra conservative ideology is termed fascism (while far left is communism). Read a bit of history and then listen to the insanity from today's GOP leaders.
This is absolutely spot-on in comparing what's happening to the Third Reich. Will have a Krystalnacht? Pogroms?
DeleteI am no fan of Trump, nor a defender of his behavior, but there are two issues here: a vile act and Trump's poorly articulated response.
ReplyDeleteTrump speaks off the cuff and over explains, often confusing the actual point he wishes to make. I don't believe for one minute he excuses this criminal act.
But it is the act of violence itself that interests me most. Are we to assume the perpetrators are examples of American exceptionalism? People such as these make me laugh. They are like the clowns who drive around with the big Confederate
flags, imagining they are principled and that they represent a country that doesn't even know they exist until they are arrested.
Exactly how did he "over-explain?" He certainly didn't over-explain his outrage or disgust over the beating. He just said it's a shame. Are you saying he "over-explained" why the two brothers beat up their victim? Why would he feel the need to do that? Trump says what he thinks. He obviously thinks explaining away the brothers' behavior is more important than condemning that it.
DeleteAnd how is "speaking off the cuff" any different from "speaking out of his ass?" I'm tired of these kinds of excuses for Trump's nasty attitude and beliefs.
With everything we know about Trump, everything he has said and done, why are you so sure he gives a crap that some homeless Hispanic guy was beaten up?
Every time Donald Trump opens his mouth he provides further proof why he should never hold any kind of political office. He never thinks before he speaks. It frightens me to think that some people admire him for that.

DeleteMaybe I did give Trump the benefit of the doubt; I don't care.
What I like about Trump's candidacy and why I want him to stay in the race is because he exposes how nasty and shitty conservative hate mongers really are.
I never became aware of how nasty conservatives are until the advent of Rush Limbaugh. Since then outrage upon outrage has been spewed from their mouths, without any sort of check or brake. Assailing Obama's birthright was nasty, but yelling out that he's a liar at a state of the union address was beyond the pale, and it's only gotten worse.
Trump says what others feel, but won't say. I want people to be outraged, offended, shocked, and asking aloud how things got to this point? I laugh whenever I think about the republican autopsy. It sounded good and sincere, but it was just another shell game. So I say, carry on Trump, keep at it until the rest of the field is exposed and stripped bare.
I have far more respect for an outspoken oaf who's prejudices are clear than I do for a dissembler. At least the former is not afraid to let you know where
he stands.
So Donald Trump thinks that what made America "great" was beating up innocent people and leaving them for dead. It's a good thing that most of us don't agree. My guess is that Trump thinks that what was done to indigenous people here was just fine. After all, the newcomers were wealthier and had superior weapons. I don't think that Trump would want the Boston thugs who committed this crime punished for their crime. Hey, Trump believes in being some kind of tough. Just not in being decent or law abiding. I sure do not like his world.
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
Don't laugh off Trump, take him seriously and rally against him. The demagoguery that had been perfected in the age of Palin runs deep with the Donald and he has an unhinged following. Have a look at this Salon article: http://www.salon.com/2015/08/21/donald_trumps_campaign_of_terror_how_a_billionaire_channeled_his_authoritarian_rage_and_soared_to_the_top_of_the_polls/?source=newsletter
ReplyDeleteI read the Salon article you provided 5:46. Trump is scapegoating immigrants and foreign countries. Greed took manufacturing from America to China and other countries but in Trump world China ruined the USA economically.
DeleteTrump's latest tactic that physical power and force of an enormous military and victory (kill off obliterate the enemy) is American Exceptionalism is pandering to a group that believes violence scores a win.
I wonder how many "passionate" supporters are enlisting or intending to go into battle to remove and destroy the enemy? Note his first two passionate vigilantes attacked a defenseless man not only attempting to beat him to death but urinate on him.
Trump did not denounce the act. He derived a power surge that his words recruited those two manipulating them to serve his goal.
He's a hate monger on the same order as paylin.
ReplyDeleteAnd, like Palin, he loves the idea that people will carry out nastiness and violence in his name.
