Catholic lawmaker refuses to see the Pope because the pontiff will not condemn Planned Parenthood and will instead discuss "socialist talking points" like climate change.

Hmm, maybe if Gosar DID see the Pope he could tell him that hairpiece is not fooling anybody.
According to his article in Townhall Gosar had hoped that the Pope would discuss things that he cared about such as, "to address the enslavement, belittlement, rape and desecration of Christian women and children; to address the condoned, subsidized, intentionally planned genocide of unborn children by Planned Parenthood and society."

However much to Gosar's dismay the Pope does not work for him, and will instead focus on, as the Republican puts it, "His Holiness instead intends to focus the brunt of his speech on climate change--a climate that has been changing since first created in Genesis. More troubling is the fact that this climate change talk has adopted all of the socialist talking points, wrapped false science and ideology into “climate justice” and is being presented to guilt people into leftist policies."

Aww, somebody has the sads.

So Gosar has decided to respond in the only way he know how, he is going to pout.

"If the Pope plans to spend the majority of his time advocating for flawed climate change policies, then I will not attend. It is my hope that Pope Francis realizes his time is better spent focusing on matters like religious tolerance and the sanctity of all life. As the leader of the Catholic Church, and as a powerful voice for peace throughout the world, His Holiness has a real opportunity to change the climate of slaughter in the Middle East… not the fool’s errand of climate change."

You know I am not one to jump on the Pope Francis bandwagon, and I am still a little suspicious of his motives, but I am a huge fan of how he pisses off those on the Right who cannot believe that he refuses to promote their agenda.

Paul Gosar? From Arizona? No wonder he's got a whack position. He's a Palin endorsed teabagger candidate with more than a few Wasilla Alaska connections.

"Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's endorsement helped Rep.-elect Paul Gosar (R) win a seat in Congress, and now he's rewarding the man who introduced the pair with a plum staff position.

Gosar, who unseated Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D) in Arizona's 1st district, has named retired dentist Rob Robinson as his chief of staff. Robinson left his son in charge of his Wasilla, Alaska-based dental practice to move to Arizona in 2009 and become Gosar's campaign manager, treasurer and chief adviser." http://www.rollcall.com/news/-202005-1.html

" As TPM noted earlier, a new Republican congressman from Arizona has hired two Palin-tied Alaskans to run his office in D.C.

The hirings have everything to do with the close-knit, pro-Palin world of Alaskan dentistry.

Rep.-elect Paul Gosar (R-AZ), who just hired two friends of Sarah Palin's to his staff, is a dentist. His two new Alaskan hires are Rob Robinson, a retired dentist who was active in Wasilla politics and the Alaska Dental Society, and Thomas Van Flein, the Palin family lawyer who has also been representing the ADS for years.

Robinson, who worked as Gosar's campaign manager, introduced Palin to Gosar, who won her endorsement (and the election).

< spent focusing on matters like religious tolerance and the sanctity of all life >

I suspect he means that the Pope should encourage all those who don't define the "sanctity of all life" to mean anti-abortion, should tolerate those who define it as anti-abortion by outlawing abortions. It can't be just allowing them to not have abortions - they already have that right. And there is no pattern of shooting at people who are anti-abortion. Lucy

Awww, don't let it bring you down, Rep. Gosar. Just remember that while this pope goes to bat for the environment, if you wife or daughter or sister was in a Catholic-run hospital dying from a non-viable pregnancy and only an abortion would save her life, while the fetus had no chance of survival anyway... why, the hospital would follow good ol' Pope Francis' continuation of his predecessors' dead-fetus-first/live-woman-last policy. I'm sure THAT would meet your impeccable Catholic standards. No?

The Catholic Church proudly excludes half the population of the planet from any possibility of holding a position of power in the church hierarchy.

They should be dissed by everyone with a brain for that hateful, systematic, disgusting treatment of women.

Then there's the little matter of sheltering and nurturing pedophiles.

How about no condoms to combat AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases?

How about wallowing in the wealth of the Vatican while children starve?

There's plenty of great reasons to tell the pope and his publicity seeking minions to go f' themselves.

The fewer people that attended this misogynists' love fest events the better. I don't care what reason a person gives to ditch the pope-puke speeches. I cheer for everyone that will turn their back on the whole hateful parade.

    1. And it was planned that way by the judicious use in editing what books did and did not make it into the bible and even to the translation.

Just read a great review of a new book called The Grammar of God.

Seems the Ten Commandments were really the Ten Sayings or Ten Statements.

And none of them include Thou shalt not kill. It's Thou shalt not commit murder. Big difference. Even the ancient Hebrews recognized circumstances in which killing is justified.

      www.amazon.com/Grammar-God-Journey-Words-Worlds/dp/0385520824/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442617008&sr=8-1&keywords=the+grammar+of+god

I'd like to see a newly translated old testament as unbiased as possible (because I know sometimes a translator has to make a judgement call) and a new Testament containing only books written by actual apostles who are reporting what they heard first hand from Jesus. Everything else (like Saul) is opinion, hearsay and promotes a personal agenda.

None of this "heresies" stuff because the books don't conform to whatever agenda the church and it's old men wanted to warp and twist it into.

I was sent to Catholic school at the beginning of 4th grade at age 9. On day one on the playground I was told by 9 year old boys how happy they were to tell me that the god I was supposed to worship had made me an inferior because female. Those boys were enabled to abuse me by every nun and priest right up to the pope of that day.

And this pope is still actively abusing 9 year old girls in exactly the same manner by priming boys to glory in their power to tell girls what worthless pieces of shit they are.

I know myself NOT to be the loathsome creature those boys described. And it was a long hard road to get to that knowledge. I can't help all the little girls on all the Catholic playgrounds today. I can, however, tell anyone that expresses a smidgen of respect for any Catholic pope that they are misguided and cruel.

  20. Off track:

The fat lady still hasn't finished the Kim Davis opera.

Seems Davis has interfered with the marriage licenses in violation of the judges orders. (She is such a dumbshit.)

She removed her name and the county from the licensed. One of the deputy clerks says that makes them invalid.

"The attorney for one of the deputy clerks in Kim Davis' office says Davis disobeyed a federal judge's order when she altered marriage license forms for same-sex couples.

Deputy Clerk Brian Mason has been issuing marriage licenses in Rowan County over the objections of Davis, the elected county clerk who believes same-sex marriage is a sin. Davis spent five days in jail for refusing to obey a federal judge's order that she issue the licenses. The judge released Davis from jail but warned her not to interfere as her deputies issue licenses. Davis removed her name and the name of the county from the forms.

On Friday, Mason's attorney, Richard Hughes, said the altered forms would not be valid and thus constitute an attempt to violate the judge's order."

I so hope her ass get's thrown in jail again and she gets another charge slapped on her.

This time she should be removed from office for permanent incapacitation due to being locked up in prison for the remainder of her term.
