"I know how to do this because, yes, I am a Bush." Jeb Bush said that about foreign policy. Right out loud in front of everybody.

"I probably shouldn't have said that."
Courtesy of TPM:

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) on Friday night touted his role as a member of the Bush family while discussing how he would improve the United States' relationship with other countries as president.

"Name a country in the world where our relationship is better today than the day that Hillary of Clinton became secretary of state," Bush said during a speech at the Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference in Michigan, according to CNN.

Bush said that the U.S. might have a better relationship with Iran, Cuba and Burma, but said that ties with countries in the Middle East and Israel have worsened under the Obama administration. The former governor said that he would improve relations with other countries as president.

"I know how to do this because, yes, I am a Bush," he said, according to CNN. "I happened to see two really good presidents develop relationships with other countries."

How can anyone be this disconnected from reality?

Under his brother's administration Americans had to pretend to be Canadian just to travel overseas.

The only countries that seemed to like us better were Israel, because Netanyahu is just as big of a hawk as Dick Cheney, and Saudi Arabia, who loved us so much that they sent fifteen of their people over to help Bush start the war with Iraq that he wanted.

You know when this whole 2016 campaign thing first started I was convinced that in the end it would be Hillary versus Jeb!

Now I don't know what to think.

From now on my go to answer will be, "Beats the hell out of me."

Please don't forget that, early on, Jeb was supposed to be THE candidate of choice for the Grand Old Party, and now,all that's left is face palms and laughter. It's not that he thought it, it's that he said it out loud. Turn out the lights. The party's over.
Babs was right, the last thing we need is another Bush in the White House.

But - but - the ranks of the unemployed will swell if Jeb!? drops out of the race. He has hired ALL the old warmongers from his brother's "safety team"(!!) to advise him once he is installed in the WH. I suspect even Dickless Cheney is waiting in the wings, with daughter Lizard.

Jeb ! has the right idea. Bomb the shit out of them. After all foreign countries love a good bombing. That's why ISIL is in exsistence. The citizens loved being bombed so much they formed a support group.Jeb ! for perpetual war. What a guy.

Goebbels would be proud....repeat blatant and revisionist history with enough confidence and bombast and the republican steeple will be won over....that goes for Darth Cheney as well.

Good news is that Democrats and most indepdendents know better.....hopefully!

Yes! Very appropriate. Big Bar was trying to save him from humiliation, but he would not listen.

  6. Jeb, give up.

Look, the dieting did you wonders, you look trim and fit again, you're 62 and you've got enough to loot to never have to put on another suit and even pretend to be responsible, and best of all, you can stop the cringe-inducing defenses of brother Dumbya, and at all future family events can point a finger at him and say, "It's all your fault, shithead."

    That's what I'd do.

    1. I'm sure this is a Big Bang competition.

You know, DR Cooper, DR Hoffstatter, MR Wolowitz.

Poor Jebbie doesn't want to be the GOV Bush among President Bush and President Bush at the family picnic.

Knowing the Bush brothers he probably feels he's entitled to his turn in the White House.

I would l like to see a GOP "debate" when all the candidates just tell the truth. Would Fox News go off the air, the screen go black? Would the candidates heads burst into flames with the shock? would they collapse in a faint? would we?

How could he be so clueless and/or delusional? Why did President Obama get the Nobel Peace Prize before he did anything as president? Because the world was delighted to get rid of Jeb!'s brother. I wonder if his moneyed backers are banging their heads against the walls. Talk about being "not ready for prime time."

I wonder if they're going to pull old Mittens out of mothballs when the GOP implodes because of their so-called deep bench? I saw that Scott Walker got less than 1% in the latest poll.

It's going to be Mitt. You watch. The rest of this clown show will devour each other so NOBODY wants to vote for them, and next winter Mitt will ride up on Annie's dressage horse in white armor, and an AK-80000 and save the party! He is at least sane..egotistical and stupid, but sane. The same cannot be said for anyone who took that stage the other night.

    1. HIs mistakes seem so avoidable. I wonder if he doesn't really have the "fire in his belly" to properly prepare.
    2. I wonder if people think he is smarter because he is the more attractive brother?
    3. Or maybe he's running because he felt he had to, and is intentionally, or unintentionally, sabotaging his campaign. Probably unconscious?

I'm starting to think that either the whole 'smarter brother' thing was a big misunderstanding and he's really the dumber brother OR he really doesn't want to become President and is trying to lose.

Like you G, I was also convinced that it would be Bush v Clinton. And it still might be, but it might not. All bets are off this time.

I think we will know by March who the Democratic nominee will be, but the Republicans might have a brokered convention. There are too many of them and the R's this year are apportioning delegates; no more of winner takes all. That will bite them in the ass.

I think Jeb!'s original campaign strategy was to look sane next to Trump and thus be anointed. But I think the current strategy is to emulate Mr. McGoo and somehow stumble into being nominated.

It could work because Trump will eventually get his delicate feelings hurt, take his marbles and go home to sulk.

But clearly Jeb! has no clue that the name "Bush" is radioactive. He can not learn, it seems.

You ARE a Bush. Even your Mom said so.
    Check your polling numbers lately?

  13. Here's one for you, Jeb!

    CUBA.

    That's one.

How Jeb! can think he's a born president just because he Dad and brother were shows how totally clueless and STEM deficient his schooling was.

If you want to go there, then Clinton had more up close and personal observation of presidential sausage making then Jeb! did from Florida.

Well, thankfully, at this rate he won't make the ticket. That means whoever does will be much easier to beat by ANY Democrat running against them.

Jeb! should be reminded that his brother forged ties with other countries that are so strong, he has been warned not to travel overseas since he is wanted for war crimes. Imagine that! Carter, Clinton and President Obama can go ANYWHERE in the world, to huge crowds welcomming them, yet W is warned to stay home. Maybe Jeb! IS the smart brother, but the bar is set very, very low.

Jeb!? should attend some charity event raising cash for the wounded. Talk to some of the members who lost body parts while Dumbya was "keeping us safe" By "us" Jeb!? must mean himself and all the family members, plus their fortunes. Clearing brush and boozing on his pig farm ranch kept W safe and his SS guards. What a clueless idiot this guy is, and he looks just as smart as Snott Walker.

The fact that George W. Bush sanctioned torture of human beings did NOT improve our standing with any country in the world.

Among all of the many disastrous mistakes of the George W. Bush administration, the worst by far is:
    the torture of human beings
and that fact will never go away.
