Saudi Arabia has introduced a series of new laws which define atheists as terrorists, according to a report from Human Rights Watch.
In a string of royal decrees and an overarching new piece of legislation to deal with terrorism generally, the Saudi King Abdullah has clamped down on all forms of political dissent and protests that could "harm public order".
Article one of the new provisions defines terrorism as "calling for atheist thought in any form, or calling into question the fundamentals of the Islamic religion on which this country is based".
Joe Stork, deputy Middle East and North Africa director of Human Rights Watch, said: "Saudi authorities have never tolerated criticism of their policies, but these recent laws and regulations turn almost any critical expression or independent association into crimes of terrorism.
You know any country where critical thinking is linked to terrorism is a country to be avoided at all cost.
OR any country based on a religion. Avoid at all costs.
ReplyDeleteAnd do all you can to prevent America from turning into that!
But according to the Gospel of the Hamians (Ken Ham, AiG) a theocracy will fix all our problems. You mean he might be in error? Not possible, he's practically elected himself Pope, and a Pope is never wrong!
ReplyDeleteSome say. Its good to be King
ReplyDeleteOil is king.
ReplyDeleteSo, that's where Ben Carson gets his ideas, Saudi Sharia laws!
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's why the Saudis attacked the WTC, to destroy the atheist terrorists plotting to attack Islam. Let's not forget that it was the Saudis who were primarily responsible for 9/11, and that G W B allowed them to take the first plane out of Dodge.
ReplyDeleteScrew Sauds empower Iran.
DeleteYup,they moved all offices, everything out of the WTC in the six months prior. Airlifted Saudi family out of nev. Bush knew All about it and allowed our people to be slaughtered.
DeleteThe Saudis learned from the Bush administration and took it to the next level. Cynically taking advantage of the threat of terrorism to enact oppressive laws against your own citizens and then redefining "terrorist" to encompass anyone you don't like. Brilliant. And they didn't even need a 9-11.
ReplyDelete"Article one of the new provisions defines terrorism as "calling for atheist thought in any form, or calling into question the fundamentals of the Islamic religion on which this country is based".
ReplyDeleteHmmmm then they also put Christians on their terrorist list too, right? Because Christians more so than atheists call into question the fundamentals of The Islamic religion.
This is the regime that the Obama administration welcomes as the new head of the UN Human Rights panel. Pathetic.....
Actually, I think they got on that panel a while back (I remember Jon Stewart having some fun at that)
Delete"There is no god"...SLAM!
ReplyDelete"But you didn't let me finish the sentence--'but God'!"
So does anyone know if there is a religious test to enter Saudi Arabia?
ReplyDeleteDo they ask incoming tourists and visitors their religious beliefs, or if they have no religion at all?
Sounds like a great place to stay the hell out of if you're not a Muslim.
Of course I could well believe that idiots like Ted Cruz or Mike Lee, or Louie Gohmert would like a religious test to enter the USA.
Maybe they'll take that one step further to mandate that all welfare and food stamp recipients must love them some Jeesus, or no rent or food for those who aren't bible thumpers.
Saudi Arabia is a great place to stay out of if you are a woman.
