Department of Justice finds IRS did nothing criminal in denying tax exempt status to Tea Party groups.

Courtesy Washington Times:

The IRS did mishandle tea party and conservative groups’ nonprofit applications, but their behavior didn’t break any laws, the Justice Department said in a letter to Congress Friday that cleared the tax agency and former senior executive Lois G. Lerner of any crimes.

“Ineffective management is not a crime,” Assistant Attorney General Peter J. Kadzik said in a letter to the House Ways and Means Committee. “The Department of Justice’s exhaustive probe revealed no evidence that would support a criminal prosecution. What occurred is disquieting and may necessitate corrective action — but it does not warrant criminal prosecution.”

What? You mean even though former IRS Director Lois Lerner plead the fifth before Congress, and the Teabaggers are completely convinced that she targeted them for ideological reason, she is not going to serve any jail time?

Right Wing freak out in 3...2...1

P.S. Boy has this been a bad week for the conservatives or what?

Having personal knowledge of a certain bagger who collected funds to promote a certain rouge candidate in 2011 and temporarily misappropriated some of the money, I was hoping the IRS was keeping tabs on some members of the Tea Party. Especially since anyone can set up a superpac nowadays. Scary stuff.

You forgot to mention that liberal groups were scrutinized too. The criteria was any name looking more political than charitable. If I recall the only association not granted non-profit status was a liberal group.

    1. Yes you are right, I should have mentioned that in the post.

Much like Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and now the Planned Parenthood kerfuffle, all of these "scandals" are based on misinformation and truckloads of bullshit.

Yep, the pattern is that EVERY SINGLE so called scandal has been born itself out to be nothing much at all, even though the right wing and their cohorts in congress have screamed, yelled, investigated, smeared, slammed and accused, but nothing sticks, because it's pretty much all bullshit. No scandals for Obama, no scandals for Hillary, no scandals for the Administration, no scandals for Dems...nada. Right down the line, it's all been a waste of time and money and the media has been a complicit player in all of it. Benghazi, Solyndra, IRS, Fast & Furious...all of them just more of the same empty outrage.

Nancy French is at it again:

Bristol Palin accused Richard Dawkins of “defending radical jihadists” in the name of radical atheism following his appearance on an Irish television show, the Friendly Atheist reported.

“Their agenda is to attack people of all faiths,” Palin wrote on her blog. “And Dawkins has to fit even something as obviously evil as the terrorist attacks on 9/11 into his own radical agenda.”

Palin was upset that Dawkins used the attackers as an example of how faith can make good people commit evil actions.

    Grumpy Cat:

President Obama subjected “gloomy” Republicans to some lighthearted trolling in a brief video posted to Twitter by ABC News.

Republicans may be feeling blue because their Benghazi investigation is being bashed as a wasteful, partisan witch hunt that may have only served to provide Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton with a public image and campaign funding boost, but Obama said they’re just generally down on America.

“Overall though, we are making enormous progress and it does make you wonder why is it that Republican politicians are so down on America,” he said. “Have you noticed that? I mean they are gloomy. They’re like Grumpy Cat.”

He then mimicked the face of the Internet’s favorite cat, a blue-eyed kitty whose downward scowl has inspired many memes.

Watch the video, as posted by ABC News, here.

That video is hilarious, as are the comments.

You just have to love how the President just doesn't give a crap anymore and can let his sarcastic sense of humor fly. They can't hate him any more than they already do and he will never run for office again so there's not much to hold him back.

You KNOW the right is going to claim that it was a partisan investigation and that they were all acting under Obama's direct Kenyan Usurper orders.

If they'd REALLLY looked they would have found mountains of evidence that the IRS was full of socialist-communist meanies whose only job was to reject applications from good God-fearing Patriotic By-God-Amurkan groups of people who loves them some puppies and kittens.

This was all a Scandalous Sham, I say...SHAM!!!

I do not believe this decision will matter in conservative/republican reality.
They will continue to run with it as a talking point.

Let's have another investigation! Maybe two or three!
