Donald Trump claims to have a conceal carry permit in New York. Calls mass shooters "geniuses."

Look at that buffoon talking about how tough he would be with a gun. (By the way he claims to have said "Oh they're going to be shocked" and not "shot" in that clip.)

And the problem is that millions of people are hearing this cowboy language, and many of those are in complete agreement with his John Wayne attitude about gun ownership.

Somebody needs to let The Donald know that life is not a Charles Bronson movie.

If you pull a gun on people on the subway chances are you are going to jail.

However Trump was not finished saying ignorant things about guns.

In an an interview on Meet the Press this morning Trump actually said this:

In a rare sit-down interview, for broadcast on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Trump told Chuck Todd: “I have to say, no matter what you do, you’re gonna have problems.

“Because you have sick people. They happen to be intelligent. And, you know, they can be sick as hell and they’re geniuses in a certain way. They are going to be able to break the system.”

Murderers who gun down groups of people are NOT geniuses. Not even in a "certain way."

They are also not able to "break the system." They are simply taking advantage of an already broken system in order to make share their pain with others, kill those they think are inferior, or, perhaps worst of all, simply make themselves famous,

And yes you actually can do something about gun violence, it has been done in other countries, but not while you are too scared of the NRA and 2nd Amendment Ammosexuals to dig your heels in and take a stand.

You know the kind of stand that is not considered politically. Especially by Republicans.

Every day Donald Trump gives more than enough reasons for people to disregard his campaign as a viable alternative to the other Republican candidates and ignore what is clearly a pathetic ego driven cry for attention.

But sadly that is not yet happening, and instead he continues to sit at the very top of the Republican polls. Something which should also make every American disregard the GOP as viable political party in general.

The man's a walking genius, in his own mind. He's going to do all this stuff with no clue where the money's coming from. Can anyone imagine him as president? Sure, the polls are kind to him now, but once the Dems get going, Trump will be a footnote, comedic break, a rebel without a clue,

Look at his history of 4 bankruptcies. He'll just shut down the government, and in his mind, the slate will not only be wiped clean, we'll walk away with winning advantages.

Our heads will be spinning with so much winning.

I am ashamed to be a part of any political system in which this utter moron could even remotely be considered a viable presidential candidate.

Is this jerk calling for more mass shootings because the killers are geniuses with the guns?

How in the Hell is Donald Trump still walking on this earth and why is he continuing to be #1 in the polls for the Republican candidate for POTUS?

What is wrong with Republicans? They are a sick, Christian group!

I know they are and it disappoints me. That's why I enjoy Bernie Sanders; he may have been born a Jew but he is Agnostic and I very much respect that. One of my big sticking points about the establishment of religion in our Government is the National Prayer Breakfast which is organized by a christian lobbyist group.

Time to elect someone who will put a stop to that nonsense. What about "the Establishment Clause? Kinda seems like our Government just ignores that one.

Australia is now calling for a boycott of nonessential travel to the US until we do something. Bravo!! More countries need to do this...it will not change until it costs us more than lives that the GOP considers expendable (we all know the only lives they value are the pre-born anyway, and their own narcissistic selves.) When we start losing millions in tourist dollars, the airlines start canceling flights and laying off people, and the Trump can't fill his hotels, maybe then they will at least think about this. I'd love to see this come up at our debate, and then at the GOP one. Most Americans are FOR ending this insanity. They just aren't in Congress and beholden to the NRA.

"Australia" is not calling for a boycott.

A gun control 'group' in Australia suggested a boycott. And they will have no impact.

It kills me how some people interpret and swallow information... incorrectly.

Bottom line, nobody from Australia is going to change their travel plans and/or boycott travel to the US. So there you go. You and your poorly interpreted and incorrect information. Mate.

Years before Donald Trump became a presidential candidate, veteran journalist Wayne Barrett spent more than 10 hours interviewing him for a 1970s Village Voice series (recently republished here and here), which he later expanded into the 1992 book Trump: The Deals and the Downfall. During a Friday conversation with HuffPost Live, Barrett looked back on his time with Trump and the interactions that made the real estate mogul "tough to like."

"Even at this early stage of his career, he both threatened me and tried to bribe me," Barrett said. "He offered me an apartment. I don't know how he knew that I lived in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Brooklyn, in Brownsville. He said, 'I understand you live in Brownsville. Wayne, you don't have to live in Brownsville. I can get you an apartment.'"

Intimidation of the media was nothing new for Trump at that point, Barrett said.

The only way they will do gun reform is when a group of congressional/senatorial wealthy kids are mowed down. The rest of us are expendable. If it doesn't affect them personally they.do.not.care.

Haha it reminds me of Bri$tol being forced to keep dancing cuz her mom's jack-booted-thug gang kept voting for her.

Trump would probably like to quit as much as Bri$$y wanted to, but every time he says something outrageous hoping to nail his coffin shut, his poll numbers go up a little more. It would be ironic if it's the same gang forcing Trump to keep on dancing even though he's not having fun, anymore.

Donald Trump: More Guns Could Have Stopped Oregon Massacre

    How They Got Their Guns

Criminal histories and documented mental health problems did not prevent at least eight of the gunmen in 14 recent mass shootings from obtaining their weapons, after federal background checks led to approval of the purchases of the guns used.

Christopher Harper-Mercer, 26, killed nine people at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, where he was a student. He was armed with six guns, including a Glock pistol, a Smith & Wesson pistol, a Taurus pistol and a Del-Ton assault rifle

    Stephen Colbert Talks Oregon Shooting

“I think that the least that we can do is not pretend to always know what to do or say. And in the face of the killings in Oregon yesterday, I honestly don’t know what to do or say,” he said.

“I think pretending is part of the problem," he said later. "These things happen over and over again and we are naturally horrified and shocked when we hear about them, but then we change nothing and we pretend that it won’t happen again.”

Why is it that Trump claims he can fix it all....build a wall, boot 'em out, defeat isis, super charge the economy, kick putin's ass, make china beg, show iran who's da boss, etc., etc.....but do anything towards addressing gun violence...no can do.

I hope someone asks him about that.

  20. I'll be the first to say Trump is an idiot. You don't act tough with guns. They are a tool of last resort. Getting your hackles up and blustering only escalates a situation. I'll also say that Ted Nugent is an idiot. He's a horrible representative of the right to bear arms.

But I want to talk about the other side. Take President Obama and his "outrage" over gun violence. That's pretty funny coming from a guy who uses violence to "solve" his nation's problems. He has no problems shipping guns to other countries so they can sort their own problems out by killing each other. He has no problem assassinating "suspected" enemies with drones. He is silent when innocents are killed in US air strikes.

His actions are totally the opposite of his words. You want to know why this country has so many people who are wiling to turn violent to solve their problems? Because we have a government who solves it's problems with violence. You can't tell people to eschew violence to solve their problems, then turn around and use violence on an unimaginable scale to solve problems. We live in a country that is the bully of the world. Our military (ie weapons) is far and away the largest in the world and we spend more on our military than the rest of the world combined. Here is a comparison between the US and Russia and one between the US and China who are #2 and #3 respectively.

    http://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-comparison-detail.asp?form=form&country1=united-states-of-america&country2=russia&Submit=COMPARE

    http://www.globalfirepower.com/countries-comparison-detail.asp?form=form&country1=united-states-of-america&country2=china&Submit=COMPARE

Our gun culture, as you put it, is just mimicking our government. Get as much firepower as you can and push people around with it.

If violence isn't the way to get along in the world, let's see Obama or any leader for that matter put their money where their mouth is and lead the way in de-escalating our armies and weapon systems. If less guns and less bombs makes for a safer world, lead from the top.

Gryphen is fond of saying all second amendment believers should be armed with muskets and swords, because that's what was around when the Second Amendment was framed. Well that might be fine if all Governments are armed with the same.

To sum it up. Obama speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He's more than willing to cut loose with the might of the US military to get what he wants, even if that is just "protecting" our country. But then he says our country is too violent because of guns.

Our country is too violent from the top down.
