Women aren't citizens, just breeding stock - at least according to our conservative overlords....

O/T, but has anyone heard any buzz about Sarah Palin running in the Marine Corps Marathon this Sunday? Some of the C4Peeps are chatting about it; one is convinced that this is "the sign" they've been waiting for that she's running for President. Then again, some of them probably plan their day based on what they drop in the toilet bowl of a morning.....

Yes, the Marine Corps Marathon is this weekend -- runners take off at 7:30 AM (Eastern), Sunday, 25 October. The MCM begins and ends at the Iwo Jima Memorial and winds past most of the DC monuments. I ran it twice -- '88 and '89.

To the point -- who gives a shit if Sarah announces her presidential campaign at the MCM, in Wasilla, in Hawaii, or in the lady's room at a Vegas casino? In fact, I wish she would announce a presidential run -- because -- a Palin presidential campaign would expose to the entire nation just how irrelevant, evil, and ignorant she is.

As it stands now, Palin's sole public exposure is via ghost-written Facebook rants; an occasional speaking gig for a no-name organization that no one ever heard of; and, an occasional mention by a late-night comic. A Palin presidential run would bring her out of the shadows and put national focus on:
      -- the drunken brawl
      -- Bristol's "fucking $300 sunglasses"
      -- Bristol's whoring around
-- the total failure of the entire Palin family to amount to anything but a gang of thuggish rednecks (with apologies to all my redneck friends).

Besides, she's too late to mount a campaign. For example, here in Virginia, she has until 5:00 PM (Eastern), 10 December, to file her candidate petition. She must have 10,000 valid signatures that must include 400 from each VA Congressional district. Not gonna happen, and, I suspect most other states have similar deadlines. After all, if Joe Biden with his solid national stature doesn't have time to mount a campaign, how does Sarah think she can do it? Of course, I realize I am dealing in facts while Sarah and the Palinistas operate in a fact-free world of illusions and bullshit.

      Just my $0.02 worth.

RUN, SARAH, RUN -- I'll crank up the popcorn machine to watch you go down in flames!!!!

I agree, OR. I'd love to see her launch a campaign. It would be hilarious.

Sadly, there's no way she will.

And that's exactly how punishment-obsessed, puritanical right-wing fundies and their congressional minions want it.

New womens suffrage. Women need to organize. Tools, a walk, boycotts, fasting by unwanted pregnancies.

Ok, I'm going out on a limb here but is the whole goal of defunding Planned Parenthood an effort to privatize vagina-care? They push for women to have babies that they don't really care about which creates an expense society does not want to pay for. However, it does lead to generation after generation of money (if privatized) via the lifelong expense of managing the health of my uterus. Technically, Planned Parenthood is corporate America's biggest competition in the health care industry. Follow the money.

  9. Republicans are just short of implementing The Handmaid's Tale.

I laud the brilliant author of that piece. That is a stellar piece of reasoning.
