New evidence proves the Umpqua Community College shooter committed suicide, and new witness debunks story that he targeted Christians.

Courtesy of MSN:

An autopsy determined gunman Christopher Sean Harper-Mercer killed himself Thursday morning after his shooting spree on the campus of Umpqua Community College, said Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin.

Authorities initially believed the 26-year-old killer died in a gunfight with police respond to the campus. He apparently shot himself as cops closed in after responding to a 911 call.

So that is one bit of evidence that disproves the initial assertion by officials that Mercer was killed by law enforcement officers.

Another widely reported "fact" is that the shooter was targeting Christian for execution.

Not so says witness Rand McGowan:

Despite some reports to the contrary, McGowan said Harper-Mercer didn't appear to target Christians in particular.

"He didn't really, honestly," McGowan said in a quiet voice while standing on the doorstep of his house in Roseburg, Oregon, on Saturday morning.

McGowan’s right arm was wrapped up after surgery from a gunshot wound.

"Obviously he was asking what religion, but he wasn't really just targeting. He was kind of just saying, 'Oh, since you have a God, you'll be joining him in a little bit," McGowan told The News.

"It wasn't really like, 'I'm targeting you and I'm going to kill you,'" he said.

In fact the initial reports that Mercer was targeting Christians seems to have come from second hand accounts, and an online dating profile in which he identified himself as a "conservative" and a "Republican," but claims to dislike "organized religion."

Of course that was enough to convince the Wonder Twins to jump on the Christian persecution bandwagon, and for actor James Woods to attack the President for not speaking out about it.

By the way the shooter's father is also now calling for stricter gun control laws:

The father of the gunman who killed nine people at an Oregon community college before turning a gun on himself said the shooting “would not have happened” if his son would not have been able to amass so many weapons.

“The only thing I would like to say is a question that I would like to ask is how on earth could he compound 13 guns? How could that happen? They talk about gun laws, they talk about gun control but every time something like this happens they talk about it and nothing is done,” Ian Mercer told CNN. “I’m not trying to say that’s to blame for what happened but if Chris had not been able to get a hold of 13 guns, it wouldn’t have happened.” Ian Mercer also said he had no idea his son had any guns, let alone more than a dozen. Authorities recovered an additional weapon at the shooter’s home, bringing the total to 14.

The guy is not terribly articulate but I think we know what he is trying to say.

He has a agenda and not for the truth either. He let that christian lie stand and didn't correct it and I believe he won't correct it either. He kept saying over and over "I will not say the killer name" like really weird. Creepy weird. He should be outed as a sheriff and I'm sure next time elections come around people will remember this.
We all have to remember it all starts on the LOCAL level! Even Bitch Palin got her start on the
'silly city council and the pta? Not sure about pta but its starts locally. Want to make a change? go to your city council meetings. Run for Sheriff. Sometimes these aholes get voted in b/c there is no one running against them.

I just viewed a portion of the conspiracy theory film once posted by Sheriff Hanlin (since removed) and I believe he should be taken off the investigation into this school shooting and possibly be encouraged to resign. Hanlin, like Kim Davis, has allowed his personal opinions to interfere with the performance of his job. Perhaps he did not do his due diligence in protecting UCC and other schools based on his opinion of the handling of the Sandy Hook investigation.

It's a bit of Karma that a similar situation as Sandy Hook happened on his watch. I think that his insistence on not naming the killer is just a way for him to feel in control of the situation which is clearly out of control - like the hundreds of school shootings already on record.

    2. time for The RNC and NRA dance with the devils they spawned into our lives

We, the American people for gun sanity, demand that the Republican Party (GOP/ RNC) and National Rifle Association (NRA) "put up or shut up"
      about gun control.

From this time forward, all Republican debates and
National conventions MUST allow full open and concealed carry rights for every attendee. Every journalist, camera person, moderator, candidate and janitor must be allowed to carry any type of loaded firearm to all RNC/ GOP and NRA events, throughout the duration of those events.

No background checks should be required, as the RNC believes that our laws are adequate. If the Republican party and NRA truly believe that guns
make us all safer and more polite, then let them prove it."

The first line of the quote from MSN is suggestive: An autopsy determined gunman Christopher Sean Harper-Mercer killed himself … If the entry wound locations and bullet paths were sufficiently unambiguous, the investigators could reasonably conclude that any shot(s) fired by police were non-fatal.

Nothing is accurate with the media EVER.

That's a reasonable working hypothesis. In this case you can test it by filing a request for the autopsy report.

  7. Just yesterday, I read blurb that parents of children with Asperger syndrome are advised to participate in what the child is fascinated with. His mommy dearest didn't choose his interest in bike riding or comic books, she chose his obsession with guns and target shooting. It's odd that his dad doesn't know how his son had gotten the weapons since his is ex-wife was very loud and mouthy about her vast collection and her hobby of 'up yours' funnin' around when she open carries. She's quite the quiet one since the slaughter. At least the father had the class to publicly show his horror and shame.

    2. Sandy Hook shooter's mum also actively got guns into her son's hands. She seemed to think it would 'empower' him. Oh yeah, it empowered him to kill her with those guns and then massacre children at a school. Why can we not learn a lesson? If you have a son (or child) with mental problems, make sure they don't have access to guns. If they live with you, or if they are in constant physical contact with you, if you have guns, keep them under lock and key so your very much beloved offspring cannot get them to either commit atrocities or off himself.

I would have normally written him/herself, but ... when was the last time it was a woman who committed a mass murder? I mean there probably are one or two, but one or two does not change the statistic. It is predominantly men who commit these atrocities. Why?

So where was this father when his son was amassing all these weapons? Where they estranged? I could understand his frustration if he knew about the weapons and tried in vain to get them away from his son, if there were no legal recourse to accomplish this, but had he so little contact with him and the mother that he knew nothing?

It really isn't surprising that the initial reports didn't have all the facts correct, same thing happened at Sandy Hook, it takes time to interview all the witnesses and get the forensic reports.
What I do love to contrast it with though, is Benghazi.

The republicans are/were so outraged that Susan Rice and Obama didn't know immediately what exactly went down in Benghazi that they've held multiple hearings and investigations about it.

Yet the Umpqua shootings and the Sandy Hook shootings both took place in this country, with a single shooter, in a single location during daylight hours and it still takes days to figure out exactly what happened.
Benghazi on the other hand happened in a foreign country, with multiple attackers, in multiple locations and at night, a night by the way, when there were many other protests in many other foreign cities, yet republicans think the administration should have immediately known exactly what went down and who did it.

Conservatives will never correct the story. They've got their message out that Christians are so persecuted that they're lives are in danger. They'll never admit that's not true.

Just like the story of Kim Davis with the pope. They got the message out that the Pope stands behind her and demanded a private meeting with her. Oh what a victory for religious liberty! But then it was revealed Kim Davis was one of dozens of people in a receiving line that got to shake the pope's hand. And he had no clue who it was....But the conservatives never talk about the corrected story.

Conservatives are dishonest. They can only get their message out be manipulating the truth.

Why is this incident a war on Christians any more than a mentality ill person killing school children a war on public education or a theater massacre a war on Hollywood? Where were the conservative screams about a war on blacks after the church shootings? Why aren't all these shootings simply about mentality unstable people having easy access to weapons? Talk about a persecution complex!

Gun Shop Owner Near Site Of Oregon Shootings Is Giddy: ‘Always A Rush After A Big Shooting’

Candi Kinney is the owner of Roseburg Gun Shop in Roseburg, Oregon. Yes, that is indeed the very same Roseburg, Oregon that has been in the news this week because a man walked onto the campus of a community college and shot 10 people dead.

But hey, why let that stand in the way of making a buck? And Candi Kinney knows how to make a buck selling guns. She has even made sure and ordered more AR-15 assault rifles like the one Christopher Harper Mercer used to commit mass murder. Her reasoning is simple:

“I’ve just ordered some more ARs. There’s always a rush on them after a big shooting. We can’t keep the stuff on the shelves.”

Ah yes! Greed always manages to obscure grief and suffering for those who deal in death and the instruments that assist the Grim Reaper.

Donald Trump says mass shooters are “geniuses” and compares himself to Charles Bronson

...“I’m a very, very big second amendment person,” Trump rambled on by way of making clear that he doesn’t care about school shootings. In his disturbed mind, these shooters are simply too smart for the rest of us to be able to contain: “They can be sick as hell and they’re geniuses in a certain way. They are going to be able to break the system.” That’s right, the republican frontrunner for President is propping up these shooters by praising their intelligence and cunning. But he didn’t stop there.
