We can celebrate our differences or we can use them as an excuse to seek power.

    That's a gross oversimplification.

Yes it is, but is it still too complicated for you?

But at its heart, it's true.

It is the essence of the matter and by nature, the essence is uncomplicated.

Try getting over yourself, 5:41. Really.

Make no mistake about it - religion is at the core of all the violence and deaths in the world. 'My God is better than your God!' But Christians cannot comprehend this.

I was born a human being, and remain one to this day. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's hard to separate the ideal from the practical. While it's true that religions are responsible for many wars and other violence, it is also propagated by selfishness, ambition, need for power, etc. I understand the thinking behind this quote, but I'm not sure it tells the whole story. From a practical standpoint, one of the things that has hurt this country very much is our lost sense of common purpose. I don't want to become nationalistic in the fascist sense, but to encourage allegiance to one country, whichever is the one who has provided the most benefits and opportunity to that person/corporation.

I want companies to feel affinity with the United States again and balance their mission to make money with how best does this entity serve the commons in order to promote prosperity for all. I guess I sound like a socialist now. The quote could be a companion piece for John Lennon's "Imagine." with both advocating for elimination of country, ethnic, and class distinctions. I guess I still want to spend the rest of my time on earth advocating for corporate patriotism and giving up the race to the bottom that is hurting all of us.
