Another story about a parent suing a school over Evolution in the classroom. Wait, this one seems different.

Courtesy of WPBF:

A Boca Raton father and son have filed a lawsuit claiming the Palm Beach County school board isn't teaching the theory of evolution. Brandon Silver, 11, and his father, attorney Barry Silver, filed an 18-page lawsuit last month but plan to serve the board Wednesday night.

"We've been taught about adaptations to the environment but that's not really a direct concept to evolution," said Brandon Silver.

"It's such a magnificent story and it's being neglected. The students are being deprived of learning from it because certain religious people don't like the story because it contradicts the Bible and we think it is terrible that children shouldn't learn the truth about where they came from," said Barry Silver.

Barry Silver said he filed the lawsuit last month.

Well good for Mr. Silver!

Now this is the kind of parent that we need to see more of.

The kind of parent who defends his child's right to learn facts instead of fantasy.

Hear, hear for facts! Related, although indirectly, just how long does Bristol think she can hold off on announcing the imaginary birth date? Human pregnancies do not linger indefinitely.

Gryphen, you first speculated about B's current pregnancy on this blog on Feb 28th. If she conceived Feb 28, she would have been due Dec 5. There is no way in hell she is pregnant anymore. What's the word on the street?

Hopefully this is the beginning of a trend going back in the other direction.

People who use their critical thinking skills don't want their kids to be dumbed down.

It's a case of Fantasy verses Reality. Evolution is important to know as far as the history of our earth and the where & whys and hows of mankind ., Fairy tales are for bedtime.

    OK, Bible people, listen up...
You've got the whole damn thing all wrong.
God created Adam out of clay and then (after Lilith) he created Eve from one of Adam's ribs.
But Adam was NOT the first human being.
    Adam was the first Jew.
Check it out - Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel and after Cain killed Abel, Cain moved to the land of Nod - - where he married a woman.

Where did the woman come from?
Evolution: humans were ubiquitous in the world when God created Adam.

Makes sense when you stand back and think about it for just a minute and it explains SO many seemingly contradictions in assuming Adam was the ONLY human at one time.

So, STOP refusing to allow evolution taught in school: it does NOT contradict your Bible fable. It enhances it.

I've been saying the same thing for years. It makes no sense whatsoever. God made man out of clay, which obviously was a mistake, then he made woman from a man's rib, which was also a mistake or men would have one less rib. I won't even go near the Cain/Abel "wives"
