George Pataki drops out of the race for the Republican nomination as a nation unites as one to cry "Who?"

Source
Courtesy of the New York Times:

George E. Pataki, the former three-term New York governor who undertook a long-shot presidential bid that failed to catch fire, withdrew from the presidential race on Tuesday, urging Republicans in a televised message to nominate another candidate who could bring the country together.

In a two-minute advertisement that aired on NBC affiliates in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, Mr. Pataki, seated before a flickering fire, announced he was suspending his campaign.

The next president must unite the country, Mr. Pataki said, “If we’re truly going to make America great again,” an allusion to the campaign slogan of Donald J. Trump, who Mr. Pataki has often criticized.

Well I for one am happy to see Pataki go because for some reason I kept confusing him with John Kasich.

That might not have been the case of Pataki had anything interesting to bring to the debates, but of course he really didn't.

Gee now that there are only twelve GOP candidates left perhaps they could all finally stand on the same stage for the debates instead of shaming two or three of them by relegating them to the "kid's table?"

Just a thought.

And to think he was one of the few in that sea of Republican clowns that actually had governmental experience!

We had better hope that Trump or Cruz don't win the nomination folks! If either of them were to win against Hillary Clinton, we'll be in more wars - a large amount of Americans would be boots on the ground in other countries where we shouldn't participate - Americans would then be killed - more debt - we'd be anti blacks, browns, Asians and Muslims - increased taxes and on and on.

Americans would not even know or recognize their country under Republican leadership! We need to remember how bad it got under the young President Bush that was led by the asshole VP Dick Cheney!

If you don't care, you had better learn how to, otherwise who will speak up when they come for you?

The "who cares" attitude plays right into their hands.

I think 7:10 was saying he/she doesn't care about the suspension of the campaigns of the many GOP wanna bee's? Does anybody care if a candidate who had no following or chance falls to the wayside? Just thinning the herd.

@817AM, they specifically mentioned candidate ads: "I love how they air these ads pretending that anyone cares."

    O/T

Bristol posted a picture of Sailor on Instagram. Is it just me, or does she look more like Ted Cruz than Dakota?!

What a hateful thing to say about a new life. Ted Cruz is a creepy, ugly man. Sailor is a beautiful baby, regardless of what you think of her mother or mother's family. Geez!

Get over it, dat baby with no baby daddy even though she was "planned" is a dark skinned biracial child that was created without any white sperm.

So, are we done with the "deep bench"? Cause I never got tired of hearing about that "deep bench" and how great it was.

Pataki might have done better had he adopted the proven strategery of affixing an exclamation mark to his first name, as in GEORGE!

Yeah, it didnt quite work for SCOTT!, LINDSEY!, FYVUSH!, RICK!, CARLY! or JEB! but you never know for sure unless you try...

Sure, why not? "JORGE!" would be a better bet though. Might get the Hispanic vote that way.

Why do they all say they are "suspending" their campaigns. Are they planning to resume them at a later date? How idiotic. Why not say they are terminating their campaigns?

"Why do they all say they are "suspending" their campaigns."

It's related to campaign financing law and how remaining funds in the coffer can be used when a campaign is 'suspended' or when it's formally ended. A lot of money can be involved. For instance, Pataki - for whom fundraising did not come easily - may be sitting on enough of a post-campaign war chest to treat every single remaining member of his paid staff to Pizza Hut's fabulous $4.99 all-u-can-eat lunch buffet.

"suspending" means they can continue to collect $$$$$$$ from the rubes. More of those rube $$$$$$$ available this year since most of those idiots have quit sending Sarah Palin their oatmeal money.

Put them all at the "kid's table" where they belong.

Not one of them belongs with adults or serious people.

No...we need Santorum to follow through on SOMETHING and refuse to participate in January. I can't believe the Dirty Dozen still thinks anyone is listening but their minority of hateful idiots with guns. They play to the 'base' all right.

As a resident of New York, I am glad that he's gone from the state capitol AND the Presidential campaign.

I have a lot of deaf friends and the common sign name (a single sign used instead of repeatedly spelling a person's name) they used for Pataki is also the sign for 'penis'. Clearly, the deaf community was NOT fond of our former governor!

George Who? lol. Can't wait for the kid's table's demise. Donald whats his name was on tee vee today on "Trump One" (his fantasy private plane) telling people to be careful touching the ceiling... guess he was afraid Marge Simpson would get it all purpled up, while complaining about Lewinsky and Hillary. Not one iota of class, surrounded by a bunch of hicks who wanted a selfie on the plane tour.

    1. Carson will be going a lot sooner than people might have thought.

He's lost quite a few of his top campaign people. His bid is over. Too many mistakes, too much bad press and now whoever he might have had to do damage control and put out fires have left.

      He's done.

He's at 9.4 now with Trump, Cruz and Rubio ahead of him. Both Jeb! and Christie are going to surpass Carson as he falls and they rise. If he's smart he'll fold before he passes Paul and Fiorina on his drop to Santorum and Graham territory.

I might last until the first caucus but when he loses that I think it won't be long before he folds his tents and slinks away too.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving mentally challenged clown.

I think the next we'll see go are Santorum, Graham, Kasich and Carson.

Huckabee should but he'll hang on tenaciously for a few states until it's very clear he's lost. The next bunch to drop out will be Huckleberry, Fiorina and Paul.

Those sticking it out to the very end will be Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Christie and Jeb! Personally, I think they nominee has already been decided, hence the floating of the brokered RNC. The candidates just need to keep their noses clean and try not to make too big of asses out of themselves. Well, except for Trump. It will *NEVER* be Trump. That's why they're brokering the convention.

None of these losers will win against whoever the Democrats put up, but it might be a race between Christie and Jeb! Both have baggage but both turn the least amount of people off. It won't be Trump and Rubio and Cruz are too Fascist for the Independents and non-partisans.

In the meantime, O'Malley won't last either. I think he's just sticking it out to make it a race. There are probably promises behind the scenes urging him to stay in a bit longer just for appearances sake.

And I'll repeat. If the Dems are smart, they'll put both Bernie and Hillary on the ticket. BOTH of them.

We should really be turning out attention to the Congressional races. That is where the Democratic vote will really make a lasting difference.
