Lindsey Graham drops out of the GOP presidential race.

Courtesy of Politico:

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham is suspending his presidential run, he told supporters on a conference call Monday.

His announcement came on the same day as the deadline hit for him to remove his name from the South Carolina primary ballot, a date that had been closely watched amid speculation that the low-polling Graham would want to avoid a potentially poor performance in his own state’s contest.

“I was hoping not to have to make this call, but I think the time has come for me to suspend my campaign,” he said as he opened the call.

“We’ve come to a point now where I just don’t see how we grow the campaign without getting on the main stage,” he said. “One of the biggest problems we’ve had was to get our voice on equal footing with others. This second-tier debate process has been difficult for us. I think we’ve done well in the debates, it’s just hard to break through because the buzz doesn’t last very long.”

You can see video of Lindsey Graham's message to his supporters here.

Maybe this helps to explain why Graham kept tearing up during the last GOP debate. He knew this was coming.

Well there goes another candidate tumbling out of the GOP clown car, who do we think is next?

George Pataki?

Rand Paul?

Rick Santorum?

Mike Huckabee?

Could be any one of them. Not that it really matters.

After all NONE of these folks have any hope of getting that nomination.

I think what's happening is Kock's money is drying up. Now for all of them that is a problem except trump, however the gop needs to grow some cojones and look no further that payme! Ho shit, there is a mountain of shit to go after her for and Trump being so cozy with her and all the fall out may knock his ass out. Then the GOP can draft Romney.
Oh OT: anyone see that Chelsa is pregnant again? And STILL Married. Married with PLANNED children. What a concept, 'eh STOOL?

Huckabee and Santorum are the next two that definitely need to go. They never should have gotten into the race to begin with.

Both of them run for the $$$. If either one got close to being tapped for THAT much resonsibility, they would head for the hills. Gingrich was the same way, money grubbing. I wonder why he did not tun this time? Maybe another divorce in the works?

He's in a "31 Rock" trailer/video with Palin today. Can't do link but it's just plain silly.

With Graham's departure, the Crazy Quotient just ticked up by several points.

He did provide a bit of seriousness that is quickly disappearing.

    1. Still baffles me how a grown man can believe in the big daddy in the sky. His earthy daddy did a really good job in installing the buttons of belief.

      There is a cure.

“By downregulating posterior-medial-frontal-cortex activity via transcranial magnetic stimulation,

I am baffled by ANY one who needs to believe in sky fairies, male female, white black, young old. It;s just to immature and silly.
Grow the fuck up and realize everyone dies, no one goes anywhere after that and live life to the fullest and best you can TODAY!

I can't take anyone seriously that has religion, I just can't. My mother still clings to a bit of religious belief even though my father raised us all as Atheists. It's one of the things that disappoints me with our President, one of the signs that make me question his intelligence and decision-making capabilities. I always hope that people such as he and Hillary are only pretending as a way to pander to the "belief" crowd for votes but what I'd really like to see is them stand up for what they TRULY believe or don't believe in so we'd know for sure, until then, anyone spouting any religious nonsense or statement of belief makes me seriously question their intelligence and ability to make rational decisions.

    6. 11:06 - to each Her own. Religion provides aspirational comfort, by finding truth in perennial tales that help mortals understand what it means to be human (from the collective psychic perspective). would you discount the genius of Einstein? Life is more than a stack of numbers and equations, my child. Go forth and experience Wonder!

Yeah, right. It also has brought more death, hate, misery and destruction to this world than any other force.

Mankind doesn't need that kind of "goodness".

And Einstein's genius had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with ANY religious ideology!

So, a coup-d'etat is taking place in the GOP. No traditional Republican can survive in the new divided Republican Party. It has been cut in half and the new half is re-creating it. The only old world GOP'er now is Jeb! Jeb! against the wolves who drove his party to ruin.

Can't happen to a nicer crowd. They allowed this to happen. Now the loons from the mental store are in charge. Why? Because no one in the Party corrected or rebuked them early on when they were inciting hatred and division against liberals and the Administration, and anyone who wasn't one of them. They created the damage to the Party by remaining silent and not coming down hard on the inciters. They needed those inciters to lure voters to their side, but never expected to be thrown out to the dogs. But here it is.

The new Republican Party candidate deep bench, replete with every loathsome,
disgusting, narcissistic, buffoons that ever lived.

Here is news that will hit the Palins hard. All of them. I can't recall if Sarah said Track was in Iraq or Afghanistan, either one will effect all families with soldiers who are fighting or in the area.

He's the only one I had any twinge of respect for. When he was interviewed right after Uncle Joe's son died, and he teared up, you could tell he was sincere. Perhaps he'll think of leaving the Senate, and start living an authentic life. At least to himself.

I hate seeing the Republican party immolate like this, the rest of the world is wondering what the fuck is wrong with us, and the way the country is gerrymandered, so many people live in districts represented by the very worst of us. It breaks my heart.

I remember around the time Eric Cantor ran and lost his seat, one of the teaparty faction held a televised Town Hall meeting, back then, they was gunning for Lindsey HARD!!! I don't know why the SC teaparty hated him, but I was surprise he won his seat, safe to say his own State doesn't like him.

I just couldn't bear watching poor Lindsey's "Goodbye" speech, I imagine he got the vapors and retired to his fainting couch while two shirtless men fanned him with ostrich feather fans. Poor baby.
My money's on Santorum next. If you can't make it to the big clown's table, you ain't got what it takes.

  17. You mean,....he was still *in* the race? I thought he dropped out months ago.

I don't even remember if I predicted he'd be next.

But I think Pataki will be the next to go.

The rest will hang on as long as possible just for fund raising purposes.

But I think it will then be:

    Paul
    Huckabee
    Christie
    Fiorina
    Santorum
    Carson

I think Cruz, Rubio and Trump are going to try to stick it out until the end.

But that may change after the first votes. What is that? Iowa? February? I don't pay much attention to the Republicans.
