Politifact's "Lie of the Year" is essentially everything that comes out of Donald Trump's mouth.

Courtesy of Politifact:

It’s the trope on Trump: He’s authentic, a straight-talker, less scripted than traditional politicians. That’s because Donald Trump doesn’t let facts slow him down. Bending the truth or being unhampered by accuracy is a strategy he has followed for years.

Politifact then goes on to list some of Trump's many, many whoppers:

• "I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down," he said at a Nov. 21 rally in Birmingham, Ala. "And I watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering." Pants on Fire. There is no video of thousands of people in Jersey City cheering. Weeks later, Trump continues to stand by his claim but has not been able to point to evidence to back it up. Public safety officials on the ground in New Jersey say it never happened.

• "The Mexican government ... they send the bad ones over." Pants on Fire. There’s no evidence to show the Mexican government encourages criminals to cross the border. Most illegal immigration comes from people seeking work. Recent estimates show illegal immigration from Mexico dropped off dramatically during the recession and has remained low.

 • "Whites killed by whites — 16%. Whites killed by blacks — 81%," said an image he shared on Twitter. Pants on Fire. Most people are killed by someone they know, and someone of the same race. The correct number for whites killed by whites was 82 percent in 2014, while the number of whites killed by blacks was 15 percent.

Trust me Politifact has many more to share as well, but of course most of us can also undoubtedly name off a half dozen or more ourselves.

Essentially Donald Trump is a wealthy man surrounded by sycophants, so usually there is nobody around to call him out on his bullshit.

And though it seems fairly clear that the Republican base does not care about lying, in fact they seem to support it, I imagine the American people as a whole have higher standards.

Hey look this is yet another thing that he and Sarah Palin can bond over while eating bad pizza on paper plates. After all she was the 2009 winner and she is STILL pissed off about it.

Too bad their poll isn't reflective of ALL voters throughout the country. (It's only Republicans!)

Would also be interested in hearing the specific questions that are asked.

He's going to lose big time should the Republicans be idiots enough to put him up as THEIR candidate for POTUS!

Ornstein noted that even if 30 to 40 percent of Republican-leaning voters support Trump, that’s still a fraction of the overall electorate. And outside his

Trump seems aware of this, as he writes in The Art of the Deal:

"You can't con people, at least not for long. You can create excitement, you can do wonderful promotion and get all kinds of press, and you can throw in a little hyperbole. But if you don't deliver the goods, people will eventually catch on."

At what point will Trump get tired of being the biggest clown in the clown car? When will he get tired of putting on the same act? Each time, he goes over the top, saying something even more outrageous than the last outrageous, racist, sexist, hateful thing that he has said. When will people catch on that he is the Clown Comic with no political agenda other than making America great again. What, go back to the failed economies under Reagan and GWB? Eisenhower? Oooooh, before we brought slaves from Africa to pick our chief export crops of cotton and tobacco. If we go far enough back, American wasn't really all that white.

      Sanders on Trump:

“He has discovered that women go to the bathroom, and it’s been very upsetting to him,” the senator from Vermont said of the real-estate mogul during a rally here that drew about 1,800 people.

“This is a guy who wants to be president of the United States. He must have a very unusual relationship with women.”

Yes, and pee being associated with ladybits isn't the only thing he finds disgusting about women.

Baby food (milk) coming from lady boobies also disgusts him.

"3.) In 2011, a female lawyer asked for a break to pump breast milk for her infant daughter. The attorney told CNN that Trump didn’t react very pleasantly to the news…” He got up, his face got red, he shook his finger at me and he screamed, ‘You’re disgusting, you’re disgusting,’ and he ran out of there,” attorney Elizabeth Beck explained. Trump did not refute the claims."

He is not only a disgusting, repulsive pig. There is something as deeply creepy about his obsession with how disgusting women's bodily functions are as there is with Palin's public disparaging comments about men's genitalia and sexuality.

We HAVE to hold on to this belief or we are lost. But why can't mainstream media journalists call him out immediately on all his blatant lies? AND stop reporting on every fart that spurts from his sucking-lipped pouty little mouth.

Glad to see that 200,000 people petitioned CNN to stop the Trump all-the-time nonsense and give air time to Sanders & Hillary and the issues Americas want discussed.

Good observation! If you scroll down a bit, you see that on Dec. 15 she tagged it as Sarah Palin at The Venetian Las Vegas.

My followup question -- why is she in New Orleans, Louisiana today when her daughter's due day is tomorrow?"

Donald Trump’s verbal attacks on women have done little to dent his meteoric rise, but a deeper look at his polling shows the threat of a gender gap ripping open if he becomes the GOP nominee.

The billionaire businessman outdid himself during a rally in Michigan on Monday night, mocking Hillary Clinton for a “disgusting” bathroom trip she made during the most recent Democratic debate and commenting that Barack Obama “schlonged” her in the 2008 primaries.

While it marked a new low for Trump, he’s no stranger to accusations of misogyny, with Fox News host Megyn Kelly sustaining vicious attacks after she pressed Trump on whether he was part of the “war on women” because of his past references to females as “fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals.”

On the surface, it doesn’t appear that Trump’s gendered attacks have damaged his candidacy throughout his 6-month-old presidential campaign. Trump remains not just the national front-runner — he’s also ahead in many of the key early-nominating states.

But Trump’s current coalition in the primaries relies heavily on male voters — especially less-educated men. The female vote is less important in Republican primaries — where, because women are more likely than men to be Democrats, they make up a minority of the electorate — and a candidate who appeals mostly to working-class males can emerge in a fractured field. Once that field is whittled to only the top candidates, however, the 40 percent to 50 percent of the GOP primary vote represented by women will become crucial.

And with women expected to comprise between 52 percent and 54 percent of the November electorate next year, Trump or any other Republican can ill afford to lose ground among female voters. (President Barack Obama won women in 2012, 55 percent to Mitt Romney’s 44 percent, according to exit polls.)

America, Look at What Donald Trump Is Doing to Us

There’s been an uptick lately in anti-Muslim violence across the United States. There’s one big reason we’re being radicalized. Guess who.

During Saturday night’s Democratic debate, Hillary Clinton declared that Trump is “becoming ISIS’s best recruiter.” Clinton was wrong to suggest Trump had appeared in any ISIS videos but she was right to note that his words will help ISIS radicalize people.

She also left something out: Trump has already radicalized Americans to commit and plot acts of violence right here on American soil.
