Donald Trump, just like Ted Cruz, has every intention of pushing the Supreme Court to the far Right.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sunday that, if he becomes president, he would “strongly consider” appointing Supreme Court judges who would overturn the court’s decision to legalize same-sex marriage.
]
“It has been ruled upon,” Trump said on Fox News Sunday. “If I’m elected I would be very strong in putting certain judges on the bench that maybe could change things.”

When asked by host Chris Wallace whether that meant trying to appoint justices to overturn the ruling, Trump said he would “strongly consider that, yes.”

"I wish it was done by the state,” he said. “I disagree with the Supreme Court … it should be a states’ rights issue. And that’s the way it should have been ruled on.”

This is usually where I mention how important it is for us to elect a strong Democrat in 2016.

But do I really even have to say that anymore?

Will Sarah Palin, Camp Follower, continue to appear for Trump? Fling commercial in the cattle car? Dragging Willow around with her? Dressed like Yoda with purple suede boots?

"Will Sarah Palin, Camp Follower, continue to appear for Trump?"

Much like prostitutes during the Civil War followed the soldiers, Palin will do her best to stay relevant to Trump.

My opinion is that he doomed himself in Iowa by allowing her to speak there. The reaction from those assembled told the whole story then.

If Donald Trump truly wants to win the nomination, he needs to banish Sarah Palin to the backwoods where she can shriek her demented thoughts into the winds of the wild.

She's poison to sny campaign, which makes me wonder if an unknown third party paid her to endorse him.

  2. You know, I'm beginning to think that Trump is so god-damned bizarre that I don't put it passed him to gain the nomination, stand up and say, ONLY KIDDING, and make everyone's jaw drop.
    That would be bizarre.
When you look back at his stances from years past his present positions are just too obtuse to make much sense. It almost makes as much sense that The Donald is playing the Rethuglikan Party,...big time. God I love this thought!!!
It would make the pain of this campaign season worth it, by a long way. Let me have my fantasy.

Trump wasn't in the Iowa that farms; he was in a tiny slice of transplanted urbanity. Wonder if they spent the night on his plane?

I don't think anyone knows what Trump would really do as President! That shows how far the republicans have fallen down the rabbit hole.

I think an understanding of SCOTUS's power over our everyday lives is something moderately engaged Democrats often lack. Too many people truly have no idea how important this is.

Considering many farmers have lost their land to giant consortiums, I thought Trump’s comment last night that he wants to buy a farm very tedious and tacky. We get it Trump, you are rich. However the fact you have to keep reminding us makes me think you are a very insecure and petty person.

I am not surprised Trump will appoint very conservative judges, he like the rest of Republicans are all about taking away our freedom and rights which just demonstrates how little they understand about the history of our founding fathers and the ideals behind our constitution, bill of rights and what a democracy is.

"...Trump’s comment last night that he wants to buy a farm very tedious and tacky..."

Not to worry; he was just being political and playing the crowd. Donald is too much a city boy to ever want to live in a rural area.

No, I think he and Melania would like a new reality series: "Green Acres - Trumps in Iowa."

The history you write of, is what got him to where he is. That's what is not spoken. No they do not stand up for history just themselves, me and my.

Any judge a Republican picks is going to have right leanings -

The same for Democrats - left leaning!

That should not be a surprise to anyone!

if same sex marriage is a states rights issue, then ALL marriage is a states rights issue. miscegenation and marriage to immigrants included. Think about that one for a minute, Donnie.

  11. Cruz would turn the court to the right for religion.

Trump would turn the court right for capitalistic profit. Oh and his private racism and bigotry.

Doesn't matter the reason. The result will be the same. Fascism come to America.

That is why the Dems need to win.

I think Iowa is clear. No matter who wins the Dems need BOTH Hillary and Bernie on the ticket.

The hubris is beyond the pale. How far back do they want to take the country? Women's rights, reproductive rights, gay rights, equal pay for equal work etc etc...
This is why we've got to get out the vote, SCOTUS is just the tip of the iceberg. People died for our right to vote, and these morons want it their way or no way. Over my dead body, morons.
