Elizabeth Warren says she does plan to endorse. Just not yet.

During an interview with the Boston Globe Elizabeth Warren was asked to giver her opinion of Donald Trump:

‘‘Donald Trump claims that the reason he’s qualified to be president of the United States is that he is a very, very, very successful businessman.’’ Warren told reporters after touring a community health care center. ‘‘Donald Trump is not a great business success and it’s time he’s called on it.’’

Warren also said she’s troubled by the authoritarian image she said Trump is cultivating, noting that he retweeted a quote from Benito Mussolini, the 20th century fascist dictator of Italy.

Trump last month said he knew who said the quote, which read: ‘‘It is better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep.’’ He said it didn’t make a difference whether Mussolini or someone else said it because it’s an interesting quote. ‘

‘He’s the one who quotes Mussolini,’’ Warren said. ‘‘That is really scary and the American people should pay very close attention.’’

She was also asked whether Bernie Sanders should drop out of the race:

‘‘He’s out there. He fights from the heart. This is who Bernie is,’’ Warren said. ‘‘He has put the right issues on the table both for the Democratic Party and for the country in general so I’m still cheering Bernie on.’’

On the question of endorsement:

She said she plans to make an endorsement, but not yet.

I kind of mulled that over in my head a little, because I really feel that a Warren endorsement is a potential game changer at this point.

If she endorses Sanders she revitalizes his campaign and really puts extreme pressure on Clinton to refocus on Bernie rather than keep her attention aimed at Donald Trump and the general election.

And if she endorses Hillary, well I think that will signal it is time for Sanders to pack it up and call it a day.

Of course Warren could decide to keep her powder dry, and her options open, and simply wait to endorse until after the nomination process is over and a clear winner is decided.

I wonder what it feels like to have the kind of power that Elizabeth Warren now wields?

When it comes to Senator Warren, I have never thought of her in a wielding power sense, but more as a champion of what's right. She has plenty of time to endorse!

I totally agree. Both of the Democratic candidates are far more prepared and qualified to run for President of this country than any gop candidate.

All progressives need to stand united whether it is Hillary or Bernie as the Democratic nominee against (in all likely hood) Trump. For this reason any many more:

You can't relate to the power that Warren now wields?! With all of the dirt you know on the Palins and how you're gonna bring them down at just the right time and it's gonna be so epic?! I'm shocked!

Mrs. Warren likes what Bernie is saying (as do a lot of us), but she also knows he will never get the social issues through, IF he were elected POTUS.

She also knows that Hillary Clinton can step into the job of POTUS the minute she takes the oath in January, 2017 due to her history, experience and knowledge.

Bernie is a nice guy, but not a doer!

I guess if you had been nominated to be the vice president of the United States or ever been in charge of delivering home baked cookies to starving villagers you'd now how it is to be someone important and powerful like Elizabeth Warren but instead you probably sit around blogging in your underwear and eating cheetos and invading the privacy of private people by letting others repost and make fun of every picture and thought they post intended for only family and friends to see but oh no it will always be front and center on some soon to be defunct blog and now a private custody battle is almost as many clicks and posts here as Ted Cruz and his rumored cheating whats next is no you've done enough and have you no sense of decency at long last have you no sense of decency left they say there no such thing a stupid question but I pretty sure this is a stupid question to ask here at this blog.

Best run-on sentence of the day, Lou Sarah! Sadly, that's not a good thing, but you go, girl, bless your frozen heart, also too.

      (nice Joseph Welch allusion, btw...)

Endorsements are stupid and meaningless, or they certainly should be anyways. I can't believe you push and promote this crapola.

Our we lowly serfs directed to follow the instructions of the lesser kings and queens to anoint the almighty or be damned?

Each individual vote matters, and is your own important vote no matter who you want to vote for. Listen to your own heart and follow no other instructions.

ps. Warren is a homely woman.

blogs like this expose hypocrites that say one thing and do another. Haven't you kept up with your family? Haven't you kept up with the Governor of Alabama? Bill Clinton is starting to look like a baby face cherub becide these honry old Republican men. Want to stay away from the press? Then stay away. We all have shit that could hit the fan. Only human of us. So if you're out there spewing values and you get caught with five mistresses, and acting like Hitler, and pawning yourself to the highest bidder people are going to comment. It's always been a two way street.

  11. I'm glad it's Elizabeth Warren who has the endorsement to make. I believe she'll use some intelligence. There are people who, if they held that power, would frighten me.

"who has the endorsement to make."

What the hell does that mean "the endorsement"?

      What exactly is "the endorsement"?

You could make an endorsement too if you wanted to, would that also be "the endorsement"?

To echo you, Ivyfree: I'm thrilled that the power to choose is in Warren's hands, and I'm thrilled at feeling I can totally trust her to make the right choice.
