National Republican Senatorial Committee tweets accusation that Democratic Senate candidate who lost both legs in Iraq, does not "stand up for veterans."

Courtesy of Politico:

The National Republican Senatorial Committee tweeted Tuesday that Illinois Senate Democratic candidate Tammy Duckworth, who lost both her legs while serving in the Iraq War, "has a sad record of not standing up for our veterans."

Her campaign shot back immediately, calling the tweet "tasteless and dishonest, just like everything else to do with Mark Kirk’s flailing campaign."

"Tammy has made fighting for veterans her life’s work, and will continue to so in the Senate,” said Matt McGrath, the campaign's spokesman.

The NRSC deleted the tweet within minutes of posting it. The committee acknowledged that the tweet was a mistake, according to an NRSC aide, but renewed its attack on Duckworth.

Tammy Duckworth just sitting there and refusing to stand up for veterans.
You know I used to miss those old Keystone Kops episodes on TV, but now that I have the Republican party to fill the void I really don't think about them anymore.

The lady is a decorated combat wounded helicopter pilot who lost both legs in a crash.

She attained the rank of Lt Colonel in the Army National Guard, and retired in 2014.

She has been continually attacked by such despicable cowardly chicken-hawk bastards like Joe Walsh who was delinquent on his child support,
and kicked out of office for being so viciously nasty and divisive.

Here's Joe the lunatic screaming at his constituents

Now she's being attacked by a flock of Republican failures, Mark Kirk being just one of the Trump worshipers who question Tammy's record of achievement.

I guess the only good democrat is one who burns to death in her helicopter so she can't run for office.

Crass isn't the word for Republicans.

No, the word for them is, hmmm, oh yeah, it's ASS.

And you can concatenate that with "Holes". And when you do, that's the exact shape of Drumpf's lips!

Fuck the GOP. They are constantly trying to swift boat Democratic veterans.
I rarely donate to those who I can't vote for but I am making an exception since the GOP really stepped over the line on this one.

Swift boating ... that's a perfect description. I usually keep my donations local too, except when these twits attack so egregiously. And very especially when they attack women. Old girl's network rules!

  6. I very proudly voted for Duckworth last week in early Illinois voting. She'll be great as senator.

I'm tired of the broad sweeping general accusations with now facts to back them up. Like, POTUS violates the constitution. Which part? When? How? Hillary lied. By saying what? How do you know, factually that it was a lie? Now Tammie doesn't stand up for veterans. H o w? By doing what? Of course can stand up. But the snark o f pointing her leg injuries demeans her sacrifice to all of us and is that of a softball argument.

Whenever you think that GOP spokespeople cannot sink any lower, they do just that. It's ironic that the GOP is run by so many who have no military credentials at all and who, when in Congress or in the White House, do as little as humanly possible for veterans. The GOP is all talk - and never any action.

The GOP knows exactly what they are doing, throw out a false statement then apologize.

The opposition spends all their time defending themselves or trying to get the truth out, but it never has the same impact as the repeated lie by the GOP.

One great example is all these Republicans that keep repeating Hillary will be indicted by then.

They never say and no one asks indicted for what

I tried to speak with Tammy Duckworth at a veterans conference and found her to be overly uppity. I was not impressed at all. For several reasons, I believe that what is not being "advertised" about her now is true.

    1. Anon 10:54am: What the fuck does "uppity" have to do with Republicans saying that Duckworth doesn't stand for veterans? NOTHING, asshole.
Duckworth spent 10 more years in the guards, after she lost 2 legs, and the use of one arm. Being "uppity" to you, doesn't give Republicans; most whom have NEVER served, the right to fricking lie about Duckworth.

Yeah, I've met your type - any woman who is not barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen OR taking the appropriate 'back seat' is considered uppity. And fighting and being wounded - well, that just makes her 'overly uppity'. Get over yourself. I've met your kind before.

To the rest of the world, uppity is code for "Because I'm insecure, I put others down to feel better about myself."

How proud you must have felt when you anonymously published your thoughts.

Kinda reminds me of when you talked about the Governor of Texas, strutting around a campaign trail, shaking in his boots, and standing on a debate stage.

    1. Yeah I remember that. Living in Alaska I had no idea that Greg Abbott was confined to a wheelchair.

However Tammy Duckworth is a national figure and her heroism, service to her country, and the cost she paid for that service, are well known.

Or at least they should be by anybody working with the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

I'm sick of the GOP's bullshit and their getting away with it every time. Carly Fiorina's looks, Megyn was bleeding from everywhere, joking about a man with disabilities, and now disparaging a woman who served admirably and lost limbs. Why has it come to this low a level? These people can't help what they look like nor get back the limbs they lost, yet they get up every day and do their jobs to the best of their ability to help other people.
I don't believe in Hell, but if there is one, there's a special place for all of them.
Tammy deserves our respect and gratitude, because she's a lady whose earned it.
