A must see Mormon missionary parody of Adele's song "Hello."

I thought after all of this talk of politics it might be nice to watch something that is humorous, very creative, and mot terribly political.

I have to say that the lead singer on this has a great voice.

Kind of reminds me of the "Book of Mormon" on Broadway.

Yes but did you think of the video and the young man's voice? Lighten up.

Mormon? The video reminded me of Evangelical Ted Cruz campaigning in NY wearing a yarmulke pretending to be a Jew.

The singer's almost certainly gay. I wish him luck dealing with that in his church. It's likely he'll marry some hapless woman and make them both miserable for life.

What a voice! The parody was clever, too. OK, Jehovah's Witness's, the gauntlet has been thrown down...

    Too funny.

I'd let 'em in to be disabused of their 'religion' after an hour's hard work for me.

Draft avoidance in the old Vietnam era (and before).

Anti-war religious objection did not work so well for Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali, though.

Think Mitt Romney in France for his 'mission' and avoidance of the draft.

  15. I was rather amused to see the clueless Mormon boys serenading the Hindu fellow about halfway through the video. Did you notice the "om" symbol on the door (at ~2:45)?

It would have been fun for one of the residents to be Hassidic too.

It is Bill Clinton who unleashed 100,000 new cops on the streets of the United States, eliminated welfare as we knew it, escalated the mass incarceration of the poor, gutted habeas corpus, intervened against striking railroad workers, deregulated the banks, failed to pardon political prisoners like Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu-Jamal, imposed NAFTA which destroyed remaining gains of the Mexican Revolution like the tortilla subsidy, destroyed Yugoslavia, and murdered millions through his economic blockade of Iraq. Bill and Hillary Clinton are the actual super-predators. They are super-predators on behalf of the wealthy capitalist class.

  20. Erm, that was by LDS|Smile. It was to show us how missionaries get it wrong by taking (talking) time away from people without giving anything in return.

It was a training viral film to show how to win people over to opening their door to that 'Hello' from the other side.

A parody in its use of another's work. Not a parody in that it ultimately upheld its subject, the Mormons.

I was wondering about this; that it wasn't a parody, especially at the end. Thanks Jacob. I still thought the film was just fine; the perfect use for Adele's song, which I find a bit too much sweetness.

  21. That was almost perfect.

However in the end, the couple should have taken the book and then handed them a Koran and tried a little counter conversion.

My husband is a devout Catholic, retired now. He actually attended seminary from age 12 through graduation from college but decided not to become a priest. Of course we are liberal, and he is interested in everything. He owns a Koran and a Book of Mormon both of which he has read parts of. Since we moved to the little Ohio town where we now live he is on his 3rd pair of Mormon elders. He welcomes them in and they discuss Mormonism versus Catholicism. He asks them lots of questions. They are all about 18 years old and so seriously sweet. Two of them did help him with yard work one day, in their black pants, white shirts, and ties. He has told them there is no chance of him converting but they just seems so glad that someone will talk to them. As for me, I'm an atheist. If I'm home I do not stick around to talk with them or even hear them. LOL!!

It's blasphemy! Adele is a goddess with a fantastic voice and talent, the one they should parody is Miley Cyrus "Wrecking Ball". Funny as hell, though. Thanks for the laughs.

  24. I have to admit, that lead singer (the guy on the left) has more and larger teeth than Mr. Ed.
