Courtesy of the Daily Beast:
Bernie Sanders cares about the little guy. Except when the little guy disagrees with him.
That’s the message the Democratic presidential candidate sent when his campaign threatened legal action against a small T-shirt vendor who had dared to make fun of him.
Late last week, a Seattle lawyer representing Sanders’s campaign demanded that LibertyManiacs, a three-employee online merchandising shop, immediately take down T-shirts that humorously portrayed the Vermont senator alongside a pantheon of communist figures, with the caption: “Bernie is my comrade.” (A red star replaced the dot over the ‘i’ in Bernie for emphasis.)
Using high-priced lawyers to bully a small business that is making fun your campaign is an odd move for a politician who has built a grassroots movement on protecting average Americans from the whims of the rich and powerful.
Okay come on now, if this is not straight out of the Donald Trump playbook I don't know what is.
And if Sanders wants to continue in this race he better grow a thicker skin because this just the beginning.
There is also a book coming out that claims Sanders was kicked out of a commune for being lazy, and renewed discussion of the fact that he spent his honeymoon in what was then the Soviet Union.
Let's face it this is only the tip of the iceberg for the negative things coming Bernie's way.
There is a whole lot that has not yet been revealed that is going to get under his extremely thin skin and cause him no end of irritation should he continue forward.
The difference between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton is that she thrives while under constant attack, and he has not faced anything even remotely like this in the past.
I don't understand why he'd be offended. What is this 1980 and the "Red Scare" is still a thing?
ReplyDeleteI still find him much more palatable than Hillary so whatever, just keep bringing it, slam him, denigrate him but most of us will still write him and and quite a few of us will actually vote for Trump, just to blow it up.
I can't believe that people are being so childish about Bernie, but really, it doesn't matter. Trump 2016 is becoming more and more a reality and I can't wait to see you all just whine and cry and try to leave the country when that happens. Smiles, big smiles and big laughs all around. Maybe we'll make a "go fund me" to help all you whiner titty babies re-locate to Guatemala. Yes, we'll do that.
I like Bernie, I really do. I've appreciated his views for a long time. But his supporters- fans, really- are another matter. You're a case in point. Fussy toddlers, throwing tantrums. I've got kids and grandkids who did the same, you can't get mom to change her mind by kicking your feet and yelling. Now go play and let the grownups have a discussion of issues.
Delete"quite a few of us will actually vote for Trump, just to blow it up."
Delete---------------------
And you have the gall to call other people "childish" about Bernie?
I can't take anyone seriously who thinks it would be amusing to see Trump as president and choosing nominees for the Supreme Court.
And apparently you won't be harmed by a Trump presidency, but you think people being harmed or desperately trying to flee the country are just a laugh riot and to be sneered at.
If I based my opinion of Sanders on fans like you, I would have to assume he's the world's biggest asshole.
2:06PM
DeleteYou are a child.
Hillary fans still think that all Bernie supporters are democrats and will simply vote Hillary if she takes the nod just because she was the other democrat. How little they know about the dislike/distrust of the status quo- and how much people simply despise Hillary.
DeleteSorry Gryph- your continued and feeble attempts to whitewash Hillary as the victim of 20 years of attacks by the right wing are ludicrous. Hillary the victim, what a larf. We are not that easily reprogrammed to love Hillary, nor are we all necessarily democrats.
I do think that Bernie's supporters have a father complex. The authoritarianism is one sign; the misogyny is another.
DeleteNefer, you ALWAYS say just the right thing....
DeleteI don't know about that 3:09, but any man who supports Hillary definitely has an Oedipus complex.
DeleteMost Bernie supporters are probably smart enough to realize the sooner the system is upended, the better.
2:06 PM - pot meet kettle!
DeleteNefer at 2:32 pm. I agree with you completely. Any person, who claims to be a liberal supporting Bernie Sanders who would even remotely entertain the notion of voting for any GOP presidential candidate in November, is not liberal at all. And certainly is not a Democrat.
DeleteBeaglemom
3:19 -
Delete"the sooner the system is upended, the better"
Sure, as long as you're not caught in the implosion.
As long as you're not the single parent who loses their job because the economy crashes and can no longer bring her sick child for medical care because the ACA was repealed. Or the young woman who dies from a botched back-alley abortion because all the clinics in her state have been forced to close. Or the veteran who has to go back for a fourth and fifth tour because three new wars have been started in the Middle East. Or the poor black woman who's voted in every election since 1952 but can't get the ID she needs to prove that she's a citizen.
Or the kids who are hungry because the union that protected their father's workplace safety was busted and dad was permanently injured by a boss who wanted to increase profits. And whose SNAP benefits and free school lunches have been discontinued to give tax breaks to the corporations and 1%, and can't get any help from the empty shelves at the local food bank.
Or the Muslim/immigrant/transgender person who was beaten by a group of 'good Christians' because they're the cause of all the evil in the world and the bible says so. After all, this IS a Christian nation and don't let any of those foreigners tell you any different, even if their families have been here for four generations.
Sure, let's elect Trump and laugh as we watch him 'upend the system' and Too Bad, So Sad for anyone whose lives are destroyed in the process.
And let's listen to you declare what a Patriotic American you are because you wanted to usher in the Revolution and to hell with anyone who might get hurt along the way.
@ Nefer
DeleteI've met "Bernard" Sanders ( don't be calling him Bernie to his face he has a hissy fit) in 1999, he is the same egotistical asshole he has always been.
Childish? Are you kidding? While Bernie does the childish thing threatening to sue 3 people who made t-shirts he doesn't like?
DeleteLMAO that you think there will ever be a president Trump. You'll be the one crying.
Go back to googling your name Sarah.
Still "write" for Bernie and "vote for Trump" if you don't get your way?
DeleteThis is a problem I have with Bernie fans. I like what he says but he doesn't seem to have reasonable plans to get there. If Hilary doesn't get the nod I'll vote Bernie because either a Trump or a Cruz win would be a disaster.
This is not a time to stomp one's foot and whine about not having the preferred candidate. This is a time to adult and realize that cooperation is the essence of democracy.
@4:35
DeleteWhen you see Senator Sanders on Church Street in Burlington, VT and you want to speak to him, you say "Hey, Bernie".
Bernie has been "Bernie" since his mayoral days. I have never heard him called "Bernard" here in VT.
@ 5:08 pm
DeleteBS, he even makes his own child call him Bernard.
Anonymous3:07 PM
DeleteWhat would Sanders do if he were the nominee? Sue all the rupublicans making fun of him?
I don't see hillary suing over the Trump the bitch shirt.
Delete3:58p
DeleteGeez, fear-monger much? Trust me, it'll be okay, I think you might even like Trump's "new America".
Trump, much like Bernie, does not have the minority vote nor the southern vote, neither can win. But I really don't see much difference between Trump and Comrade Bernie.
Delete"Titty babies"? You my comrade are the whiner. And if I do chose to leave the country I'll go to either Canada or Costa Rica where I own homes. Now go clean the basement before your commandant Mommy kicks you out of her home.
Delete5:08
DeleteBullshit. Even his wife calls him Bernie.
7:42 - here's the proof! Read it and learn about Bernard's early days as a deadbeat dad who makes his out of wedlock son call him "Bernard," and not "Dad." http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/07/bernie-sanders-vermont-119927

DeleteSo go, America, the "new America" won't miss you at all. We want people dedicated to building a new nation. We'll warn the Canuks and Costa Ricans that you are coming, I'm sure they'll welcome you with open arms.
Anonymous8:39 PM,
DeleteYou should help rebuild the nation, since sitting out election after election is what allowed the GOP to take control of it and break it
@ anon 8:39 pm
DeleteSince I have dual citizenship I need no notice to go to Canada and as a property owner and a job creator in Costa Rica I also don't need to give notice. But your Bernie will never be president nor will your boy trump.
You are so right, Ivyfree at 4:43 pm.

We're not even into the punishing, temper-triggering temperatures of summer yet. In all camps, it's sure to get worse before it's over.
ReplyDeleteI love the "Huma Abedin is actually Hillary's Brain" tee-shirts. Why has no one realized yet the Huma has been helping her since her brain stroke?
ReplyDeleteBrain stroke? Are you on drugs or just misinformed?
Delete"Brain stroke"? And you're mocking someone else's mental capacity?
DeleteI'm still rooting for Bernie, but without the desire to bash Hillary. Suggesting that this woman is mentally impaired is laughable. Think back to her day-long session in front of Congress. She was amazing. I'm not supporting her campaign because I don't agree with what she stands for.
DeleteShe's been her assistant for years - for way before that. Hey, Alicia. Bye Felicia.
DeleteNefer, you ALWAYS say the right thing...
DeleteThank you!
This person has a brain stroke fetish and has been harping on in for a while. Pay no attention.
DeleteHlllary had a simple concussion that most adults have at some point. Quit lying or is that lie a talking point from your head Comrade Bernie?
DeleteThe attacks he unjustly receives for being a socialist is very similar to the attacks atheists receive for not being religious. I don't blame him one bit. It is a distortion of his core values. It would be different if they were making fun of his hair, stature, or maybe his age.
ReplyDeleteA Trump T-shirt -Hitler, Mussolini, Generalissimo Franco- would also include Stalin.
Delete2:15 PM:
DeleteI agree. The GOP started comparing him to Mussolini, and the rest of the communists from the git go. Therefore putting that very thought in their constituents minds.
Now this shirt only confirms the thought.
Why do you think it's unjust? I have lived all over the world and Comrade is acceptable in many countries. Maybe Bernie needs to find his shriveled up balls?
Delete4:38
DeleteIn America, "comrade" means communist. Sanders is no communist. If the shirt were accurate, it would have the pictures of the leaders of England, Denmark, Norway, etc. Those are socialist democracies, and Bernie's beliefs mirror those governments not Russia and China's. It's disingenuous.
@ 7:20pm
DeleteNo, even in America the word comrade means friend, pal, etc. The meanings of words in the English language do not change. And in no country does the word comrade mean communist. And it's a freaking T-shirt that Bernie is having a meltdown over, he and his Bros need to get over it. Heck, he just gave the sellers the best advertisement that they could ask for. The lawsuit was a stupid idea by an obviously senile man that cannot make competent decisions.
Anon at 7:20 pm. Bernie's problem is his life choices when a young man. Those choices link him more with the communists of the day than with any modern life in the Scandinavian countries or England or France.
DeleteBeaglemom
I consider this akin to Gryphen being called a Satanist because he is an Atheist.
DeleteBernie is not a Communist. He isn't even a Socialist. He is a Democratic Socialist and I understand why this is a sore point with him.
It's also defamation.
Being asked to leave the commune would be a ton more significant if he had been a member of the commune. He wasn't. He was asked to leave because he was distracting people who were.
ReplyDeleteYes being an asshole is a lot worse than being lazy.

DeleteI love that shirt! Why is he wasting even five minutes on this?
ReplyDeletebecause he has a thinner skin than Trump does. he's going to get creamed in the general.
DeleteHe's sure showing his ugliness of late. Thought it was a nice guy at first, but no longer! He's too old and reactive!
ReplyDeleteMy vote is with Hillary Clinton!
This is a Trump stunt. Trump operatives go for the jugular.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the threat to sue but I can tell you this....my sister (I know, that sounds so phony but it is true)has been out on the road selling for campaigns for many years. She has her own company and a few employees. She says the Democrats are just as bad as the Republicans, when it comes to hawking memorabilia, because they only want people affiliated with a union selling. It irritates her to death because she is a Dem. but they do not give ANY small company a chance unless they are union. She has always said Hillary was one of the worst. Her campaign is very adamant about having what they consider to be the "right qualifications" to sell at her rallies.
ReplyDeleteI think they will probably all threaten a lawsuit at one point or another!
Reporting an imaginary lawsuit based on conjecture: Good one!
DeleteI think not.
DeleteAnd if she didn't people would shit all over her. Can't win for losing with some folks.
Delete3:15pm. I guess it was too hard to comprehend the difference between an opinion and "reporting". I'm sorry! I do not think my opinion is too far fetched when people will go so far as to call the cops on vendors and have them removed just because they don't "belong to a union." I can definitely imagine the next step would be to file suit!
DeleteHave your sister join a union. There is nothing wrong with unions, I love unions.
Delete4:05pm. She would love to join a union. The problem is that she is a very small company just out there trying to make a living for herself. She hires people to help out when the demand is there, which is not all the time. Mostly during election years. If she went union she could not stay in the business because of the demands the union would put on her. It is one of those "stuck between a rock and a hard place" situations. But...her and I agree....unions ARE good! Workers would be in a BAD place without unions!
Delete@ 4:20 pm
DeleteAs a company owner your sister would NOT be eligible to join a union, but her employees would have the right to unionize. And Kudos for the NC for only allowing union vendors that pay a living wage!

DeleteOl' Butthurt Bernie needs to toughen up. This is nothing compared to what the GOP would throw at him.
ReplyDeleteHe's the SANE candidate, though no one's perfect.
DeleteAt least he's not evil.
And he didn't have someone make a slanderous website trying to discredit a woman Bill C abused.
Frankly, 3:44 PM, I equate them ALL the same. Both sides of the coin!
DeleteMaybe the wrong place to post this but President Obama has said that he will veto the unveiling of the 28 missing pages of the 9/11 report? WHY do we not have the right to know? I know why.
They are ALL the same and, no matter how Bernie spews his stuff, this country has reached the point of no return. Think a President can fix it? Revisit basic civics.
@ anon depends on your definition, I think evil is abandoning your child. So you see to me he is evil. Now you may think it's okay to be a deabeat parent and that is your right to think so, though I doubt the majority of voters will share your view.
DeleteI believe the President when he said that its release would endanger Americans around the world. Think about it. He's right.
DeleteAnonymous4:29 PM,
DeleteYou know sometimes you have to give the President the benefit of the doubt that he actually knows better than we do what can and cannot be released publicly. People seem to forget that what he releases to the US public, he releases to the world. There is no firewall at the border when it comes to information (or almost anything else). I for one trust that he has knowledge that we don't with which to make that decision.

ReplyDeleteLMAO!
DeleteThank goodness we have a mature, experienced candidate to vote for: I'm voting for Hillary.
ReplyDeleteTrump and Sanders, two sides of the same coin.
ReplyDelete"Who is Bernie Sanders?"
ReplyDeleteJeopardy 2050 A.D.(c) $10,000 question to the answer "Obscure old curmudgeon who unsuccessfully challenged our nation's 50th president's mother in her own winning precedent-setting White House bid in 2016."
OMG! Sarah and Bristol are going to be US Presidents in the future? lol
Delete"Obscure old curmudgeon" That's too funny. My 95 year old and somewhat forgetful mom calls him "that angry guy from up north who's always yelling" (And she can't wait to vote for Hilary in the primary next week)
DeleteThe Sanders campaign isn't suing because of the depiction of Bernie. They're suing because of the similarity of the word "Bernie" on the shirt to Sanders' campaign logo although Daily Beast didn't report that until the last sentence of the story. Just another disingenuous smear from The Daily Beast, which is owned by Chelsea Clinton's employer.
ReplyDeleteHUH? What depiction?
DeleteDepiction - noun, a representation in image form. Easier words: the suit isn't about that the shirt is "making fun of Bernie". It's that the word "Bernie" on the shirt is a copy of the campaign logo which is trademarked. It's a trademark protection suit. He's got every right to protect his logo. You people are so fucking anti-Sanders the man could inhale and exhale and you'd find some way to smear him for it.
DeleteDid you really think Bernie would never have any bad press against him? You need to get out more.
DeleteOMG - how nutty to bring Chelsea into it as a conspiracy! Some of you Berners are nutty Paulites! Did you buy your gold yet?
DeleteDo you people ever have any proof of the slanderous allegations you post all the time?
DeleteSo, it's basically trademark infringement which most people would uphold as a right under our laws except I guess not for Bernie because he has the audacity to challenge the chosen one.
DeleteI can't wait to see how Bernie will react when they go after him for being a "deadbeat dad." And his lack of meaningful employment for years, and on and on. He should know that he will be run through the wringer if he were to be the nominee. Hillary has already been through the vetting process; Bernie has not. A tee shirt is nothing compared to what is ahead for Bernie.
ReplyDeleteLOL< the Bernie Bots think Bernie is going to take care of them like family but they fail to comprehend he abandoned his own child.
DeleteHe addresses every begging email "Brothers and Sisters". Nobody had to invent the idea.
ReplyDeleteOld man should STFU.
Bernie's not my choice, but he is NOT a communist and this is a deliberate attempt to feed into anti-Bernie feeling. There is plenty to address about him without claiming he's a Communist. (Not that I have anything against Communism except we know it doesn't change anything or help anyone.)
ReplyDeleteHe'll get my vote, if he gets the nod. I won't vote repug.
You do realize tha in many socialist countries the term comrade is used regularly don't you? If not, invest in a few plane tickets.
DeleteWell he wanted attention from republicans. Now he's got it - and can't handle it.
DeleteGood grief. Bernie is really getting more Trump-ish with each passing day. Does he ever wake up in a good mood?
ReplyDeleteBeaglemom
He has always been like this, you and others are just starting to see the real Bernard Sanders.
Deletehttp://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/07/bernie-sanders-vermont-119927 - the best report about the early days in VT for St. Bernard.
DeleteBernie if LibertyManiacs made those shirts in 1988 and gave you a dozen or so FREE t-shirts as a wedding gift, would you have proudly worn it during your honeymoon in the Soviet Union and given some away to your comra, I mean friends?
ReplyDeleteBernie Sanders sees red after criticism about ‘honeymoon’ in Soviet Union
“I’m tired of losing. Good God, look who we’re running against. The number two guy [running for the Democratic nomination] went to the Soviet Union on his honeymoon, and I don't think he ever came back," Graham said before the audience exploded into applause.
Graham was referring to a 1988 trip that Sanders, then the mayor of Burlington, Vermont, took to Yaroslavl in what was then the Soviet Union shortly after he married his wife Jane.
In a taped interview with the mayor of Yaroslavl, Sanders acknowledges that health care and housing appear to be “significantly better” in the US than in the socialist Soviet Union, according to National Review. “However,” he added, “the cost of both services is much, much higher in the United States.”
https://www.rt.com/usa/320098-bernie-sanders-ussr-honeymoon/
Bernie if elected president, would you reduce the price of Healthcare and housing to match Mother Russia?
Is that where you got the idea?
Did Bernie and his newlywed bride Jane depart to Mother Russia the day after he got married. What a romantic.
DeleteThey actually went to Mother Russia on Vermont tax payers dime, much like their folly to the Vatican.
DeleteBTW Housing in Russia is extremely expensive and since the fall of the RSSR so is healthcare.
Deletehttp://www.bloombergview.com/articles/2016-02-11/how-bernie-sanders-spent-his-soviet-honeymoon
DeleteHave you noticed the Republican Party hasn't pushed the Comrade Bernie honeymoon incident yet?
ReplyDeleteThey want Bernie to be the Democratic Presidential Nominee, then watch them wear their Bernie t-shirts.
Well, it's not going to happen.
DeleteI'm still trying to figure out why that is important. What am I missing?
DeleteAnonymous4:59 PM,
DeleteBecause it is a general election and republicans vote. Reuplican voters and many independants will eat this up.
I don't think there's anything wrong with honeymooning in Russia, per say, or with being a socialist. The optics do play into republican's narratives for him, especially combined with his socialism.
DeleteWikipedia - The term comrade is used to mean "friend", "mate", "colleague", or "ally", and derives from the Iberian Romance language term camarada, literally meaning "chamber mate", from Latin camera "chamber" or "room". A political use of the term was inspired by the French Revolution, after which it grew into a form of address between socialists and workers.
ReplyDeleteOkay, Gryph, give the guy a break. I would ask the T-shirt people to quit with the shirt and if that didn't work I would sue, too. He is a Democratic Socialist, not a Communist. It is true though that he has not been vetted yet and if he is the nominee he will be hit with this kind of oppo research crap 24/7, August through November. And then I will have to vote for him. Hope it doesn't come to that.
ReplyDeleteBingo 3:50!
DeleteThe lawsuit is stupid, anyone can make fun of public figures. You boys need to find your balls.
DeleteDon't worry, Bernie won't be on any ballots in November.
DeleteAs was pointed out above, this isn't about defamation, although it is because Bernie is a Democratic Socialist, not a Communist.
DeleteThis is about trademark infringement. They've copied Bernie's campaign logo. Now supposedly in our democratic capitalistic freedom loving society that is a big no-no and subjects you to possible litigation.
If I were Bernie I'd have my lawyers send a cease and desist and if that didn't work I would go ahead and sue. No one gets a free pass to steal from me.
Phone home.

I think its low rent of you Grphyphen to repost this crap. I'd say Senator Sanders has every right to be offended, and suing to stop unauthorized use of his logo is a perfectly legitimate reason to do.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't support racists confederate flag sellers, just because there were only three of them.
The Republicans are expert red baiters, and you're failing for their strategy--disparage Bernie and link him in the public's eye with some of history's most infamous killers.
Shame on you. Lets talk about the issues here. Support Hilary if you like (and I do) but stick to the high ground.
Sarah, on the other hand, has earned any crap you can throw at her.
I agree with you,3:58
Delete"revolution" you BernieBots sure whine alot.
DeleteSorry, but in case you are unaware, the public has the right to make fun of public figures including Bernie. Maybe if you stop wearing those tight pants your balls will descend to where they are supposed to be.
DeleteIs Bernie going to sue Larry David & SNL, too?
DeleteSanders needs to get used to it if he is the nominee. Hillary has been putting up with false narratives for 30 years. Even bernie supporters believe the crap that teh GOP have been putting out.
Delete5:35
Deletereread what I wrote. I said Bernie has a right to be offended.
Sueing for misuse of a logo is legit.
Ghryphen isn't reposting it for the "he,he, isn't this funny?" laugh, he's reposting it as a criticism of Sanders and/or his supporters. It comes off as a cheap shot for Gryphen, who usually does better.
SNL has a non-discrimination policy on mockery--they get a pass from me.

Deleteyah, comments about my genitalia are really insightful and entertaining.
The bad news of a Hillary Clinton presidency...she supports policies that could force my family to pay right around 20% of our AGI in health care over the next 4 years (we are only halfway through April and between health insurance premiums and actual health care cost we have spent more than 3,500 dollars).
ReplyDeleteThe good news of a Hillary Clinton presidency is that she won't get any money out of us in the form of campaign contributions, which will save us some money.
If you are looking for free healthcare you aren't in a position to donate to anyone's campaign.
DeleteBut here is a clue, get a better education and GET A JOB like everyone else.
Most of us pay 100% of our healthcare and you are whining about only getting 80% of it paid for by tax payers?
DeleteThat's okay, those of us tax payers who are paying 80% of your bills will contribute to Hillary.
DeleteBut keep on hoping for more free stuff.
I worked my butt off last year (12-14 days being the norm). I got paid a bonus in employee stock and ended up paying more than all of it in taxes because it bumped me into the next tax bracket. So I more than paid for your 80% healthcare. You're welcome.
Delete6:01pm
DeleteI guess you'll rethink that whole "working so hard" for no gain thing this year? Seriously, now that you know, take a vacation, take more time off, life's way to short to spend it breaking your back for no good reason.
Anonymous8:12 PM,
DeleteThere was a good reason - I get satisfaction out of it. I work in research and was developing a new diagnostic platform. And I am built that way.
I thought Bernie was FOR a proletariat revolution, and he allows and american small business suffer the wrath of mad Bernie's lawyer ..... over a tee shirt?
ReplyDeleteI'm shocked, I tell ya!!!
Hmm, Bernie better get his ass straightened out if he thinks people cannot speak out against him. Did he sleep through the 8 yrs President Obama has been in office. His whining is no better than Cruz'. Buck up or stay in the truck Bernie.

DeleteAre you talking about the font that the word Bernie is printed in? My son's girlfriend has a dog named Bernie. Is that infringement? lol
DeleteThe name Bernie is not a copyright, plenty of people have that legal name. Get over your bern and see reality. Bernie is as petty as tRump.
DeleteThis t-shirt is only the tiniest tip of the iceberg the GOP and the media would clobber Bernie Sanders with if he were to become the Democratic nominee. Just think about it.
DeleteBeaglemom
How sad so many have no clue about U.S. laws regarding copyright, trademark infringement, defamation and fair use.
DeleteProbably the same bozos that download and burn music for free claiming they aren't violating copyright because they're giving it away for free.
Many of the Bernie supporters who post here sure seem touchy. They remind me of Trump supporters.
ReplyDeleteYou should try posting anything pro-Hillary or criticizing Bernie - no matter how mild. The Bernie supporters descend on you like a pack of rabid dogs calling Hillary all kinds of horrible things. It's not just one or two people. It's almost gotten to the level of a mob mentality. I have stopped commenting over there. Very unpleasant.
DeleteBoth the Bernie and the Hillary Camps are so negative that I have moved on to option #3. I find all of you unimaginably distasteful.
DeleteThis entire system needs to change, and there is only one way to do it and there are plenty of us that feel that way.
Goodbye! @8:10. Hope you enjoy your third party. I look forward to its rise to prominence in 30 years or so. For the rest of us mere mortals: Supreme Court.
DeleteMany of those attacking Bernie remind me of Hillary supporters.
DeleteShouldn't we be attacking Trump, Cruz and Kasich instead of eating our own?
Bernie whines as much as Cruz.
ReplyDeleteWow, you Dems that hate Bernie really hate the man with a burning passion, no pun intended. You are certainly not the group of compassionate "liberals" that you are stereotyped as, that's for sure.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/07/bernie-sanders-vermont-119927 #vettingBernie
DeleteI guess we've learned from all the hate for Hillary. And I don't hate Bernie. I am disappointed in him. And I resent the libertarians running his campaign feeling entitled to change the rules of the DNC because the DNC didn't make it easy for the Sanders campaign to coopt the party that they did not help build.
DeleteMaybe they had a discussion on terminating the pregnancy and she decided to keep it? I really don't care, the woman decide to have his baby, perhaps against his wishes so she should stop whining.
Delete@ anon 9:40 pm
DeleteFirst of all, Bernie chose to have sex with his gf ( though I am sure his wife was disappointed) and since he chose to have sex he certainly knew that pregnancy was possible and that at the time of his gf's pregnancy abortion was ILLEGAL in the USA. But like it or not, once the child is born it becomes the responsibility of both parents, or in Bernie's case the responsibility of his gf and the tax payers of Vermont since he was a deadbeat Dad.
Now Bernie certainly could have chosen not to have sex if he didn't want to procreate, but he chose to have sex and he also chose to be an absent and horrid sperm donor.
I agree with you, Anon at 9:37 pm.

He's pulling a Palin. Remember when those t-shirts came out with a "surveyor's symbol" on her face. They took it off online sales after the thin-skinned one whined and complained how victimized she was.
ReplyDelete10,000 times worse is done to the president every day and you don't see him sending his lawyers after people. He's too presidential to pay attention to the small stuff! Oh, but not Bernie, not Sarah and not the Donald.
Look at the t-shirt with the six heads on it.

Hey he has a right to threaten or pursue lawsuit as anyone else. Defamation is a very serious charge. Ass clowns that like to make up shit just might get sued. Senator Sanders has a fairly simple honest lifestyle. He does not appear to be dishonest. He is not a communist nor socialist. He is a true Independent unlike the fake cling on scabs and ticks that registered Independent to piss off the r's and d's........and who the heck owns the "electronic voting machines these days? I have not found one person in my daily walk in life that will admit to voting for prez rump. Who is voting for that guy?
ReplyDeleteHe is a socialist. A democratic socialist. Said so himself. Doesn't mean he's a communist.
DeleteSo perhaps Hillary should be suing for all the made up sh!t be said and sold about her?
DeleteBernie Sanders stands for the little guy. Unless they disagree with him. Then he stands on them.
ReplyDeleteBernie Sanders isn’t Democrat: That’s a real problem when he needs Dems for his “revolution”. Bernie Sanders, a past critic of the superdelegate system, is now depending on it to win.

Bernie Sanders has no chance of winning, but he will still take your $27 and do his best to destroy the Democratic Party. It's time for you to play the Progressive Hero and throw your support to Hillary & the Democrats. Thank you!

DeleteAnyone dumb enough to donate money to political campaigns, deserves their money taken and spent however the candidate feels appropriate? You all do know that campaign donations or PAC donations, any and all of those political donations aren't tax deductible, right?
DeleteHaving come off a rather unpleasant tax year, believe you me I'd give 30 grand a year to political causes if I could write it off, unfortunately I can't and I really don't understand why anyone would. It's throwing money down a toilet. I need "tit for tat" and political donations don't give me that.
I'm not rich enough to influence a politician with my money, and really anyone who can't start a SuperPAC with millions can't influence that politician so why bother with a fast food lunch donation of $27? Makes ZERO sense financially.
There are lots of valid reasons to make well thought-out political contributions. I make mine to specific campaigns if I really support the candidate. I also support the political party of my choice at the national and state level. We should all be involved. It's not a matter of donating a lot of money but it's important, as they say, to "put your money where your mouth is," but do it responsibly. If all of us ordinary people cease making political contributions then the corporations will always own the political agenda. And that's wrong and dangerous.

My vote is not based on gender, race, party, religion or entitlement.
ReplyDeleteWho are Senator Sanders voters? Young, in college, bright, and Boomers, educated, uneducated common sense, fair minded, women, men of All races, religion. I like the sound the President Sanders. vs the pris rump or Canada ted. I too would like to witness the first female president of the USA. Senator Clinton is deserving and qualified. She has worked hard her entire life for her causes. She was a protester too I believe in her college years. We do know that the Azzclown obstructionist will continue their hateful agenda and crazy freaken radicals talkin and throwing chit. Time for them chumps to grow up and behave.

Accounting Error: Bernie's Growing Troubles with Illegal and Foreign Contributions
Bernie Sanders likes to sell himself as the panacea of campaign finance reforms. He rails all day against the horrific Citizens United decision of the Supreme Court.
It turns out, however, he may just be protesting a little too much. In February, the Federal Election Commission sent the Sanders campaign two letters breaking down the campaign's possible illegal and foreign contributions. Both letters - one addressing the campaign's quarterly report for the quarter ending in December and another addressing the campaign's January report point out two overriding themes in Sanders' campaign finance trouble besides for the fact that they don't seem to be able to add (in both letters, FEC noted the Sanders' campaign's problem balancing the ledger): illegal over-contributions and donations from foreign addresses not properly accounted for to confirm their US citizenship....
Since October of 2015 to the end of January, the FEC counted a total of 665 potentially illegal foreign donations to the Sanders campaign, and hundreds of donors who have exceeded their contribution limits. The FEC noted more foreign contributions in just the month of January than in the previous three months combined, and has flagged over 3,500 contributions as over-limit. Through the end of December alone, the Sanders campaign had collected more than $23 million in donations without sourcing them or certifying that those came from donors whose aggregate total giving is below $200.
For someone so interested about campaign - and even non-campaign - contributions to other candidates, the American people deserve to know where Sanders' money is coming from. And no, Bernie's signature, dismissive diatribe of "our money comes from people giving $27" is just not cutting it anymore....
Right now, there remains at least $23 million - nearly a quarter of Bernie's total haul as of last reporting - completely unaccounted for. Right now, there are nearly 700 contributions from people who, for all the FEC knows, could be foreign nationals. And the FEC continues to find new problems with every report....
It is a fair question to ask whether a candidate presiding over a campaign getting consecutive FEC notices with threats of audits can be entrusted with the United States Treasury.
Democratic voters deserve answers. The American people deserve answers.

ReplyDeleteBernie Sanders Is Raising Money Hand Over Fist — And Spending It The Same Way
WASHINGTON — The small-donor machine built by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has raised by far the most money of any candidate in the presidential race this year. The only problem: He’s spending the most by far, too.
Sanders raised $46 million from more than 900,000 donors in March, and spent the same amount, according to a Federal Election Commission disclosure report filed Wednesday. Hillary Clinton, the leader in votes and delegates for the Democratic presidential nomination, raised $29.3 million in March and spent $32 million.
“Bernie’s grassroots campaign has now out-raised Secretary Hillary Clinton for three months straight,” Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ campaign manager, said in a statement.
The Clinton campaign ended March with $29 million in cash on hand, compared with Sanders’ $17 million.

ReplyDeleteNBC News:
NEW YORK - Bernie Sanders is at a crossroads.
The Vermont senator took Wednesday off the campaign trail at home alone with his wife, leaving his top aides behind in Washington to cool their heels.
"He wanted an opportunity to think," said Sanders senior strategist Tad Devine. "It's affording him an opportunity to think about where we are in the campaign, what he wants to say in the weeks ahead. He hasn't had a real chance to do that" in weeks.
... The Sanders campaign poured itself into New York, throwing a hail mary pass to try to change the delegate math while they could. They spent $5.6 million (twice what Hillary Clinton did), made 3 million phone calls in the final weekend alone, and organized the biggest rallies of a campaign defined by big rallies.
But in the end Sanders came up short - not just of winning, but of the delegate target allies had aimed to hit, which might set them up for a path through California, the campaign's final hope.
Now, with the nomination even further out of reach, Sanders faces the difficult question about what comes next. Does he set a do-whatever-it-takes course to actually win the Democratic nomination? Or does he return to the message campaign his long-shot White House bid was originally seen as? ....
Clinton's favorability rating has tumbled during the primary, especially among Sanders voters, presumably at least in part due to his attacks....

The Vermont Senator probably went home for his warm milk, cookies and more adult diapers.
DeleteOh this is rich, especially since you Hillary supporters do nothing but denigrate us Bernie supporters and then say things like 6:22am.
DeleteHow is this suppose to make us feel all warm and fuzzy towards Hillary and move our support to her?
I've never been more maligned by more people regarding my choice of candidate, and that even includes when I supported Barack Obama in 2008. The Shrillary crowd knew they were bested in 2008 and their attacks towards Obama supporters were a bit less rabid than they are this year towards Bernie supporters.
There is 'nothing' warm and fuzzy about Bernie Sanders either, 8:24 AM. He's angry, quickly reactive and a nasty old man. He is NOT qualified to be POTUS!
DeleteI would love to support Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren. They would be the dynamic duo!

ReplyDeleteDaily Show’s Trevor Noah Mocks ‘Paranoid’ Bernie Sanders Over New York Primary Excuses
Trevor Noah dove deep into this week’s New York primary on The Daily Show Wednesday night. And to start things off, he examined what he perceived to be “paranoia” in the Bernie Sanders camp.
“You know what many people love about Bernie Sanders?” Noah asked. “His blunt honesty. Yeah, he speaks his mind. Although, you have to admit, sometimes he comes off a little paranoid. In moments, he sounds like a senior citizen who doesn’t trust his Jamaican nurse.” From there, he did his impression of the exasperated senator: “She’s laughing at me. She thinks I don’t know, but she’s stealing by goddamn Snickers! Something’s going on."....

With the battle essentially lost, what exactly does Bernie Sanders want?
Jazz Shaw, 4 hours ago
After Tuesday’s battle on his home turf went sour, Bernie simply isn’t going to win enough delegates outright to seize his new party’s nomination and the superdelegates just don’t like him. And yet he persists in his increasingly quixotic quest, which brings us to the question of the day:
What does Bernie Sanders want?...
Hillary Clinton’s victory in the New York primary Tuesday has brought Sen. Bernie Sanders one step closer to a series of difficult decisions that can be summed up in one simple question: What does Bernie want?...
His staffers will be unemployed if the campaign folds and his nearest and dearest may still believe in unicorns and rainbows to a sufficient degree as to think that it will all still somehow come together. But while Bernie is many things, I don’t think he’s stupid. He won’t speak the words, but he’s got to know that he’s failed. So what else could it be?
In the old days, failing candidates with sufficient power would negotiate for some bauble like a prime speaking slot at the convention in Philadelphia. But what would Bernie say that he hasn’t already said a thousand times on the campaign trail? People would applaud politely (providing he was willing to endorse Hillary and ask his followers to vote for her) but then the spotlight would shut off and it would be Hillary’s show. That doesn’t sound like what he’s after.
Another popular demand for such candidates is a prime spot in the new administration. Veep? A cabinet position? He’s too old and too white for the former. It’s not as if he’s positioning himself for a run in 2024. (He’ll be well into his 80s by then.) And what cabinet position would offer him the platform he now enjoys?
I suppose it could be a promise from Hillary that she would prioritize and pursue some favored piece of legislation from his agenda, but what does that get him? Hillary has already promised everything to everyone by this point, knowing full well that most of it is vaporware. That’s not much of a trade.
No, if I had to guess, I’d say that Bernie is even more crafty than we’ve given him credit for. He may want to fight this thing out until the last dog is hung just to keep his name front and center for the delegates and their voter base. Why? Because he still suspects that the FBI may disqualify Clinton with a set of steel bracelets, and at that point he might be the only alternative which the voters would accept.
That’s probably a miscalculation on his part because I still think they could send an invitation to Joe Biden if Hillary collapses and the entire party would be Ready For Joe in a New York minute. But this is likely Bernie’s last hurrah and he he may as well shoot for the stars.
