Bill Nye brilliantly calls climate science denier's bluff.

Courtesy of Raw Story:

Late last year, Bastardi accused Nye of taking on “increasingly shrill tones” regarding climate change since the two debated the issue on Fox News in 2010.

He also accused Nye of trying to “isolate, demonize and destroy” anyone who disagreed with him, comparing him to Saul Alinsky, the community organizer who is a preferred target for conservatives. Bastardi challenged Nye to explain what he called the lack of a connection between global temperatures and carbon dioxide levels, as well as a decline in temperatures following an El Niño weather event in 2006-2007.

Finally, he dared Nye to give his own forecast for global temperatures by 2020.

This was Nye's response. And it's a good one.

Essentially he is calling this Bastardi (What an unfortunate name.) guy out, and using a $10,000 (I'm sorry, $20,000) bet to drive that point home.

Of course the problem with this is that these climate change deniers do not trust traditional scientific data on the climate, and will instead offer their own "facts" to refute any findings that prove them wrong.

However for the public at large this will show Bastardi and his ilk are selling snake oil to their followers, and when called out publicly will dodge and weave in order to avoid admitting they are full of shit.

I love Bill Nye! It is so great to see a real scientist present facts in such an entertaining way.

I wish Bill Nye would publicly, vocally, loudly! challenge Sarah Palin to a debate; one on one. No one else, just the two of them. Think she'd accept? If it was widely reported that Bill Nye challenged Palin to debate global climate change, and she ignored him...well, that would be quite interesting considering the several times recently she's mentioned him in her Shouty Book Page 'posts.'

She might, but who would she have to have "snowmobiled" to get out of it?

"I wish Bill Nye would publicly, vocally, loudly! challenge The Screechy Wretch(tm) to a debate"

No. Like the old saying goes "the mighty eagle does not hunt the genital crab".

Palin's pop, the 5th grade science guy was a big failure. Can't say I am not glad the way Sarah is bringing attention to Nye and the climate matters. She looks like a yuuuge loser among her many loser cronies and family.

    She comes from bad stock.

They think they are athletes and into sports.

Heh Nancy, how long until Bristol can get out of her warmed over death bed to defend the indefensible? Oh! Almost forgot, Bristol is a master hiker now.

It sounds like Chuckles Sr's idea of teaching science was bringing in dead animals for the kids to look at.

The only thing wrong with the name Bastardi is that the exclamation point is upside down.

Oh, what a wonderful name for Sara Palin's next grandchild!

  8. Anonymous8:46 AM

Bill Nye, the science guy! Sarah Palin the menopausal dried up hag and phobic followers. Which will the world back? It's almost a contest to see if there are more smarts versus stupid. I am betting the latter. Geez!
