Things are looking good for Hillary Clinton in 2016.

To be fair we know that Trump is going to throw everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, at Hillary Clinton in the run up to the November election.

I am fully prepared to hear about Monica Lewinski, email-gate, Benghazi, Hillary's support for trade deals, the Clinton Foundation, speech transcripts, and just about anything else you can imagine.

However I am pretty confident that most of that has been tried and it failed to make a dent, so yes this map might be quite reflective of what we can expect to see when the votes are all tallied.

And that my friends is good news indeed.

Trump better attach a chin strap to his orange hair piece and keep his tiny fingers inside the car at all times until the ride comes to a full stop; it's going to be a wild ride to November.

It's such a nasty, dismissive comment to say that a candidate is "anointed." It's what Republicans said about Obama. It's just another excuse for losing because fewer people voted for you. You would think an adult like Jane Sanders could rise above this petty bullshit.

Hillary Clinton has had to work hard for everything, including having to fight against these kinds of comments.

  16. That map has my state of FL going for HRC and I can buy that. I can also tell you Bernie Sanders would have zero chance of winning Florida over Trump (for sure).

Florida's a weird state - the north is The South, the south is North Cuba and South New York, and the middle is ... Disney! The Oldies (and I love them!) are for the most part feisty and vibrant and do not want oil drilling anywhere on or off our shore, but they also do not want their taxes raised for, well, anything. And that's just one example of the powerful dichotomies here.

A certain Senator Marco Rubio would have been wise to have listened to his own constituents over his party, but he did not (Lord knows I emailed him often enough and I know significant numbers of others who did too).

Hillary would do well here (FL) to push sensible immigration reform, protecting the environment, championing federal programs to help local coastal communities (and other designated flood-prone areas) to protect their property owners from the effects of global warming, promoting tourism by increasing access to public transportation, man, there's a lot that could be done.

I can't see Trump (or his campaign) even understanding this state or the people in it enough to formulate an intelligent strategy to win our votes. It'll be all "Crooked Hillary" and "Benghazi" and "Emails" and if HRC pushes substance, substance will win Florida.

A Brief Statement of the Obvious
...It comes down to a simple issue of the 19th Amendment: women can vote! And in addition to being able to vote, there are slightly more women than men and they actually vote a bit more. But it really comes down to: women can vote!

In electoral terms, the dynamics of gender and race are different in various ways. But they're pretty similar in this way. If you are thematically invoking racial or gender stereotypes without doing so openly or explicitly you can mobilize societal prejudice in your favor - what we sometimes generically call 'dog-whistling'. But if you're attacking your opponent as a women - and yes, attacking her as only doing well because she's a woman or 'playing the woman card' - that's not a gender war. It's a gender massacre and you're the one being massacred.

What's more, it's contagious. Trump's rhetoric is normalizing the public invocation of increasingly vulgar and rancid attacks on Clinton. A top Republican official in Florida is quoted in the Post this morning confidently predicting that "I think when Donald Trump debates Hillary Clinton she’s going to go down like Monica Lewinsky."

    http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/a-brief-statement-of-the-obvious

I don't want to be Pollyannaish about this. This is ugly stuff and it's going to bring a lot of ugliness to the surface, just as Trump's playing to white identity politics has in the primaries. But the numbers tell the story pretty clearly. If you are planning to fight a campaign explicitly on gender divisiveness, in this day and age and as long as the 19th Amendment isn't repealed this summer (Republican Congress, who knows?) you're toast.

Donald Trump’s Problems With Women Voters Are Worse Than You Think
When it comes to Donald Trump’s women problems, the top-line polling numbers are just the tip of the iceberg.

The real estate mogul's sexist rhetoric coupled with his clumsy posturing on policy issues that already hamstrung Republicans with female voters have exacerbated a gender gap that helped President Obama defeat Mitt Romney in 2012.

It’s no secret that Trump -- whose latest antagonization was his insistence Tuesday night that Hillary Clinton was relying on the “woman card” -- is turning off women in huge numbers. But Trump is not just angering the women who were maybe leaning Democratic anyway.

Current polling shows Trump is turning off the subset of women voters who are typically up for grabs in elections and who in other cycles have swung races towards Republicans. He is even alienating the type of dependable Republican female voters who turned out for Romney the last time around. To make matters worse for him, Trump’s deficit among women are blunting some of the vulnerabilities Clinton would be facing if pitted against a less controversial Republican.

The gender gap in a Trump v. Clinton match-up is different from the gender gap in previous elections, according to Margie Omero, a Democratic pollster and co-host of the podcast “The Pollsters.”

"Sometimes when you look at overall what’s happening, people will say, 'Well women think this and men think this,' and sometimes it’s because of party rather than because of gender,” Omero told TPM. "When it comes to Trump it’s actually both. He’s got a gender problem even within his own party."

For decades, women have made up a majority of the electorate. Elections have featured a consistent gender gap where men lean Republican and women Democrat. Republicans can only be successful when their advantage among men is greater than their deficit among women.

Trump’s deficit among women is enormous and getting worse. Per Gallup’s tracking, 70 percent of women view him unfavorably, up from 58 percent last July....

Madeleine Albright Unleashes Blistering Attack On Trump After His Foreign Policy Speech (TWEETS)

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has never been the type of person to hold back when she sees stupidity, and Donald Trump just felt the burn of her disapproval.

On Wednesday, the Republican frontrunner attempted to appear “presidential” by laying out his foreign policy “plans.” The speech was just like him, full of emptiness and bullshit. He attacked President Obama’s foreign policy again and again, painting him as weak on terrorism and blaming him for the problems in the Middle East. Surprisingly, however, the marmalade-tinted imbecile didn’t talk about his Great Wall of ‘Murica at all. Later that evening, though, former Secretary Albright laid into the billionaire on Twitter.

She said that she was posting on the social media site because it is Trump’s “favourite method of communication” and then promptly destroyed his policies:

There are a lot of low information voters out there. We need to GOTV and encourage everyone we know to vote - and to vote downbticket as well. That may be more important because the 2018 election is not in the Democrat's favor.

If you plan to vote for a Republican this year, please consider eating glass instead. Between assaults at Trump rallies, lies about Planned Parenthood and debates about penis size, haven’t we all had enough? After all, the worst thing that happened on the Democratic side this year was when Bernie Sanders told Hillary Clinton to stay off his lawn.

Seventeen clowns ran for the Republican nomination and although we are down to three, they all keep coming back. Chris Christie and Ben Carson went away and Trump brought them back. Carly Fiorina went away and Ted Cruz brought her back. John Kasich went away and… No. Wait. Why hasn’t John Kasich gone away?

Kasich thinks he is getting the nomination. Ted convinced Carly that they already have the nomination. And Trump cemented the nomination while talking about our embassy in Tanzayneeah. I can only assume that is a country in the made-up world currently occupied by the Republican candidates. After all, Trump’s Tanzayneeah is as real as the country Cruz plans to rule with Carly and almost as real as whatever world Kasich lives in.

And while all that is playing out, a former United States Speaker of the House has been convicted of a financial cover-up to conceal years of child molestation.
