Before his death former Republican Senator wanted to apologize to the Muslim community for Donald Trump.

Courtesy of the Daily Beast:

Between the hectic helter-skelter of nurses, doctors, and well wishes from a long-cultivated community of friends and former aides, Bennett faced a quiet moment with his son Jim and his wife Joyce.

It was not a moment for self-pity.

Instead, with a slight slurring in his words, Bennett drew them close to express a dying wish: “Are there any Muslims in the hospital?” he asked.

“I’d love to go up to every single one of them to thank them for being in this country, and apologize to them on behalf of the Republican Party for Donald Trump,” Bennett told his wife and son, both of whom relayed this story to The Daily Beast.

The rise of Donald Trump had appalled the three-term Utah senator, a Republican who fell victim to the tea-party wave of the 2010 midterms. His vote for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, or TARP, had alienated many conservative activists in his state, who chose lawyer Mike Lee as the GOP nominee for Senate instead.

But as Bennett reflected on his life and legacy in mid-April, following the stroke, he wasn’t focused on the race that ended his political career. Instead, he brought up the issue of Muslims in America—over and over again.

Mike Lee, by the way was another Teabagger endorsed and promoted by Sarah Palin.

I wonder just how many Republicans will want to apologize for Donald Trump on their death beds?

Probably not as many as should.

Many of the full nutter Republicans don't plan on ever being on their death bed.

They are doing everything they can to ring on the end times so that they can be raptured. They believe that they and their chosen few will live forever according to the bible.

If they leave a hell on earth they think it is ok- as only the unchosen will be left behind at the time of the rapture.

I wish I was joking- but it is the truth.

    1. I'm pretty sure that I will be on the non-rapture list, but that is definitely okay by me. It will be good to have the raptured people leave and the world will be a far better place. I don't believe in the "end times" but if we could ensure that only those who do believe go, then I'm all for it!

I can't help but wonder if John McCain, when on his death bed, will apologize to America for putting Sarah Palin on his ticket? Don't you think it should be forthcoming? I sure do!

  5. No person on their deathbed, glancing back and listing their regrets ever said "I wish I'd spent more time arguing politics." Something worth remembering, I think, whether we're left or right.

It's deep spring now in Northern Neck Virginia, ours trees since flowered and gone green. I can look out the back door any daylight hour to catch bouncing robins on alert for an incautious worm. The pollen is here. Blessedly, even at my age, I'm waking up most days with penetration-worthy wood. Life isn't all terrible.

I know I'm voting for Hillary; only multiple, direct hits of lightning to the forehead could make me do otherwise. Thus, perhaps I shall not make a point to read every daily new outrage of Mr. Trump's when there is still some peace and joy to wrest if you seek it. I suspect Mr. Bennett, may he rest in peace, would approve my point.

" “She’s very upset with the show reaction, and in hindsight with how it was produced,” one Fox veteran told me…"
That is called "TAKING IT UP THE ASS"
She is a stupid blond or maybe she is just a real "dirty girl".

Not to take away from his deathbed awakening to the good in all humanity, but wouldn't it have been nice if he said this before, when he still had his health and maybe be an example to other GOP xenophobes?
RIP Mr Bennett, you're a good man.

Interesting how they always are sorry on their deathbed, too bad it doesn't happening earlier.
