Evangelical preacher John Hagee warns his followers that God "will not hold them harmless" if they do not vote for Donald Trump.

Courtesy of Right Wing Watch:

After mangling Dietrich Bonhoeffer's famous "not to speak is to speak" quote and falsely attributing it to Martin Niemöller, Hagee informed his viewing audience that "God will not hold us harmless" and so they have an obligation to vote.

"I'm going to vote for the candidate that's going to make the U.S. military great again," he said. "I'm going to vote for the party that is going to solve the immigration problem, not the one that has created the immigration problem. I'm going to support the party that brings jobs back from China ... I'm not going to vote for the party that has betrayed Israel for the past seven years."

"If you can read a newspaper, you know who I'm talking about," Hagee said. "No candidate is perfect, but I want you to go vote and may God give us a leader who has the courage to put America first and stand up for we the people."

You know I have been watching these televangelists for years, ever since the glory days of Jerry Falwell, Jimmy Swaggert, and Jim and Tammy Bakker.

And I have to say that their level of hypocrisy has never failed to take my breath away.
Trump with Jerry Falwell Jr. at Liberty University

But damn they are really outdoing themselves this time around.

They refused to accept John McCain back in 2008 until he saddled himself with Caribou Barbie, but they are completely willing to accept this twice divorced, biblically ignorant, almighty dollar worshiper without even breaking a sweat.

You know, it's almost like they were completely full of shit all along.

the IRS needs to take away the tax-exemption for all these "churches" interfering in politics.

Trump can't bring any jobs back from China, that is up to the CEO's of the companies that are unwilling to support the American work force and feel their profits are more important than decent wages for workers.

Besides who is going to make the Trump line of clothing?

That wall Trump is going to build... a "virtual" wall not a literalone. Seems one of his spot spilled the beans toady and there won'the be buses heading to the border. The plan is to treat them like indentured servants, in one room get your "papers", out and go forth. They'll be kept track of as well, just like serfs, and never be citizens with no representation even though they I'll pay taxes .

I feel exactly the same way, IM! It seems all I do is shake my head in amazement at the disparities in the teachings of the religious!

Jerry Prevo, of Anchorage, has also come out in support of Trump!

Trump being an ego driven boy/man who has been married multiple times, had affairs, is all about looks and visual, sexy appearances, uses sex and promotes it, is totally driven by money and a man whom they would normally put in the category of a huge sinner that needs major religious teaching and change as to his life directions!

Then to read the above minister promoting more war and the need to increase our military! Why? Does he think the USA needs to conquer the world and rule it?

So sad the ignorant follow these idiots like sheep. They are exactly why I'm an atheist!

Heinlein's Fosterites from Stranger in Strange Land.

McCain had to disavow Hagee's endorsement in '08 because of Hagee's extreme End Times preaching that Hitler was a hunter sent by gawdalmighty to kill Jews and force them to Palestine as part of the End Times scenario he pushes.

In '16, not so much need for disavowing such views as they are a core part of the whole theocratic-political creature they've been working to create these last several decades.

If God wants Drumpf to be president, God can make it happen, no voting is necessary. Isn't God all powerful? Humans don't need to intervene in God's business. To do so is to admit that God isn't a capable deity.

Tad Devine, a senior adviser to Mr. Sanders, said the campaign did not think its attacks would help Mr. Trump in the long run, but added that the senator's team was "not thinking about" the possibility that they could help derail Mrs. Clinton from becoming the first woman elected president.

"The only thing that matters is what happens between now and June 14," Mr. Devine said, referring to the final Democratic primary, in the District of Columbia. "We have to put the blinders on and focus on the best case to make in the upcoming states."

The GOP-led House on Thursday morning voted to bar the Confederate battle flag from flying over some federal graveyards, with Speaker Paul Ryan and his top lieutenants joining Democrats to approve the measure despite most Republicans voting against it.

Lawmakers voted 265-159 on a Democratic amendment offered by Rep. Jared Huffman (D-Calif.) that would bar the Civil War symbol from being flown at cemeteries run by the Department of Veterans Affairs. It was the first time the House has cast a ballot on the divisive issue.

Trump needs to know they did not ban the Mexican flag.

Never fail to set the record straight when politics comes into the conversation. I did just that this morning when a woman I passed while walking the park commented about the weather (chilly for the Mid Atlantic area), stating "so much for global warming". I replied, "You don't believe pollution is real?".

As the conversation progressed, it wasn't long before she realized her arguments were BS. When solar energy came up, she said "out Wes"t they were cutting down forests to install the panels. I told her there literally were few forests "out West", and that actually "out West" was an area ideal for solar technology.

I remained calm, looked her directly in the eyes, and felt good knowing the facts and reality were on my side.

Rachel Maddow Tells Democrats To Chill: The End Of The Primary Is Always Messy

Rachel Maddow reminded Democrats that the party is not divided. This is how primaries operate, and at the end, they get messy. There is nothing unusual about the way the 2016 Democratic primary is ending.

Maddow said, “At this point in the primary process, it’s always like this. There is always acrimony and upset between remaining candidates at this part of the race. Parties just do this. It is to be expected. It’s very, very, very rarely fatal.”

It is important to note that what is happening between Clinton and Sanders right now is completely normal. Sanders is going through the process of realizing that he is not going to be the Democratic nominee. Feelings are hurt, and bitterness has been on full display. Meanwhile, the Clinton people and the Democratic Party want Sanders to get on with it because they want to turn all of their attention towards Donald Trump.

Maddow later added, “So there’s a lot going on right now. Pick your poison. The Democratic Party have a lot of real fish to fry right now. They’ve got real things to work on. They’ve got a primary that’s still happening. They’ve got disputes still to settle, but this idea that the Sanders and Clinton split will be fatal, or even that a Sanders protest movement would be catastrophic for the party if one emerges, we know from history that that’s just what it feels like at this point in the process. And the acrimony is real, the tensions are real. The anxiety over it is real in the Democratic Party and on the center left. But, you know what? It’s kind of what primaries are for. It’s why they take this long. That’s what it’s supposed to feel at this point in the process. This isn’t a bug in the system this year. This is just the system.”

Nothing that is happening on the Democratic side is new. The situation was much more tense in 2008 when the Clinton campaign fought Barack Obama until the end of the primary. Clinton was hearing the same calls from Democrats in 2008 that Sanders hears today. Clinton supporters were promising never to vote for Obama, and claiming that the process was rigged...

Woman Who Worked For Trump Warns “He HAS To Be Stopped” (VIDEO)

Res, who oversaw the construction of Trump Tower and now supports Hillary Clinton, explained to Hayes that Trump “will put our country back thirty years” and “will be bad for our country.”

She added, “I don’t think he has the experience to be president, or the political knowledge to be president.” Res also said Trump’s policies are “very backward, very anti-woman, very anti-woman” and very “anti-progress.”

She served as an executive vice-president with the Trump Organization from 1984-1991, and wrote a book a few years ago about her experiences, All Alone on the 68th Floor: How One Woman Changed the Face of Construction.

She also recently spoke to the New York Times about the danger she sees in Trump’s candidacy.

“The vetting of Sarah Palin was no less rigorous, just compressed. She was a late addition to the short list, catapulted into contention by the campaign's calculus that a woman would broaden the ticket's appeal,” Culvahouse wrote. “Our team of lawyers churned out the expected detailed written vetting report — only we packed eight weeks of research into less than one.”

Trump has said he would announce his campaign partner during the GOP convention in Cleveland, July 18-21, and that he has a short list of five or six candidates.

Here’s why people don’t take right-wing Evangelicals so seriously anymore

And thanks to the fact that American Evangelical leaders sold their congregations to the Republican Party in exchange for political power, Evangelical Christianity is now distinctive—and widely despised.

Another way to put this is that the Evangelical “brand” has gone from being an asset to a liability, and it is helpful to understand the transition in precisely those terms.

Trump just accused Bill Clinton of ‘rape.’ Expect a lot more of this — from the whole GOP.

Donald Trump went there last night on Fox News, accusing Bill Clinton of “rape.” In an exchange between Trump and Sean Hannity, the Fox host railed against recent media coverage of Trump’s treatment of women, asking whether women who have accused Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct would also be interviewed. And then this transpired:

“In one case, it’s about exposure. In another case, it’s about groping and fondling and touching against a woman’s will,” Hannity said.

    “And rape,” Trump responded.

Whenever Trump says this kind of thing — for instance, when he says he will be attacking Hillary Clinton for enabling Bill Clinton’s womanizing — a great burst of hand-wringing and gnashing of teeth pours forth from Democrats who fear that Trump’s “unconventional” and “unpredictable” attacks could prove difficult to fend off.

But let’s be clear on one thing: Dredging up Bill Clinton’s 1990s conduct is unlikely to be the exclusive handiwork of Trump and his supposedly unconventional and unpredictable tactics. It’s likely that this stuff will play a key role in the GOP’s party-wide attacks on Clinton, too.

GOP Congressman: The Relentless Investigation Into Planned Parenthood Is A Waste Of Time And Money

...Defending his vote on Facebook, Jolly said that the committee is an unnecessary use of millions of taxpayer dollars and of Congress’ time.

“The truth is, we already have had three panels look into the matter and we don’t need a fourth. We’re either a party of less government or not,” he said.

The Select Panel on Infant Lives, named by the conservative lawmakers who initially formed it, was convened following allegations made last summer by the Center for Medical Progress’ widely-debunked sting videos.

  26. There is faith, and then there is the business of religion. I know many people of faith I respect and admire Although I do not share their belief in God, we have much in common. And then there's folks involved in the business of religion for profit and control. They are ready to take your money, instill fear in you, and set you on their path to accomplish their political objectives. They are different from ISIS only in their methods of persuasion and enforcement of their doctrines. In must take a particular kind of individual to stand before a congregation to preach to them, lecture to them, ask for their money, and then judge them. What a power trip that must be to be a spokesman for God. They mean nothing to me. They are what they are just as a snake is a snake or an insect an insect. The real problem I have is their followers who willingly give themselves over to these people. I accept it, but I do not understand
why. I get the socialization aspect, being around like minded people, I just don't understand the need to be lead and controlled. As far as shock and disbelief, nothing when it comes to religion surprises me. The only hope I hold on to is that more and more people will reject organized religion for a personal and deeper faith either as a believer or a humanist.
