The sister of Vince Foster slams Donald Trump for insinuating that the Clintons had anything to do with her brother's death.

Courtesy of the Washington Post:

Donald Trump appears intent on dredging up every last bit of every Clinton controversy, including the 1993 death of the Clintons’ close personal friend, White House deputy counsel Vincent W. Foster Jr.

Foster “had intimate knowledge of what was going on,” Trump told The Washington Post. “He knew everything that was going on, and then all of a sudden he committed suicide.” The presumptive GOP presidential nominee said, “I don’t know enough to really discuss it” but “I will say there are people who continue to bring it up because they think it was absolutely a murder.”

Yes, there is a fringe minority of people who will believe in just about every conspiracy theory. There are hacks who believe that Foster died in the White House and that his body was moved. There was even a member of Congress who fired bullets into a cantaloupe (or was it a watermelon?) in an effort to prove that Foster was killed.

But there were also five official investigations into Foster’s death, conducted by professional investigators, forensic experts, psychologists, doctors and independent prosecutors with unlimited resources.

The idea that Trump would bring up this moldy old Right Wing conspiracy theory is laughable on its face, unless of course you have a familial connection to the deceased.

Courtesy of The Hill:

Sheila Foster Anthony, the sister of a onetime top aide to President Bill Clinton, wrote an opinion piece published Thursday in The Washington Post titled, "Vince Foster was my brother. Donald Trump should be ashamed."

Anthony said insinuating that Hillary Clinton played a role in her brother's death was "wrong" and "irresponsible."

"This is scurrilous enough coming from right-wing political operatives who have peddled conspiracy theories about Vince’s death for more than two decades," Anthony wrote.

"How could this be coming from the presumptive Republican nominee for president?"

She said the suggestions that her brother was murdered have caused her family "untold pain." But she has never spoken publicly about the incident to maintain their privacy, she wrote.

"For Trump to raise these theories again for political advantage is wrong," she wrote.

"I cannot let such craven behavior pass without a response."

There is no longer a queston as to how low Donald Trump can go.

Essentially for Trump there is no bottom.

Mr. Trump has no threshold of decency. He has none at all. Every day we get to read him talking about some old issue with the Clinton -- something he says he would not bring up because he doesn't know enough. That is always followed by something along the lines of "but others do bring it up and think blah blah blah" Of course in the process he HAS brought it up and spent time discussing it. Isn't there some way to make him SHUT the F UP? He is despicable and beneath contempt. That he is going to be the Republican nominee for our highest office is just plain incomprehensible to me. What has our country come to?

He just keeps going lower. Yesterday he was in North Dakota and had no grasp of the kind of land he was visiting and he just kept on with his Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas" joke. And when a Native American journalist, a female to boot, said that he was being offensive, what did he do? He smirked and laughed her off as if she were an idiot and what he had said was perfectly acceptable and no one had any right to be offended. This asshole doesn't get it. He understands nothing. Check it out:

"Elizabeth Warren is not a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.

Elizabeth Warren is not enrolled in the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.

And Elizabeth Warren is not one of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee.

Nor could she become one, even if she wanted to.

Despite a nearly three week flap over her claim of "being Native American," the progressive consumer advocate has been unable to point to evidence of Native heritage except for a unsubstantiated thirdhand report that she might be 1/32 Cherokee. Even if it could be proven, it wouldn't qualify her to be a member of a tribe"

"There's a running joke in Indian country: If you meet somebody who you wouldn't necessarily think they're Native, but they say they're Native, chances are they'll tell you they're Cherokee," said Lenzy Krehbiel-Burton, a spokesperson for the Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma, which with more than 300,000 citizens is the largest Cherokee tribe.

    5. I have native American ancestry on both sides and the only way I can prove it is genetics because there are no documents in my family, just family lore and the knowledge that one of my grandmothers had close ties to the Hopis in northern New Mexico. But I look very white.

n April 2012, the Boston Herald sparked a campaign controversy when "it reported that from 1986 to 1995 Warren had listed herself as a minority in the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) directories."

"Scott Brown, her Republican opponent in the Senate race, speculated that she had fabricated Native American heritage to gain advantage in hiring."

"Warren responded to the allegations saying that she had self-identified as a minority in the directories......."

      Self-identified!!! What a joke.

    2. Anonymous10:29 AM

9:57 - do you have any native heritage? I am a tribal member (of a federally recognized tribe) and documentation is not always possible due to the US gov't obliteration of native families, and the lack of documentation other than oral histories passed through families.

      Delete
    3. Anonymous10:47 AM

      I can respect that 10:29.

But I can also recognize that Warren is full of crap.

Warren is not a tribal member and never will be.

      Delete
    4. Elizabeth Warren didn't seek tribal enrollment. What she did do was investigate and identify with her heritage.

      And good for her.

If she obtained any hiring advantage to being listed in the Association of American Law Schools directory then all I have to say is "Hooray!" as I can't imagine anyone more qualified than she is.

That directory, by the way, "a yearly AALS publication and is the most widely used “desk book” of deans and law teachers. The directory lists AALS member and fee-paid law schools, and contains biographical sketches of more than 10,000 law school deans, tenured, tenure-track, long-term contract, and emeriti faculty. The directory also provides separate listings of these faculty members by subject matter taught, by those who identify as members of minority groups, and by those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender. It also contains a listing of professional staff and faculty administrators according to their professional role in academic affairs, admissions, alumni affairs, development, placement and student services. The book is available in print only at this time."

As someone who has participated in the hiring of a number of university professors, I can say that directories such of these are of limited utility (especially when only available in dead tree versions) and are useful primarily for reaching out to potential candidates in order to widen the applicant pool. The academic hiring process is rigorious and is subject to safeguards at every step. Listing in a directory such as this carries no weight compared to what hiring committees actually look at, which includes one's degrees, academic record, and experience.

Warren is not the one "full of crap."

I came across this pic of Trump in 1988. He was with Ivana at the 90th b-day of Norman Vincent Peale. There are other pics of him there posing alone and with others. In none of them, shot in the same surroundings, are his pupils enlarged. The room is on the dim side, but it's not so dim as to make it so that people's pupils become huge. In all the other pics, you don't see dilated pupils. Just why, I wonder, are Trump's in this pic?:

“I don’t know enough to really discuss it” but “I will say there are people who continue to bring it up because they think it was absolutely a murder.”

This is how Donald Trump works. This is not going away. He'll be hammering on this for the next six months. It's the exact same teflon statement that he used about Obama's birth certificate. He doesn't proclaim to say it himself but just repeat what someone else said and imply where there's smoke there's fire.

    He'll dredge up White Water.

    Clinton Foundation.

    Benghazi.

    And of course the e-mails.

It won't matter if Clinton didn't break the law. It won't matter if she had nothing to do with anything.

He'll just keep hammering on it, bringing it up over and over. That is what propaganda does. You just keep repeating it because each time you do, a few more people go from disbelief to doubt and a few more people go from doubt to belief. That's how Goebbels did it. That's how Rove did it.

Hillary has a lot of baggage and her unfavorables are almost as high as Trump's. They are so close that all Trump has to do is move the goal posts a little bit and he wins.

To bury your head in the sand and deny this very real threat is to be a "fucking child" or ignorant first time voter. Junior.

There. Have I insulted your intelligence enough?

For all those Bernie Bashers that railed about whatever, you gullible fools were taken in. No one but a first time junior voter lacking in intellect would swallow that "debate" Trump was doling out on Jimmy Kimmel. Yeah, you're all maroons buying that tripe and then bashing Sanders for it. You were all played.

"Based on the fact that the Democratic nominating process is totally rigged and Crooked Hillary Clinton and Deborah Wasserman Schultz will not allow Bernie Sanders to win, and now that I am the presumptive Republican nominee, it seems inappropriate that I would debate the second place finisher. Likewise, the networks want to make a killing on these events and are not proving to be too generous to charitable causes, in this case, women’s health issues. Therefore, as much as I want to debate Bernie Sanders - and it would be an easy payday - I will wait to debate the first place finisher in the Democratic Party, probably Crooked Hillary Clinton, or whoever it may be."

Notice how he got to use Crooked Hillary twice and get in that women's health issues without it costing him anything at all? Classic Trump.

    Oh, and TOLD YOU SO.

Why bring up the lie for political points? Families of people who commit suicide grieve every day with the whys and what if's, and Trump even bringing it up is beyond crass. I wonder how he'd feel if someone lied about his brother fred, the alcoholic? This is beneath contempt and unbecoming of a possible president.

I think we have all picked up on Little Donnie's strategy. He throws out some piece of gossip and then proceeds to "distance" himself by saying "I don't know, I don't know anything about it.. blah blah blah"

He is so transparent, now it is up to the media to nail him with his gossip, make him accountable for his statements or they could do something refreshing, ignore these lies and nail him on his policies-of which there are none.

Whatever Trump is, it's more scary to me that there are hoards of people who follow him with blinded worship. Like he can save them. I see Hilary as the person I will vote for but I know she can't save me. Trump promises things to his hungry hoard, and when that guy punched the other guy some months back at one of his rallies, I could easily guess what Trump's worshippers are hungering for, and am not looking forward to it.
