The first thing that needs to be said is that you must take EVERYTHING that Bill Kristol says with a giant grain of salt. The guy is wrong so much that he should get a parade for every time he gets something right.Just a heads up over this holiday weekend: There will be an independent candidate--an impressive one, with a strong team and a real chance.— Bill Kristol (@BillKristol) May 29, 2016
Having said that perhaps this is one of those times he gets a parade.
Unless of course his "impressive candidate, with a strong team, and a real chance" turns out to be the Libertarian party's Gary Johnson. Because he is none of those things.
(Besides it's more or less impossible to take the Libertarians seriously after this.)
Well whoever it is it seems to have made Trump feel a little threatened.
Bill Kristol has been wrong for 2yrs-an embarrassed loser, but if the GOP can't control their own, then they are not a party. Be tough, R's!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 29, 2016
The Republican Party has to be smart & strong if it wants to win in November. Can't allow lightweights to set up a spoiler Indie candidate!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 29, 2016
Here's hoping that the Stop Trump movement really has enough oomph to make this happen, cause it would be awesome. If dummy Bill Kristol actually does get a spoiler to run as an Independent, say good bye to the Supreme Court!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 29, 2016
Yeah, I know I'm stating the long-obvious, but every few days I get shocked all over again: how is someone who talks like this a major-party candidate for president of the United States of America?
ReplyDeleteNote that his three tweets were composed over just nine minutes.
DeleteAdd on some time for Sr. Trump to read about Bill Kristol, swear about him to the aides sitting next to him, and then use his tiny thumbs to type out his protests: do we want a President who devotes a quarter of an hour cogitating about each and every dissenting opinion about his greatness?
Has Trump spent an equal amount of time considering the latest news, about refugees, the environment, the law, or any other policy issue?
Instead, he throws around insults, such as calling Kristol "dummy," and alleging that the Indiana-born-and-educated judge who's trying the Trump University civil suit is a "Mexican." What greater slur could he throw than to call someone a Mexican?
We await Trump's discovery that Bill Kristol has some Latin blood. (It's a joke.)
" What greater slur could he throw than to call someone a Mexican?
DeleteAnswer>calling him a "WETBACK" like 82 year old Congressman Don Young, AK
6:23-- Because he's only saying "what everyone really thinks", according to his adoring followers.
DeleteColin Powell.
ReplyDeleteI dunno. He deleted all his e-mails as Sec. of State, and clearly the GOP really cares about that & is investigating it, right? I mean, they must be or else it's hypocritical, right??!! Surely that would disqualify him, right??
Delete"He deleted all his emails..."
DeleteI don't think we know that. Powell's State Dept email wasn't part of the Bush White House missing email. Besides, IOKIYAAR and especially if you need to be drafted by your party to save 'Murca.

DeleteLibertarians ... they're so far left, they're right.
ReplyDeleteI mean, their so far right, they're left.
I mean, they're so ... well, in my experience, annoying actually. Got lectured to in college by one and it completely and forever (obviously) put me off the movement.
It's easy to be Libertarian when one has so little life experience. That is why it is so popular among the college crowd.
DeleteHowever, just wait till they lose a job, get a serious sickness or have a loved one go through sickness. Then having government benefits keep them afloat or legally assure they can still get health insurance doesn't look so bad.
Someone should tweet Donald back, "Bill Kristol chose $arah Palin in '08. Two years? Try eight!"
ReplyDeleteBill Kristol thought GW was an outstanding President. Try sixteen.

Why some in China might prefer Donald Trump to Hillary Clinton
AP
May 30, 2016 9:15 AM EDT
BEIJING-- China features prominently in the rhetoric of presumed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who accuses the country of stealing American jobs and cheating at global trade. In China itself, though, he's only now emerging as a public figure, despite notoriety elsewhere for his voluble utterances, high-profile businesses and reality TV show.
And although Chinese officials and state media have denounced Trump's threats of economic retaliation, many Chinese observers see a silver lining in his focus on economic issues to the near-total exclusion of human rights and political freedoms. That appears to make him an attractive alternative to his likely rival, Democrat Hillary Clinton, who is regarded as far more critical of China's communist system.
Trump "could in fact be the best president for China," Hong Kong Phoenix Television political commentator Wu Jun said during a recent on-air discussion...
"That's because the Republican Party is more practical and Trump is a businessman who puts his commercial interests above everything else," Wu said. Clinton, on the other hand, "might be the least friendly president toward China."

"Trump "could in fact be the best president for China,"... "
Delete...is true because Trump would not know how to deal with the Chinese mindset. They prefer him because they know they could manipulate him. He's just not that bright.
He loves China.
DeleteWhere his clothing line is made.
Cheep Cheep!
The strong team must already be in place, even though they have missed one filing deadline of TX, I read. Maybe Hillary will be their impressive candidate, stranger things have happened.
ReplyDeleteSweetie, Hillary is the Democratic nominee, and President Obama's personal pick. Is this your first election?
DeleteUm, no, I meant maybe they've decided to support Hillary, well I can dream can't I? No, its like my 10th presidential election and I dare say I can parse politics better than you can read.
Delete9:51 - Then why would Hillary be the third party candidate for conservatives if she's the Democratic nominee? That's what this thread is about. Please explain. Thanks.
DeleteAt almost 70 years old, does this guy ever stop with the juvenile taunts? Liar, dummy, crooked....
ReplyDeleteMay be just me, but I prefer a leader that has matured beyond the junior high playground. Is that too much to ask?
I sure am going to miss you, President Obama.

It's pathetic isn't it. The guys acts like he is 14 years old.
I envisage him squatting on the toilet banging out tweets while he waits for his bloated gut to produce something more interesting than his tweets.
DeleteSorry about the image -- maybe there is a cartoon in it.

Delete"It's pathetic isn't it. The guys acts like he is 14 years old."
And spoiled rotten!
Man you gotta get out more, Barbara. It's not healthy to be envisaging people on the toilet and what their bowels are doing. Take a walk. Get some air.
DeleteI think he acts more like 7 or 8.Fourteen is much too mature for this scrotum blister.
Delete@ 9:21 LOL. It was just the "3 tweets in 9 minutes" that brought to mind his sitting (somewhere), waiting...
DeleteBill Kristol thought $arah Palin was the future of the party! Hmmmm, maybe he got that one right, just not in the way he thought it'd be!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing. Kristol thought that Sarah Palin would save McCain's campaign. O/T Spellcheck thought I meant to write "Bristol" when I typed in Kristol. How bizarre.

Bloomberg
ReplyDeleteI think he's too smart for this, but there are Romney signs (as in it could be him.)
DeleteMy guess would be Paul Ryan. He hasn't endorsed Trump yet.
Delete"Be tough, R's!"
ReplyDeleteR's what? Pet peeve: misplaced apostrophes.
DUMB Donald.
"Donnie Dumbo" -- moniker for him?
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteReminds me of the old Match Game with Gene Rayburn. "Dumb Donald is sooo dumb..."
DeleteAmong the many fascinating examples in today's Washington Post article, reprinted in the Huffington Post:
ReplyDeleteHe [Trump] also went after Clinton.
“Do you think — honestly, honestly, honestly — do you think Hillary looks presidential?” The crowd answered in unison as Trump smirked: “Noooo!”
“I don’t think so,” Trump continued, shaking his head. “And I’m not going to say it because I’m not allowed to say it because I want to be politically correct, so I refuse to say that I cannot stand her screaming into the microphone all of the time.”
"Trump said. “I will give you everything. I will give you what you’ve been looking for for 50 years. I’m the only one.”" I am having a good time — but, you know, I could be doing other things right now,” Trump continued, shaking his head. “And I’m not going to say it because I’m not allowed to say it because I want to be politically correct, so I refuse to say that I cannot stand her (HRC) screaming into the microphone all of the time.”

The actions of a bully: "I refuse to say that I cannot stand...."
DeleteHe says it but says he's not saying it. This reminds me of my children when they were reaching the stage of knowing right from wrong, and trying to sneak through with something they knew was wrong by pretending that other people said or thought the incendiary ideas.
Trump will, sooner or later before November, say something so egregious that even his beer-hall pals, the white people clinging to their guns, religion, and racism, will recoil at his nastiness and they'll be ashamed to call him their savior.
There is nothing Donnie Ducker could do or say that would be worse or different from what his fans say or do or --- are thinking. He is just saying out loud what they heretofore could not. '
DeleteBut at rallies they are shouting his words with relish!
NOTHING will be too horrible. No, it will be his Trump 2.0 pandering to the leftish Independents that will cheese them off. Going against their wishes, like all the rest of their elected PsOS in their party. IMHO.
It's not that HE can't stand to hear Hillary "screaming", he just wants to plant the seed into the minds of others that she is SCREAMING when she speaks with passion.
DeleteWhatever he or others think of Hilary's voice, what kind of person can bear to listen to Sarah's screeches; Sarah whose voice seems to fluctuate meaninglessly between supersonic shrill and a demonic guttural growl, and all without meaningful content.
The Republican Party hasn't been able to control their own since the Tea Party started. They certainly aren't controlling Trump. Who is he calling a lightweight? Has there ever been a more unqualified candidate at the top of the ticket? The thought of Palin being second in line was bad enough but a President Trump? Looks like The Donald is low on funds, hopefully his campaign will implode soon
ReplyDeleteHe'll continue to get billions of coverage by more antics. He has contracts with all the networks, remember?
DeleteIt will be interesting to see if trump is still the top of the ticket after the convention in Cleveland.

DeleteRead that Trump hotel bookings are down 59%. Wah Wah. Guess his base aka the poorly educated can't afford Trump anything and those that can find him, his name and his "brand" tremendously distasteful. Trump figured "Trump" branded items to be higher quality -- everything but himself it seems. Hope the half-billionaire crashes and burns when all is said and done.

Instead of a thinking man, Trump is just another over emotional, reactor, a reflection of exactly what is wrong with most of the populace this country.
ReplyDeleteGeorgiaPeach
Sorry, GP, but I have to say it: If Trump is "a reflection of exactly what is wrong with most of the populace of this country", you can expect to see Trump in the White House.
DeletePersonally, I would prefer to believe most of our population is smart enough to see the extreme stupidity of both him AND his claims.
Fear is the weapon of tyrants. In November, cooler and smarter heads will prevail. Keep the faith!
DeleteI was really pleased to talk with an acquaintance of mine (she is a republican) this morning and found out that she will not even remotely consider voting for the dumpster. She voted for Jesse Ventura as Minnesota governor back in the day so I wasn't sure whether she would support trump - sure glad she won't.
DeleteBloody Bill has NEVER been right about anything!
ReplyDeletePonzi, Madoff and Trump...
ReplyDeleteI can't help but believe that something is going on behind the scenes before the gop convention to replace trump with a "more palatable" candidate. It just seems sort of odd how so many of the nevertrump people are all of a sudden acting like they are okay with him as the new leader of their party.
ReplyDeleteSomething is definitely going on but they are so disorganized & impotent that it's unlikely it will really matter (case in point, Bill Kristol as messenger).

Does that mean he thinks Bernie is running? Seems to me quite a few of Bernie Bro's and Ho's are really tRump supporters anyway.
ReplyDeleteI think you are wrong on this Gryphen.
ReplyDeleteGary Weld and Bill Weld make a strong team of intelligent, sane men. Bernie was my first choice. If not Bernie, I'd have to go with Hilary because no way in hell I'd go for Drumpf...but now I would absolutely go for the Libertarian guys. No question.
Um, I think you mean Gary Johnson, right? (Just trying to help you vote for your candidate, although I support HRC.)
DeleteDonald Trump act so prissy. Tweeting all the time. Now Kristol is toying with him on this tidbit and Donald is having a fit. Everyone knows at this point that if Trump wins the Presidency, then what? It's like we played along with you all these months. The wall, the jobs, the undoing of Obama's work because he was a black man in the White House that actually got shit done, but now, that your some months away from it, Don, it's like oh shit. That whining ninny is about to be a President. And there are those that are still drunk enough on the kookaid to make it happen. Think, America, think! I just wonder what the German people were thinking when they came out of their mad stupor after Hitler. Did they wonder to themselves, what had gotten them there? I mean, I know noones truly villified Hitler as he deserves but I bet in their secret little hearts those who believes, that idealism is still lurking. What if we had gotten rid of the Jewish people? What if we were the one race that could. What if, what if. Meanwhile we sit on the side and watch Donald test the waters to see if that thought set is ready for the ride once again.
