Elizabeth Warren had a private meeting with Hillary Clinton this morning. Probably doesn't mean anything though, right?

Courtesy of ABC News:

Sen. Elizabeth Warren huddled with Hillary Clinton at the presumptive Democratic nominee's Washington, D.C., home this morning, the day after the Massachusetts Democrat endorsed Clinton's bid for the White House.

Warren's visit to Clinton's home lasted 66 minutes. As she departed, Warren ignored questions from the media about what the two discussed in their meeting. A source familiar with the meeting tells ABC News that the two conferred about how they can work together in the upcoming general election campaign to advance the progressive agenda and defeat Donald Trump.

Warren's support could be significant to Clinton as she looks to appeal to Bernie Sanders’ constituency, even as the Vermont senator has yet to exit the race.

Warren, like Sanders, is considered a rising star in the Democratic Party for her advocacy on economic equality issues and taking on Wall Street. Warren has been seen as a possible vice presidential candidate for Clinton. Asked about the speculation Thursday night, Warren said, "no," adding that she had not heard from Clinton nor her campaign about whether she is under consideration for the position.

On Tuesday night, during an exclusive interview with ABC News shortly before giving her acceptance speech, Clinton praised Warren and didn't rule out the prospect of having her on the ticket.

"I'm not going to get into vice presidential choices,” Clinton said, “but I have the highest regard for Senator Warren.”

The only thing that I am going to say is that if you were trying to quell speculation about Elizabeth Warren being on the ticket, this is not how you would do that.

Furthermore if you REALLY wanted to piss off the progressives and frustrated Bernie supporters, and ensure that they would NEVER vote for you in the general, you would tease them with this possibility and then choose somebody completely different.

So ask yourself, would Hillary Clinton really do something that politically clumsy?

Now if you will excuse me I have a Snoopy dance to get back to.

  1. While I love Sen. Warren, I think she should stay in the Senate, where she has real power. Sure, she's a great VP choice for winning the general, but really, I want to see her on C-SPAN hammering bankers. I do think current VP Joe Biden would make an excellent choice. Nothing says he can't.

Last night Lawrence O'Donnell asked Senator Al Franken if there were any democratic senators who would not say yes to Hillary asking them to be VP. Franken said no.

How many sitting republican US senators would say yes to being Trump's VP. Jeff Sessions probably is the only one, and I doubt Trump wants him.

That there's some super reportage, as Sanders is not a Democrat. #analysis

Would she do something politically clumsy?

Jesus Fooking Christ, what planet are you living on?

I could give you numerous times she's been a complete clutz but this one is my favorite especially how you all consider yourselves to be the ones to decide when ole Berns drops out.

BRANDON, S.D. — Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton defended staying in the Democratic nominating contest on Friday by pointing out that her husband had not wrapped up the nomination until June 1992, adding, “We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California.”

Her remarks were met with quick criticism from the campaign of Senator Barack Obama, and within hours of making them Mrs. Clinton expressed regret, saying, “The Kennedys have been much on my mind the last days because of Senator Kennedy,” referring to the recent diagnosis of Senator Edward M. Kennedy’s brain tumor. She added, “And I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation and in particular the Kennedy family was in any way offensive.”

Still, the comments touched on one of the most sensitive aspects of the current presidential campaign — concern for Mr. Obama’s safety. And they come as Democrats have been talking increasingly of an Obama/Clinton ticket, with friends of the Clintons saying that Bill Clinton is musing about the possibility that the vice presidency might be his wife’s best path to the presidency if she loses the nomination.

There will be a lot of disappointed people if Hillary doesn't bring Warren along on the ticket. While I appreciated the idea that she is needed in the Senate, at this point in time she is needed more as a VP nominee. Trump must be defeated in November.

    Sheesh

I disagree, 2:51 PM. We all know that Elizabeth Warren would be effective in either place to help Hillary Clinton in her run.

But, there are also others that are just as qualified, or even more so, that Hillary might select.

It is, after all, up to her and whom she thinks can help her win and to do a good job in serving.

I know she will be the one to make the correct choice!

Go get 'em, Gryph, these posters are no different than those at the pee pond who swear that, if the GOP nomination is taken from tRump at their convention, they're coming with an uprising never before seen in history. Second amendment, baby, Blah Blah Blah. Sure they will be; they can't pull themselves away from their computer screens long enough to do so.

This blog has always been worth my time since I found it researching Her Heinous after she'd been announced in '08. I'm not an atheist, but do I disparage you with posts of bible verses? Why would I; it's your blog and your opinion of which you're allowed. More power to you!

Too bad their candidate is NOT going to get the nomination, but they can get the hell over it. It IS your house and many of us are happy to be offered a seat at the table.

You folks have to realize that a lot of us that visit here are dyed in the wool Republicans. We come to see what "the other side is thinking and doing". Most of us never comment, but it is interesting, for those of us that are backing the Republican nominee, to see all this discord and argument and infighting within the Democratic ranks. Looks like it's your turn now to snatch defeat from the arms of victory :-)

The more I read here the better it is looking for us, so thank you, thank you for your bitter divide, thank you for finally showing us Republicans that your party is fractured to the point of absolute inefficiency and is hobbled by too many factions.

Elizabeth Warren would be far more effective continuing as a senator. She does not need to be muzzled and confined by the VP job. She still has lots of work to do in the Senate and can be a powerful ally to President HRC there.
