Hillary Clinton is now actively vetting Elizabeth Warren for VP.

Courtesy of TPM:

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is actively vetting Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) as a potential running mate, according to a Thursday Wall Street Journal report.

The popular, progressive Massachusetts senator, known for her strong stance on Wall Street regulation and skill at landing punches against Donald Trump, has long been floated as a smart choice vice presidential pick for the more centrist Democrat.

The vetting has for now been limited to scrutinizing publicly available information, according to the Journal, and candidates have not yet been asked to submit tax returns or other personal information.

The article goes on to list a number of others who are also being vetted, but let's face it that's just for show.

It also points out that Bernie Sanders is NOT on the list.

I have every confidence that the Clinton/Warren ticket will prove unstoppable, and look forward to yet another historic election.

    Whatever Warren decides to do, I am behind her. She may prefer to stay in the Senate and that would be okay. Hillary has many other qualified choices if she chooses not to take the VP spot.

    As for the nay sayers that will say a ticket with 2 women can't win, well maybe you are just on the wrong side of history. Two women, with the minority support can get a landslide win. And to those nay sayers, maybe it's about time you realize that white men are no longer in control.

  9. It makes political sense for Clinton to co-opt the Elizabeth Warren wing of the party, but speaking as a Liberal, it is nothing for the Elizabeth Warren wing to celebrate. She has been the most effective Liberal voice in the senate since Ted Kennedy, and doesn't have his baggage. In terms of political ideology, Warren is the un-Clinton - a populist willing to publically speak out against the corporatists, not something she can do from within yet another Blue Dog White House. I believe a Clinton/un-Clinton ticket would do very well at the box office, but losing Warren from the senate will also be an important loss for all of us, and what will we really have gained?

    Re: 2016 GOP presidential candidates
    Date: May 26, 2015

    Below, please find a suggested strategy for positioning and public messaging around the 2016 Republican presidential field. Ultimately, we need to
    Our Goals & Strategy
    Our goals in the coming months will be to frame the Republican field and the eventual nominee early and to provide a contrast between the GOP field and HRC. Over the long-term, these efforts will be aimed at getting us the best match-up in the general election, and weakening the eventual nominee through the course of the primary. We have outlined three strategies to obtain our goal:
    1. Highlight when GOP candidates are outside of the mainstream on key issues, ideally driving the rest of the field to follow with positions that will hurt them in a general election;
    2. Damage Republican presidential candidates' credibility with voters by looking for targeted opportunities to undermine their specific messaging;
    3. Use specific hits to muddy the waters around ethics, transparency and campaign finance attacks on HRC.

    Gotta love that #3!

      Bernie will probably not see his ideals promulgated in his life time, yet he stays with it because he KNOWS we have to get it started.

      Thank The Ether that Drumpf has not been busy using his power and money to build a down-ballot coalition in the wake of his inevitable defeat - the way Bernie has been doing that very thing. At least the dangling Bernie supporters are for the betterment of America, unlike the dingleberries that will still be hanging around for Drumpf.

    An Unlikely Savior Emerges to Help Endangered Republicans: George W. Bush

    ...In the weeks since Mr. Trump emerged as the party’s presumptive presidential nominee, Mr. Bush has headlined fund-raisers for two Republican senators and has made plans to help three more. Among them are Senators John McCain of Arizona, who was one of Mr. Trump’s earliest targets of derision, and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, who has struggled to respond to Mr. Trump’s inflammatory talk.

    Friends say that the former president is deeply bothered by Mr. Trump’s campaign message, especially his derogatory remarks about Muslims and immigrants. At the event with Mr. McCain, Mr. Bush stressed the importance of preserving the Republican-held Senate as a “check and balance” on the White House, suggesting that such a check was needed, whether the next president is Mr. Trump or Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee.

    ‘He’s obsessed with menstruation’: Ex-producer exposes Trump’s bizarre ‘Apprentice’ behavior

    Some former Apprentice producers agreed to speak to Slate on the condition they did not use their names, citing nondisclosure agreements. Staffers described strange quirks like Trump’s fear of making physical contact with others because of a germ phobia. But they also said the way he talks about women on the campaign trail isn’t a new trait by far.

    “He would talk about the female contestants’ bodies a lot from the control room,” mid-level producer told Slate. “We shot in Trump Tower, the control room was on the seventh floor, and he walked in one day and was talking about a contestant, saying, ‘Her breasts were so much bigger at the casting. Maybe she had her period then.’ He knows he’s mic’d and that 30 people are hearing this, but he didn’t care. That’s kind of him. During the campaign, when he was talking about Megyn Kelly, I thought: He’s obsessed with menstruation.”
