Wait, they got what? |
Russian government hackers penetrated the computer network of the Democratic National Committee and gained access to the entire database of opposition research on GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, according to committee officials and security experts who responded to the breach.
The intruders so thoroughly compromised the DNC’s system that they also were able to read all email and chat traffic, said DNC officials and the security experts.
The intrusion into the DNC was one of several targeting American political organizations. The networks of presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were also targeted by Russian spies, as were the computers of some GOP political action committees, U.S. officials said. But details on those cases were not available. A Russian Embassy spokesman said he had no knowledge of such intrusions.
The DNC said that no financial, donor or personal information appears to have been accessed or taken, suggesting that the breach was traditional espionage, not the work of criminal hackers.
So I guess the question that needs to be asked is whether a story like this undermines charges that Hillary Clinton's personal server was less secure than the ones used by the State Department, which was also hacked several years ago, or of every other agency operating in Washington?
Even if it turns out that she was hacked, how could you possibly suggest that she was more careless than the DNC, Donald Trump, or the State Department?
O/T: Stop Exploiting LGBT Issues to Demonize Islam and Justify Anti-Muslim Policies
ReplyDeletehttps://theintercept.com/2016/06/13/stop-exploiting-lgbt-issues-to-demonize-islam-and-justify-anti-muslim-policies/
Glenn Greenwald wrote yesterday: In the late 1990s, Eric Rudolph — raised Catholic and affiliated for a time with a Christian Identity sect — bombed abortion clinics and a gay bar, insisting they were venues of immorality and evil. Last July, an Orthodox Jewish Israeli attacked the marchers in the Jerusalem LGBT pride parade, stabbing six of them, and one of them, a teenager, died of her wounds; justifying his attacks by appealing to Talmudic punishments for homosexuality, he had just been released from a 10-year prison term for doing the same in 2005. Yesterday, a Christian pastor from Arizona, Steven Anderson, praised the slaughter of 49 people in an Orlando LGBT club on the ground that “homosexuals are a bunch of disgusting perverts” and are “pedophiles.”
A 2015 Pew poll found that U.S. Muslims were more accepting of homosexuality than evangelical Christians, Mormons, and Jehovah’s Witnesses
Yet Orlando is being used as ammunition against Islam. I write "Islam" with no qualifiers because public figures are making it clear that it's not enough to write "radical jihadist terrorism"—one is obliged to write, "radical Islamic terrorism". Not just Trump. Others, too.
Greenwald concludes: Depicting anti-LGBT hatred as the exclusive (or even predominant) province of Islam is not only defamatory toward Muslims but does a massive disservice to the millions of LGBTs who have been — and continue to be — seriously oppressed, targeted, and attacked by people who have nothing to do with Islam. The struggle of LGBTs around the world is difficult enough without having them cynically used as some sort of prop to bash a group that itself is already being bashed from multiple directions.
As usual Greenwald nails it.
DeleteOf course if he criticizes Hillary, everyone here goes batshit and calls him a tax evader among other things because he lives in Brazil.
He is a tax evader. Fact. He owes the US gov't money.
DeleteGreenwald also worked part-time investing in gay porn: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/greenwald-reporter-broke-nsa-story-lawyer-sued-porn-biz-article-1.1383448

DeleteWhat goes on between two consenting adults is neither mine nor your's business.
Careful painting with a broad brush here on this blog, considering the owner's daughter is gay.
Just sayin'...
3:46 - what broad brush? Greenwald was an investor in a gay porn company, and he also tried to come up with the stories for the products. Those are facts. Greenwald himself says so!
DeleteRussian government hackers … gained access to the entire database of opposition research on GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump
ReplyDelete… or at least, the parts of it not favourable to Trump. Other information may have been more closely guarded. I don't know how much credit to give the DNC, but information is often considered more valuable when you have to steal it.
Or .... This will make the DNC look incompetent; Dems are 'soft on terror' and can't keep sensitive information protected. Trump and his henchmen are lovin this, I'll bet.
DeleteI can hardly wait to see what President Obama and his Administration have on the weasel Trump!
DeleteWon't it be fun watching Trump cream his jeans?
The anti Obama guy is a bully that needs his clock cleaned good and proper! As well as his bottom teeth knocked out as they are the only things that ever show when he talks! Trump has the weirdest mouth and nose!
12:14, that row of bottom teeth is so gross, especially every time he says "CHI-na." Ick...imagine if we had to see him as he said the word "va-JIIIE-NAAAH.
DeleteThey also hacked several GOP political folks and trump. It's only the DNC who has been open about it.
Deletemakes me think July is a month of celebrating things - the sideshows - they just keep popping up like moles!
Delete12:46: that row of lower front teeth... They are actually a 'partial plate' - i.e. false teeth. Looks like he still might have his molars that hold this partial plate in place, or else these are some cheaply drilled-in fakes.
DeleteMaybe the Russian hackers were able to get the stammering yam's tax returns.
DeleteEvery time I see a face shot of that asshole, I want to get physical with him! I detest the traitor to President Obama!
ReplyDeleteIn an article over on Huffpo he's referred to as a "heap of tannery fleshings." The many names for orange Trump...he's the gift that keeps on giving.
DeleteHow about "Casino Mussolini"? Or "The Velveeta Raccoon"?
DeleteI have to laugh about this guy to keep from crying.
Sorry I forget who it was on IM yesterday called him the Cheetoh Dick. I call him Don the Con especially after last week's article in USA Today in how he stiffed so many people who worked for him and also how he ripped people off in his Trump U.
DeleteFolks, this isn't good...
ReplyDeleteThis may be a little far fetched but didn't Manafort
Deletehave some type of connections
with the Russians? Thought I read that when he was first hired by Trump.
Agreed.
DeleteWho says this was a Russian ploy, not a ReThug one, with one of them having asked the Russians to help them?
Trump is Nixon. He called up Putin & got them to do the break-in. Just like Watergate, let's watch the cover-up. Eh, Trump? (Where's Checkers?)
DeleteHonestly, the oppo research on Trump has been out there in the public domain since the 80's, so it's doubtful they got anything too damaging on the Democrats' end.
Here's what I know off the top of my head re: Trump oppo research:
1) lawsuit filed against him for discrimination against African-American tenants (80's)
2) domestic violence - beat Ivana (also she said he raped her but then dropped that? - 80's)
3) serial adulterer - cheated on 2 spouses, had out of wedlock child (80's/90's)
4) takes tax break in NY for those who make $500,000 or less annually, while publicly claiming to be a billionaire (00's to now)
5) has 3,500 lawsuits filed against him (80's - now)
6) major fraud case re:Trump U; links to political corruption for charges dropped by AG's in FLA & TX after donations from Trump received (now)
See? It's easy!
Inside job for sure - they just don't want to give up the loot - so they play games!
Delete205 they go back and forth so much it's almost dancing material? Add circus music!
DeleteFunny, me thinks some former Bernie Sanders campaign staff know something about this.

ReplyDeleteOpposition research on Trump comes easy
Yes, opposition research on tRump is easy.
DeleteKnowing what they will do with it/what strategy they will use: priceless! Because then tRump or the GOP can use that information preemptively. Besides: who says it is only info on tRump that they got? Maybe the DNC had some strategy JIC the GOP goes for a contested convention and puts forth who-knows-who, and the DNC had some valid guesses?
as were the computers of some GOP political action committees, U.S. officials said.
ReplyDeleteLike ScarahPAC? lol
Exactly, It wasn't just the DNC, they were the only ones open about it.
DeleteIt's all Obama's fault. He gave Putin the password.
ReplyDeletelol
Delete@12:47
DeleteNope.
Got it from Hillary's unsecure homebrew server or Blackberry that got hacked.
For real.
3:36 -I'm sorry that no on reads your blog. Maybe it seems like it would be boring, as gyou post the exact same anti Hillary screeds here over and over and over...
DeleteI love that Barack and Hillary--but especially the pres--hammered Trump on his birthday. It's interesting that Trump's been mum on it being his big 7-0 day. If you go to his Twitter page there are moving cartoon balloons that drop the hint, but so far I've not heard him refer to his b-day anywhere. He refers to the Army's b-day on Twitter and that's it, far as I saw. He has a rally tonight and will pry enjoy a serenade from his freaky fans as they wish him a happy b-day.
ReplyDeleteThis is the second time the DNC has been hacked this year. The first time Bernie's campaign hacked it to steal Hillary's mailing/emailing lists.
ReplyDeleteseems many 'backdoors' are left open! hahaha
DeleteBernie Sanders Makes His Demands Of Democrats, And They Are Not Unreasonable
ReplyDeletehttp://www.politicususa.com/2016/06/14/bernie-sanders-demands-democrats-unreasonable.html
But they are BS; at least half of them are state issues, not party issues. Maybe Bernie is too inexperienced to know that, as he's only been a Democrat for a few months.

"careless",Gryph?
ReplyDeleteShe broke the law.
Before starting in her role as Secretary of State, Hillary had to read and sign this agreement NDA Agreement:
Intending to be legally bound, I hereby accept the obligations contained in this Agreement in consideration of my being granted access to classified information. As used in this Agreement, classified information is marked or unmarked classified information, including oral communications, that is classified under the standards of Executive Order 12958, or under any other Executive order or statute that prohibits the unauthorized disclosure of information in the interest of national security; and unclassified information that meets the standards for classification and is in the process of a classification determination as provided in Sections 1.1. 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4(e) of Executive Order 12958, or under any other Executive order or statute that requires protection for such information in the interest of national security. I understand and accept that by being granted access to classified information, special confidence and trust shall be placed in me by the United States Government.

DeleteThose are Federal laws that apply to Hillary's "deleted" emails and her homebrew server in her private residence.
Please note the mission statement at the top left of this blog...
3:31 - you know nothing about the law or what applies. I'm sorry that no one reads your blog, but your spam posting here on the same topic daily will not bring you more readers. You have no idea what the truth is. Your rightwing propaganda helps Trump.

DeleteThe FBI has moved all vital resources to working on threats to national security, such as the Orlando killer. You'll find out soon enough that nothing of any severity will happen to the Clintons--maybe a fine like Petraeus got (everyone else knows--but some folks are slow because Hillary Derangement is their blindspot?).
